Evelyn Clayton was stunned, she hadn’t expected to encounter Harrison Grant.
Harrison Grant evidently didn’t expect to run into her here either, as he quickly walked up to her to greet her.
It was usually Evelyn Clayton who took the initiative to greet him, but today it was the other way around.
This showed that Harrison Grant was feeling guilty.
Harrison Grant had a slight sweat on his brow, "What a coincidence, I haven’t seen you for a few days."
"I’ve been busy with work, Uncle Grant."
Without evidence, she maintained her usual respect towards Harrison Grant.
"Oh. Can I ask your friend to step aside?"
"Sure. I’ll go over there to check out so jewelry, you two chat." Yara Reagan tactfully walked away.
Seeing her usual respectful expression, Harrison Grant slightly relaxed.
"By the way, what were you doing last night? I called you but you didn’t pick up."
"Really? Maybe my phone was broken." Evelyn Clayton feigned surprise, imdiately taking out her phone to show him.
Harrison Grant didn’t dare let her check since he never called and quickly stopped her hand, "No need to check. Uncle Grant trusts you, but have you t with Jas Grant in the past few days?"
"Yes. Last night."
Harrison Grant clenched his hand, "Did he say anything to you?"
"What was he supposed to say? We just dealt with Cindy Owens’ issue together."
Harrison Grant nodded, completely relieved.
"Uncle Grant, what’s the matter, did sothing happen?" Evelyn Clayton asked innocently.
Harrison Grant just said it was nothing, then pretended to warn Evelyn Clayton to think it over again.
"When it cos down to it, Marcus is the best match for you. Jas Grant is full of tricks, and he will have countless won in the future. Uncle Grant doesn’t want you to marry him so you don’t get wronged."
"Uncle Grant, I’ve already made up my mind on this. You don’t need to persuade anymore." Evelyn Clayton said softly, but her gaze was firm.
After what happened last night, she beca even more certain sothing unknown awaited her discovery.
To uncover the truth, she must integrate into the Grant Family, and marrying Jas Grant would be the best way.
Even if not for herself, to find out the truth about her father’s heart, she must marry Jas Grant.
"You child—" Harrison Grant shook his head, a plan forming in his mind, "Evelyn, The Grant Group is planning to launch the Star Project to select and nurture talented people nationwide. I want you to be the artistic director for this plan."
"Uncle Grant, I rember The Grant Group’s artistic directors are usually chosen from international designers first."
"Yes, but I want to cultivate more local designers. Didn’t your studio also handle similar projects? You should be able to handle it with ease, or do you find this project to be burdenso and unrewarding and don’t want to do it?"
"Of course not." Evelyn Clayton smiled lightly, "As for the position of artistic director, can you make that decision on your own, Uncle Grant? Shouldn’t there be an internal competition?"
"What’s the big deal? It’s unnecessary, if you want to do it, I’ll let you do it."
There’s no such thing as a free lunch; whereas previously Evelyn Clayton thought Harrison Grant took special care of her because of her father, now she truly wondered what Harrison Grant wanted from her?
What was the reason he insisted she marry into the Grant Family?
"Evelyn, Evelyn!"
Seeing Evelyn Clayton silent, Harrison Grant persuaded, "By collaborating with The Grant Group, you can not only enhance your studio’s value and business but also properly assess who’s more suitable for you to marry. Marcus and Jas Grant have vastly different work attitudes."
