After leaving the office and getting into the elevator, Evelyn Clayton received a ssage from May.

Good news, security hadn’t had the chance to get Jas Grant out yet, she went down and intercepted him.

Another ssage that wasn’t necessarily bad, but enough to make Evelyn Clayton a bit uneasy.

Jas Grant was now waiting in her office.

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t describe her feelings at that mont; she kind of hated this sensation.

It seed no matter how much ti passed, Jas Grant could still affect her emotions, making her restless.

Returning to the eighteenth floor, just as she entered the design departnt, May hurriedly ca to her side.

"Evelyn, did you see the ssage?" May was inexplicably excited. "You just went to the CEO’s office, did the big boss say anything?"

Evelyn Clayton shook her head, then softly instructed, "Keep an eye on him, don’t approach my office casually."

"Got it! Don’t worry!"

With May around, Evelyn Clayton really didn’t need to worry too much about such things.

She walked slowly toward her office, but stopped at the doorway.

After a long pause, Evelyn Clayton silently took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Inside the office, sitting on the sofa, Jas Grant stood up the mont he saw her, looked over steadily.

Evelyn Clayton was calm enough. She nodded at Jas Grant as if receiving a business partner, "Sorry to keep Mr. Grant waiting."

Jas Grant stared intently at Evelyn Clayton’s face, looking at the face that had haunted his dreams countless nights. His heart felt a peak of acid and sorrow.

He would rather Evelyn Clayton treat him with coldness or anger.

What he feared most was this—neither cold nor warm, as if nothing had ever happened between them, just strangers who had just t.

"Please sit down." Evelyn Clayton gestured politely but distantly for Jas Grant to sit opposite her.

Jas Grant hesitated for a mont before slowly sitting down.

"What just happened was an accident. Let apologize first." Evelyn Clayton poured him water. "I hope Mr. Grant wasn’t too startled."

Jas Grant felt like sothing was stuck in his throat. Though he had a thousand words to say, at the mont, he couldn’t express even a fraction of them.

After a long pause, Jas Grant spoke in a hoarse voice, "It’s alright..."

Evelyn Clayton looked steadily at Jas Grant for a while, getting straight to the point, "I won’t beat around the bush. Did you co here for sothing?"

"I..."

Jas Grant felt like he was sawing at his own words, his mind was in turmoil, yet he couldn’t speak at all.

Evelyn Clayton seed to understand his feelings completely, rely lowering her eyes slightly, then suddenly said, "Have you been looking for for a long ti?"

Jas Grant’s eyes turned red instantly.

"Yes." He struggled to control the tremor in his voice, trying in vain to regain so composure, "I looked for you for a long ti, as soon as I learned you’d gone from Vesseria to Paris, I couldn’t wait... but I wasn’t intentionally following you, it was chaotic there, I was just afraid sothing would happen to you—"

Evelyn Clayton nodded, interrupting Jas Grant, "I know. I’ll always rember Mr. Grant’s help and will repay it in the future."

Jas Grant beca anxious, "That’s not what I ant, and you know that..."

"Whether you an it or not, I do." Evelyn Clayton didn’t et Jas Grant’s eyes anymore; she couldn’t tell if she was avoiding him or what, "Let’s not talk about this. Let’s discuss so business."

"If you’re here to bring up the past again, please spare ."
