Evelyn Clayton’s scalp exploded.

She vaguely looked at the chaotic scene before her, wanting to approach the passerby who had just spoken to ask questions, but the last shred of reason held her back, and she stood still.

Rhys Jacobs appeared at so point, grabbing Evelyn Clayton’s wrist without a word and leading her away from the scene.

They arrived at a café across the street, which was usually crowded with people, but now only a few waitstaff were left, curiously looking across the street at the doorway.

Seeing them enter, one of the waitstaff couldn’t help but ask, "Did you co from over there? I heard soone jumped from a building, is that true?"

"Not sure," Rhys Jacobs replied in a deep voice, "Two Aricanos, delivered to the second floor, please."

After speaking, Rhys Jacobs looked back at Evelyn Clayton, noting that though she seed dazed, she was still conscious.

He whispered, "Director Clayton, let’s talk upstairs."

Evelyn Clayton snapped out of it, pursing her pale lips, and went upstairs with Rhys Jacobs.

After sitting down, Rhys Jacobs looked at Evelyn Clayton’s devastated expression and said in a low voice, "Director Clayton, the latest news online just ca out, the person who died... it’s indeed Julia Lawrence."

The sudden departure of a forr colleague left Rhys Jacobs astonished; he paused before continuing, "Julia Lawrence jumped from the 26th floor, and the 26th floor was vacant..."

At this point, Rhys Jacobs didn’t know how to continue.

Evelyn Clayton’s Adam’s apple moved, feeling incredibly dry, she struggled to ask, "And? Why did she...?"

"It’s hard to say," Rhys Jacobs frowned, "But for now, few people know she was once a Gem employee, but this can’t be hidden. We have to figure out sothing, or this will backfire on us—"

Evelyn Clayton slowly regained her composure.

Julia Lawrence was dead, whether it was a suicide or sothing else was unclear, but if this incident was forced into the open, Gem would be put in a passive situation.

Countless accusations would be thrown at Gem.

Evelyn Clayton took a deep breath, "Prepare to go to the city police departnt, find out if the deceased is truly Julia Lawrence, then prepare a press release. We must take the initiative."

The Aricano was delivered by the waitstaff downstairs, Evelyn Clayton took it and drank it all in one go, Rhys Jacobs followed suit.

Neither of them even tasted how bitter the coffee was, hurriedly settled the bill, and left the café.

anwhile, Yara Reagan, absent-minded, finished tidying up the venue and saw off the dia and guests before calling Evelyn Clayton and Rhys Jacobs.

But neither of them answered.

A few minutes later, Rhys Jacobs sent a ssage in the company’s group chat.

Instructing employees to work from ho and not to go to the office, then asked the PR departnt to prepare as there might be a release.

Yara Reagan knew what was going on after seeing this, cald herself for a mont, and found old Wang.

She didn’t ntion Julia Lawrence, only said there might be an issue at the company building and that she couldn’t return for the ti being, asking old Wang to take the setup materials to the factory first and then went to find Iris Lockwood.

Iris Lockwood was still talking to her artist, not having had the chance to check her phone and was unaware of what had happened.

"Help send all the models back first, the final paynt will be settled with the models by tomorrow at the latest, then go to Evelyn’s house and wait for us, there’s sothing to talk about later."

After explaining, Yara Reagan turned and left.

Iris Lockwood didn’t even have ti to ask what was happening, only staring blankly as Yara Reagan’s figure disappeared into the distance.
