The person who ca was Jas Grant.
Yara Reagan couldn’t rember when was the last ti she saw Jas Grant. Seeing him again now, she felt sowhat surprised.
Jas Grant seed sowhat different from before.
He didn’t appear older, but his entire deanor seed more reserved and profound. His eyes no longer concealed sharpness as they once did; instead, they were increasingly unfathomable.
Yara blocked Jas Grant’s path, preventing him from entering, and coldly looked at him, "Director Grant, you are not welco here."
"It’s okay, I just want to say a few words to you." Jas Grant was not offended, his eyes dark, "I’m about to leave soon."
Yara’s heart tightened, and she asked instinctively, "Where are you heading?"
"Paris." Jas Grant fixed his gaze on Yara’s eyes, "Did you see the ssage I sent you?"
Yara’s face grew colder, "I saw it. What does Director Grant want to say? You don’t think that is Evelyn, do you?"
Jas Grant remained calm, "Even if there is a one in ten thousand chance, I will go. But rest assured, I won’t hurt her again this ti."
These words instantly reminded Yara of that accident five years ago.
Her expression beca even less friendly, and she said coldly, "Director Grant, there’s no need to tell all this. Besides, there’s no one left for you to tell. I’ve told you long ago, Evelyn is gone."
"Really..." Jas Grant murmured, "Say what you will, but I’m going to go for sure this ti. I just wanted to let you know that I have no ill intentions; I just want to confirm whether she’s doing well."
Before Yara could speak again, Jas Grant continued, "Also, I found Charlotte Sterling."
Yara’s heart tightened slightly, but she kept a calm exterior and replied impatiently, "What does that have to do with ?"
"Indeed, nothing much... But I wanted to say, when my people found Charlotte Sterling, they discovered more than one group was looking for her. Another group was trying to kill her, so Charlotte was hiding in a very pitiful state. I’ve investigated, and that group might be connected to Aethelburg."
Jas Grant paused, hesitant to speak, "It’s very likely also related to Evelyn’s father’s death back then."
Yara’s brows moved slightly, and she stared at Jas Grant for a long mont before slowly saying, "Jas Grant, I’ve said before, Evelyn is gone; telling won’t change anything. I advise you not to waste your efforts."
After speaking, Yara indifferently said, "See yourself out."
After closing the door, Yara stood in the entryway for a while before returning.
Iris Lockwood had already placed the dishes on the dining table. At this mont, everyone exchanged glances, then looked at Yara, unsure whether to speak.
Especially Violet Ford and Franklin Ford, they were both wondering internally but didn’t know how to bring it up.
Regarding Evelyn Clayton’s life or death, the two of them were roughly aware that Evelyn was still alive and highly likely living with the Sinclair family.
But Yara and Iris were tight-lipped and had never ntioned it to them. Each ti they tried to subtly inquire, they were always brushed off.
Over ti, the Ford siblings stopped asking.
Anyway, Gem was still operating normally. Even though they had transferred most of the company shares, they retained a small portion, and the annual dividends were considerable, not to ntion the opportunities to cooperate with Gem as shareholders each year.
These were tangible benefits.
Given that, the truth about so matters doesn’t seem as important anymore.
But seeing Jas Grant co today, Violet couldn’t hold back.
"It’s been so many years..." Violet was careful with her words, looking at Yara, "Yara, is Evelyn really... still around?"
