A waft of smoke drifted from inside the room, and Evelyn Clayton noticed three cigarette butts at Jas Grant’s feet, instinctively furrowing her brows.
"You’re here? Why didn’t you let know?"
"Didn’t you also beco the new art director without telling ?"
"That was decided recently, haven’t we not t lately?"
"You could’ve called."
"So you’re here to settle the score?"
"I just got here, running into you was purely accidental."
Despite Evelyn Clayton’s skepticism about the word "accidental," she followed the principle of avoiding unnecessary trouble and didn’t press further.
"Are you planning to keep smoking?"
"If you want one, I can give you so." Jas Grant pulled out a box of cigars and raised an eyebrow slightly, "This one’s pretty good, take it."
"When did I say I wanted to smoke?" Evelyn Clayton looked him up and down, "I just want you to make so space; I want to hide here."
"Don’t tell this is a ga you and Matthew Sullivan play during work hours."
Evelyn Clayton let out a cold laugh, "Jas Grant, there’s no one else here, even if I push you down, no one would know it was who killed you."
"Hmm. So, are you going to do it?"
Jas Grant asked indifferently, as if discussing sothing irrelevant.
"I’ll let you go today."
Since Jas Grant wasn’t leaving, she could only leave herself.
Evelyn Clayton opened the door, just about to walk out, when Jas Grant suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"Stay here, chat with for a while."
"Aren’t you the CEO? If you give the word, wouldn’t people queue angrily at the company entrance for you?"
"Those people don’t understand ."
"I don’t either," Evelyn Clayton responded imdiately.
"We don’t know how long we’ll be collaborating, if you’re already fed up with so soon, what will you do next?"
"Next, I—"
Evelyn Clayton couldn’t continue, "I’ll change, alright?"
The atmosphere relaxed a bit, and Jas Grant casually asked, "Why the sudden thought of collaborating with The Grant Group? Though sizable, it’s not the best option."
Evelyn Clayton spread her hands, "You’ll have to go ho and ask; it’s your dad’s intention."
"Hmm?"
Evelyn Clayton briefly outlined the process, causing Jas Grant to shake his head with a slight smile.
To bring together Evelyn Clayton and Matthew Sullivan, Harrison Grant really used every ans possible—a testant to his effort.
Jas Grant looked down, laughing, "Next ti sothing like this happens, discuss it with in advance so I’m not caught off guard."
Evelyn Clayton didn’t see a hint of surprise in him, but she still nodded.
"Definitely next ti, but even if we discuss it, what’s the point? Can you refuse him?"
Evelyn Clayton could refuse Harrison Grant, but she couldn’t refuse an opportunity to make money.
Jas Grant laughed, "No need. Just discuss it with in advance, so I’m not taken by surprise."
"Alright." Evelyn Clayton pursed her lips, "Do you and Matthew Sullivan clash so much? You’re at odds even in business."
She wasn’t sure if she saw it correctly, but it seed that Jas Grant sneered.
"He’s not qualified to be my opponent."
Evelyn Clayton was just about to continue questioning when she received a call from Harrison Grant, asking her to help deliver materials to Matthew Sullivan.
When Evelyn Clayton arrived at Matthew Sullivan’s office, she heard Iris Lockwood pestering him, asking why he hadn’t been paying attention to her lately.
Matthew Sullivan was so troubled that he almost called security several tis.
"Marcus, are you really going to call security to kick out? How can you be so heartless to ..." Iris Lockwood sniffled, feigning sadness, "Then I’ll just have to reveal our relationship to the world."
