Yara Reagan’s face imdiately changed color, and she snorted lightly, "What do you an by that? Are you saying we are bound to beco enemies sooner or later?"

"How could that be?" Evelyn Clayton was caught between laughing and crying, her expression turned more serious, "You’re not a friend, you’re family."

Yara Reagan was finally satisfied.

But after the satisfaction, Yara still seed a bit deflated.

She fiddled with the handle of her cup, hesitating and stamring.

Evelyn Clayton was about to check her emails at her desk but hadn’t opened them yet. Seeing Yara Reagan looking as if she wanted to say sothing but stopped, she said, "Just say what you want to say."

"I still think Franklin Ford is very generous to you. Look, you even ntioned it in the conference room, Gem is just starting, everything is uncertain, how could he be willing to take such a big gamble?"

Evelyn Clayton found it amusing, squinting her eyes to study Yara for a while, and then approached her teasingly, whispering, "Why does it feel like you’re jealous?"

"I’m not! Don’t say nonsense, or I’ll sue you for slander, I’m telling you!"

Yara Reagan said it all in one breath without even pausing, yet her earlobes and cheeks turned a strange shade of red.

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t stop laughing, "Just kidding, don’t get so worked up."

"Don’t joke around like that! If you ask , Franklin Ford must be interested in you, otherwise, he wouldn’t be so generous!" Yara Reagan shouted in an embarrassed rage.

As soon as she finished speaking, the door to Evelyn’s office sounded.

Both of them instinctively looked over, only to faintly hear Rhys Jacobs’s voice from outside: "Without an appointnt, you can’t go in—"

However, before Rhys Jacobs finished speaking, the door was already opened by soone.

Jas Grant walked in unexpectedly.

Behind him was Rhys Jacobs, whose brow was furrowed tightly.

Yara Reagan was dumbstruck, frozen on the spot.

Evelyn Clayton also slowly regained her composure from the shock, her throat seed blocked, and only after a while did she find her voice again.

She furrowed her brows, "Director Grant, do you have any business here?"

Jas Grant’s dark gaze was fixed tightly on Evelyn Clayton, with an intimidating air pressure.

When Yara Reagan saw Jas Grant’s expression, she knew that he probably heard most of what she just said.

To avoid collateral damage, Yara laughed a couple of tis, grabbed her coffee, and ran, "Director Grant and Director Clayton, have a nice chat! Director Reagan will be leaving first! I’m leaving, I’m leaving..."

Not only did Yara leave, but she also kindly closed the door for them.

Jas Grant’s slender eyes narrowed slightly, lingering around Evelyn’s brows for a long ti before he suddenly smiled, "Director Clayton... I ca specifically to congratulate you. The exhibition was a great success, and Gem’s future is promising."

"Thank you." Evelyn Clayton spoke coldly, without any emotion, "Is Director Grant finished? Can you leave now?"

After speaking, Evelyn Clayton glanced out the window.

So of the design team mbers were sneakily peeking over, very curious about what was happening in the general manager’s office.

Evelyn Clayton forcibly suppressed the urge to kick Jas Grant out, enduring patiently for Jas Grant to reply.

Unlike the dejection from the last eting, Jas Grant this ti seed very calm and composed.

He sauntered to the sofa and sat down, looking as if he was about to pour himself a cup of coffee the next mont.

Just as Evelyn Clayton’s patience was about to run out, Jas Grant spoke softly, "Director Clayton, now that you have your own company, do you still rember when you worked at Atlas Group, you also benefited from Atlas’s favors?"

Evelyn Clayton slightly frowned, realizing what he ant, and a wave of anger surged instantly.

She laughed in extre anger, "Oh, so Director Grant ca today specifically to remind to repay a favor?"

Jas Grant’s hand on his knee slightly clenched, and then relaxed, after a long pause he said, "No, it’s not that."

He paused, and when he spoke again, there was a faint hesitation in his voice, "I an to say, at least in the future, don’t keep at a thousand miles away."

"Sorry, I can’t do that." Evelyn Clayton strode forward, opened the office door, and raised her voice slightly.

"If Director Grant wants to discuss business, please make an appointnt with my assistant Rhys Jacobs first. If it’s to talk about trivial matters, then please don’t co again in the future, take care."
