Once they left the police station, Lucy Carter had already disappeared without a trace.

Yara Reagan and Rhys Jacobs were waiting outside for Evelyn Clayton. After the three of them got in the car, Yara finally spoke worriedly.

"Are we really waiting for Lucy to sue us? We haven’t even hired a lawyer yet."

Evelyn Clayton chuckled softly, "If she really dared to sue, she would have filed the lawsuit when this first ca out. She has dragged it out until now because she wants sothing else."

Rhys Jacobs started the car and agreed, "That’s right. So now we just wait and see how things develop. No need to worry, Director Reagan."

After speaking, Rhys’s tone beca more serious, "Director Clayton, I just received a ssage from Quentin Hale, the assistant to Director Grant, saying that three days from now is Chairman Grant’s birthday celebration, and he hopes you can attend."

Evelyn Clayton paused slightly, "Chairman Grant? You an, Harrison Grant?"

Rhys stayed silent for three seconds, "Most likely."

Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan exchanged a glance, "Did Quentin say anything else?"

"He only ntioned attending the birthday celebration, nothing else," Rhys showed so real confusion, "I rember previously, didn’t Director Grant already have a falling out with his family—"

He hesitated, perhaps unable to find the right words.

Evelyn Clayton’s eyebrows knitted slightly, while Yara said irritably, "Fathers and sons fight, how long can that last? Looks like they’ve made up, and Jas Grant is going ho."

Saying so, Yara looked at Evelyn Clayton again, "My advice is not to go; there’s no need to put up with that. What do you think?"

After pondering for a while, Evelyn Clayton slowly said, "No need to reply for now, let think about it."

After returning to the company, Evelyn Clayton thought deeply for a long ti before calling Jas Grant.

When it ca to Harrison Grant’s birthday celebration, Jas Grant just chuckled lightly.

"Don’t misunderstand, I’m not shalessly going back," Jas said casually, "I’m going back to handle so business. By the way, I had Quentin send you an invitation, and you haven’t replied yet."

Evelyn Clayton raised her eyebrows, her tone inscrutable, "You sent the invitation, not Harrison Grant. Do you think he wants to see ?"

"Why wouldn’t he?" Jas’s voice deepened a bit, "You’re the new rising star in the design world, maybe you could even discuss a collaboration with Harrison Grant. Compared to the Yates Family, Atlas Group is much stronger, aren’t you tempted?"

Evelyn Clayton sensed so hidden anings in Jas’s words, narrowing her eyes slightly, "What are you going back there to do?"

Jas laughed lowly, "If you go, you’ll find out, won’t you?"

He quickly hung up, leaving Evelyn tapping her fingers lightly on the desk, a trace of indescribable irritation in her eyes.

She felt that Jas was plotting sothing big...

That evening, as she returned ho, Iris Lockwood unexpectedly showed up.

As soon as she entered, she hurried anxiously to Evelyn Clayton, pulling out a paper invitation.

"Look what this is!" Iris Lockwood was like she’d seen a ghost, "Harrison Grant’s 55th birthday, inviting to attend as Aegis President!"

Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow, "That’s to be expected."

Iris looked a bit panicked, "But didn’t we just have—Harrison Grant wouldn’t be looking to cause trouble for , would he?"

"He wouldn’t go that far," Evelyn reassured her, "Soone of Harrison Grant’s stature wouldn’t do sothing outlandish to ruin his own birthday celebration. At most, he’ll call you over to give you a reality check, make you uneasy at most."

Iris beca more frantic, "Should I decline, then? Just send a gift over on that day, I, I don’t dare..."
