Jas Grant’s hand hanging by his side slightly tightened.
He instinctively looked towards Evelyn Clayton, only to see her eyes cold and indifferent, silently gazing at him, as if telling Jas that she had acknowledged Shane Sinclair’s words.
Jas took a deep breath.
After a long pause, he suppressed the tremble in his voice, slowly opening his mouth, struggling to say, "...Miss Sinclair, could you give a chance? I would like to talk to you alone."
Jas Grant’s compromise took Evelyn by surprise.
It was the first ti in her life she had seen Jas Grant compromise.
Jas’s sudden display of weakness even surprised Shane Sinclair. He instinctively turned to look at Evelyn, with a hint of inquiry.
Evelyn lowered her eyes slightly, indifferently saying, "Director Grant, if you want to talk to alone, make an appointnt at The Sinclair Group when we return to the country. I’ll consider it when I have ti."
After speaking, Evelyn looked at Shane and calmly said, "Brother, let’s go."
Shane’s initially bad mood brightened imdiately after hearing Evelyn’s word "Brother."
He glanced sideways at Jas with a subtle hint of pride and extended his arm.
Evelyn gracefully took Shane’s arm and got into the car with him.
Jas watched their backs, his heart aching to the extre.
He was a man, so he could imdiately see that Shane’s gaze at Evelyn just now was far from being rely brotherly.
And that almost triumphant look Shane gave before leaving...
Jas stood in place, his hand gradually clenching tight, his eyes deeply fixed on the vehicle driving away.
Soon, Jas’s phone rang.
It was a call from Quentin Hale.
Jas returned to his car and answered the call.
"Director Grant, I’ve arrived at the hotel, where are you?" Quentin asked urgently, "Are you safe now?"
Quentin, knowing an incident occurred there, had arranged protection for Jas but still felt uneasy, buying a ticket in the middle of the night to co over.
If sothing happened to Jas, Harvestide Holdings would collapse.
"I’m fine." Jas’s voice was slightly hoarse, he held the steering wheel tightly, his tone heavy, "Book a ticket to Aethelburg, now, imdiately."
Quentin was dumbfounded, "Huh? Aren’t you returning to Riversend?"
Jas said no more, directly hanging up the phone.
He looked in the direction where Shane and Evelyn had left, his hand gradually tightening.
This ti, he must seize the opportunity—he absolutely, absolutely would not hurt Evelyn again.
He wants to win Evelyn back.
On the other side.
Shane Sinclair and Evelyn Clayton boarded the plane and called Pauline Warren to assure her.
Neither of them ntioned anything about Jas Grant, to prevent Pauline from worrying more.
When the plane took off, Evelyn put both her phones on airplane mode.
Shane, noticing this, chuckled softly, "There’s Wi-Fi on the plane, no need."
"It’s okay, I want so peace." Evelyn almost smiled bitterly, "The few calls I’ve received these days have gotten worse each ti."
Shane gazed at Evelyn for a long ti, lips slightly moved, "I’m sorry, I should have co with you."
Evelyn smiled with her lips pursed, "It’s nothing, actually it was quite an exciting journey, consider it an eye-opener."
Shane silently laughed a little, then withdrew so of his smile, his eyes testing as he looked at Evelyn.
"Evelyn, do you still want to see Jas Grant again?"
