Evelyn Clayton’s mind turned for a mont, and then she naturally displayed a surprised expression.
"Where did you hear that?"
Violet Ford’s voice lowered even more, "In any case, if you really want to investigate the mastermind behind John Jacobs, that Lars Alden is a breakthrough, and his wife is also a good leverage—perhaps saying this makes sowhat despicable, but it truly is a good opportunity."
"Now it depends on whether you have the thought to do sothing about it."
Violet Ford looked at Evelyn Clayton, as if scrutinizing, or perhaps probing.
Evelyn Clayton had no intention to say more to Violet Ford, so naturally, she couldn’t give a better answer.
After all, from the beginning, her purpose of finding John Jacobs was not for that kidnapping.
She wanted to confirm whether Sumr Monroe was actually the mastermind.
By now, she was quite certain.
"Thank you for your trouble recently, Violet. But right now, our most important matter is the company; we can discuss these things later." Evelyn Clayton smiled mildly, "Don’t you think that makes sense?"
Violet Ford showed a bit of appreciation, "Indeed, you are the person I appreciate, clear-headed and rational."
As she spoke, her gaze fell on Franklin Ford and Yara Reagan not far away.
At this sight, Violet Ford sensed sothing was wrong.
Franklin Ford was looking down at Yara Reagan, and that gaze was rather unusual.
"Franklin and Yara seem quite talkative." Violet Ford said ambiguously, with a smile, "Evelyn, don’t you think so?"
Evelyn Clayton looked over without showing any expression, just in ti to see Franklin Ford raise his hand to adjust the crystal hairpin on Yara Reagan’s head.
"It seems so." Evelyn Clayton wasn’t sure what was on Violet Ford’s mind, so she didn’t say much, "Director Ford is a very inclusive and gentle person."
Violet Ford glanced at her with a smile, then turned her gaze back to Yara Reagan and Franklin Ford.
"No, I’ve never seen Franklin express his emotions so openly." Violet Ford said, as the smile on her face slowly turned into contemplation.
Evelyn Clayton instinctively felt sothing was off, just as she was about to say sothing, her thoughts were interrupted.
The living room doors of the Grant family’s old residence opened, and the music from the garden grew slightly louder.
Shirley Owens and Jasper Grant erged, arm in arm.
As soon as these two appeared, many of the ladies attending the birthday celebration crowded over, making the atmosphere all the more lively.
Seeing this scene, Violet Ford’s attention was turned away from Yara Reagan.
She looked at the bustling scene with an inscrutable smile, saying, "Recently, this Mrs. Owens and her son have really been in the lilight. With the elder Grant son absent, it’s finally the second son’s ti to shine."
Evelyn Clayton swirled the champagne in her glass, teasing with a smile, "Seems like Violet, you don’t quite like Mrs. Owens and the second son?"
"Of course not." Violet Ford was straightforward in this regard, "Though I’ve never judged success based on background, Shirley Owens’ tactics back then were too underhanded."
Evelyn Clayton felt a slight stir in her heart.
It seed Violet Ford knew quite a bit about the Grant family’s affairs.
She casually remarked, "I only heard Mrs. Owens and Director Grant were in their second marriage, what’s the story there?"
"You don’t know?" Violet Ford looked sowhat surprised, "Back then, Harrison Grant’s original wife passed away, depressed and grief-stricken, because Shirley Owens intervened as a mistress."
Evelyn Clayton was slightly stunned.
She thought of Jas Grant, and for a mont didn’t know how to feel.
This matter, Jas had never brought up with her.
