The next day.
"The police called, they’ve found John Jacobs’ whereabouts!"
Yara Reagan burst into Evelyn Clayton’s office early in the morning, panting as she spoke.
Evelyn Clayton perked up, "Where is he?!"
"They said he’s already gone to the neighboring Y Province! But the police in Y Province have tracked him down and should catch him in no ti!"
Evelyn Clayton nodded repeatedly, "That’s good, that’s good."
Yara Reagan hesitated a bit, "But there’s another issue at Vanreid. They’ve temporarily closed the factory. Jim Young was supposed to be watching over it, but he had a small conflict with the people who ca to close it..."
Evelyn Clayton frowned, "What’s the situation now?"
"He’s staying inside the factory for now, but no one can get in or out." Yara Reagan sighed, "I’ve already asked Rhys Jacobs to handle it, don’t worry."
Evelyn Clayton pinched the bridge of her nose, "No, we still need to find John Jacobs as soon as possible."
Otherwise, without the necessary docunts, the factory is almost useless.
After pondering for a mont, Evelyn Clayton said, "I’ll go to Y Province to assist with the police investigation, and try to et John Jacobs as soon as possible to have him sign the official transfer docunts."
Yara Reagan hesitated slightly, "Huh? You’re going personally?"
"What else can I do, I’m the company’s legal representative," Evelyn Clayton sighed, "I have to go. Help book a ticket, as soon as possible."
There was no choice, so Yara Reagan agreed.
After booking a ticket for an evening departure, Evelyn Clayton organized her work tasks, held a brief eting to assure her colleagues she would handle her duties remotely, and instructed them to continue as usual.
After taking care of everything, she went ho to pack her bags.
Evelyn Clayton didn’t ask Yara Reagan to take her to the airport, but as she left, she noticed signs of rain.
During rush hour, Evelyn Clayton hailed a cab but got stuck in heavy traffic.
Ti ticked by on the overpass and she realized she might miss her flight.
With only an hour left, Evelyn Clayton almost gave up.
There were still about twenty minutes to the airport, plus at least thirty minutes due to traffic, and then check-in and security clearance...
Evelyn Clayton rubbed her temples and decided to have the driver turn back.
She would have to reschedule...
The cab returned to the complex, and as Evelyn Clayton got out with her luggage, she saw Jas Grant’s McLaren parked at the entrance.
Her eyes flashed with surprise, and then her face turned slightly dark.
Just as she was about to pretend not to see him and leave, Jas Grant got out of the car.
With the rain starting to fall, Jas Grant quickly approached her, naturally reaching for her luggage.
Evelyn Clayton stubbornly held onto the suitcase handle, refusing to let go, "How did you know I’d co back?"
Jas Grant cleared his throat, looking a bit uneasy, "I knew you were going on a business trip, ca to see you off, but you were already in a taxi when I got here..."
Evelyn Clayton listened, then laughed angrily, "You followed all the way?!"
"Yes." Jas Grant admitted straightforwardly, "But, why did you co back?"
Evelyn Clayton ignored him and continued walking.
Jas Grant followed her step by step, holding an umbrella for her, showing a bit of eagerness.
Already frustrated by the flight delay, Evelyn Clayton turned to glare at Jas Grant, asking impatiently, "What do you want?"
Startled, Jas Grant’s eyes flickered slightly.
Then, in a sowhat hoarse voice, he said, "If you’re in a hurry, I can take you to Y Province?"
Evelyn Clayton was taken aback.
"How?"
Jas Grant gave a mysterious smile, "Just co with ."
