Evelyn Clayton pondered for a mont, "Uncle Grant, let think about it."

Seeing her relent, Harrison Grant nodded in satisfaction.

"Alright. It’s okay to take as long as you need. Can you let know within a week?"

Evelyn felt uneasy.

Things she never used to mind were gradually coming to light.

Harrison Grant claid to take care of her and respect her wishes, but in reality, he had always been morally coercing her, making decisions on her behalf.

Including marriage, including work.

First, he said it was okay to consider it for as long as she wanted, then he asked for an answer within a week.

"Evelyn, it’s not that Uncle is pressuring you, it’s just that this matter is urgent and important. You need to give an answer soon. If you don’t want to do it, I can find soone else."

Evelyn nodded and politely bade Harrison farewell.

She found Yara Reagan in a jewelry store.

Yara quickly took off the earrings she was trying on, "You’re done talking?"

"Mm."

"What did he say? Did he ask you to marry Matthew Sullivan?"

"No, but it’s close."

Evelyn told Yara about the Starry Night Project’s artistic director position.

Yara touched her chin thoughtfully.

"Why do I feel there’s sothing fishy about this? While it’s his company, and it’s reasonable for him to appoint you as the artistic director, his intentions seem more complex than that... Ah, I don’t know, do you want to go?"

"I’m considering it."

Since she needed to investigate, it would certainly be easier to gather information around Harrison Grant.

But working at The Grant Group would an running into Matthew Sullivan and Jas Grant every day.

At that point, the investigation wouldn’t be the only problem; their complicated relationships would be too.

Yara received a call and dragged Evelyn back to the studio, "Damn it, one of our paintings got damaged after we sold it, and the buyer wants us to pay compensation. They’re dreaming! I’ll go back and check the surveillance to prove it’s the courier company’s fault—the painting was intact when it left our studio!"

They hurried back to the studio, only to find an unexpected guest— Iris Lockwood.

Iris wore heavy makeup, a short skirt, and sunglasses, dressed like a striking celebrity.

Yara, recognizing Iris, deliberately bumped into her, "Excuse , who’s this?"

"My outfit is a limited edition; you can’t afford it if you tear it!" Iris shrieked, sidestepping and arrogantly removing her sunglasses, eyeing Evelyn up and down. "You, co over here."

Evelyn rolled her eyes and walked directly into the studio without responding.

"Evelyn Clayton! Didn’t you hear talking to you?!"

Iris stomped her foot in anger.

"Didn’t hear."

Yara wanted to chase Iris out, but Evelyn stopped her.

"You go check the surveillance; I’ll handle her."

"Can you do it?" Yara was very worried.

"Of course." Evelyn smiled, "Go on, don’t worry."

Yara rushed into the office, and Evelyn’s expression instantly turned cold.

"Go on, what’s the matter this ti."

"Evelyn Clayton, what did you promise ? Didn’t you agree to set up and Marcus? Now that Marcus avoids like the plague. You can forget about getting your dad’s watch ever again."

Iris got riled up ntioning it. Every day, she punctually hinted at Marcus to et her for dinner, but Marcus always said he was working late and had no ti.

She hadn’t seen Marcus for a week!

Evelyn looked up at her, eyes filled with disdain.

"Iris Lockwood, if you threaten with my dad’s watch again, we’ll go down together. I’ll tell the Grant Family all the shady things you’ve done, and you’ll never step into their house again in your life!"
