Evelyn Clayton didn’t say much to Iris Lockwood, she just glanced at Jas Grant’s expression.
"It’s fine." Jas Grant’s smile remained, but there was a distinct coldness in his eyes.
Watching the two of them being so confrontational, Evelyn Clayton found it inexplicably funny.
Suppressing her laughter, Evelyn casually turned on the TV in the living room and said blandly, "Eat, Jas Grant, and leave when you’re done. Don’t linger."
Iris Lockwood snorted triumphantly.
Jas Grant’s face darkened slightly. He wanted to say sothing, but he forced himself to hold back.
Iris Lockwood and Evelyn Clayton were good friends; if she were to talk about him behind his back...
Jas Grant told himself hundreds of tis to let it go and focused all his attention on the television.
Earlier in the day, Iris watched cartoons, and as soon as she turned it on, childish music filled the room.
Jas Grant sneered softly at this, his disdain evident.
Iris Lockwood’s face turned red, and she hurriedly grabbed the remote to change the channel.
The TV screen flickered twice, before Iris Lockwood put down the remote, lowered her head to eat, and cursed Jas Grant’s ancestors quietly in her heart.
However, at that mont, the TV’s ad ended, and the female news anchor’s voice ca across smoothly and coldly—
"At six o’clock this afternoon, the new president of Atlas Group held a press conference at The Grant Tower to respond to recent issues of tax evasion by Atlas Group..."
The dining table fell silent for two seconds, and both Evelyn Clayton and Jas Grant turned to look at the TV screen.
Even Iris Lockwood paused for a mont and looked over.
The screen had switched, showing a video of Jasper Grant at the press conference.
On screen, Jasper Grant appeared composed and unperturbed, his tone calm yet firm when answering reporters’ questions. He was clear and organized, not falling into any traps laid by the reporters.
Iris Lockwood watched in amazent and couldn’t resist taking out her phone to check.
"Wow, Jas Grant, the online opinions about your family have completely shifted; they’re all praising your brother." Iris Lockwood clicked her tongue in wonder, "Your brother is really impressive."
She spoke with a hint of sarcasm and handed her phone to Evelyn Clayton, "Look!"
Evelyn Clayton put down her chopsticks, silently took the phone, and started to scroll through it.
Sure enough, because of Jasper Grant’s statent, the online comntary had completely turned around.
So praised Jasper Grant’s looks, so said their values followed their eyes, and others remarked that Atlas Group’s calm response suggested it wasn’t a big deal.
Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow slightly, instinctively glancing at Jas Grant.
Their eyes unexpectedly t.
"Jasper Grant has excellent abilities." Evelyn Clayton’s tone was calm, as if praising, but also stating a fact.
Yet Jas Grant didn’t respond, only remained silent for a while, before lowering his gaze.
Taking the opportunity, Iris Lockwood egged him on, "What, are you jealous of his abilities, Jas Grant?"
Jas Grant glanced at Iris Lockwood, and Iris instantly went silent, guiltily averting her eyes.
Seeing this, Evelyn Clayton was slightly moved, her tone softening a bit, "Jas Grant, Jasper Grant’s ability is entirely enough to take charge... No matter what, at least you don’t have to worry about Atlas."
She knew that Atlas Group was the legacy of his mother.
Perhaps, Jas Grant didn’t want Jasper Grant to take the helm? Or maybe, he was still waiting for Harrison Grant to bow down?
Nonetheless, Jas Grant remained silent for a long ti.
When he spoke again, there was a faint mocking laugh in his tone.
"Do you think anyone’s ability suddenly appears out of nowhere?"
Evelyn Clayton was slightly stunned on the spot.
