In the evening, Evelyn Clayton went to Yara Reagan’s house, where Yara was personally cooking in the kitchen.
Not only had she invited Iris Lockwood, but she had also asked Rhys Jacobs to co along. It was a way to welco the new colleague and, at the sa ti, rally the boss and employees to convince this rising star in the modeling world, Iris Lockwood.
Iris arrived right on ti, wearing a fitted black crop top paired with cargo pants. Her long hair was braided, and her makeup had a dark edge, showcasing the latest trendy ’spicy girl’ look.
As soon as she stepped in, she shouted that she was starving, tossed her bag at the entrance, and dashed towards the sofa. She suddenly stopped halfway, staring blankly at the unfamiliar Rhys Jacobs.
"Wow, you’re dressed so trendy, just looking at you makes feel like I’ll catch a chill." Yara called out with a smile from the kitchen, pointing at Rhys, "Let introduce you, this is Director Clayton’s new assistant, Rhys Jacobs."
Iris looked at Rhys as if she had discovered a new continent, sizing him up back and forth.
Rhys, usually composed, seed a bit flustered now, pushed his glasses up, and stood up, his voice dry, "Hello, Miss Lockwood."
"Hello, hello." Iris smiled with her eyes almost disappearing, "You’re handso."
Rhys blushed deeply, even more unsure of what to do with his hands and feet.
Evelyn smiled helplessly, "Assistant Rhys, I forgot to ntion, Iris is my sister and the finale model for our fashion show this ti."
Rhys nodded, regaining so of his composure, "Miss Lockwood, if it’s convenient, maybe we could exchange contacts later."
"Hold on." Iris finally ca to her senses, "I heard you guys are putting on another show, don’t tell you invited specifically for that today?"
Yara brought out a bowl of sliced fruits and placed it on the table, chuckling lightly, "Yes, look at the influence you have."
Iris rolled her eyes at Yara, then looked at Evelyn with a bit of hesitation, "When exactly is it?"
"The day after tomorrow." Evelyn said earnestly, "I invited you to see if we could discuss—"
"Wait, wait, wait." Iris raised her hand to interrupt Evelyn, looking troubled, "Why didn’t you tell earlier? I have a shoot abroad, the flight is tomorrow night, and I’ll arrive just in ti the morning of the day after. Even if I could fly myself, I couldn’t make it back."
Evelyn paused, "Huh?"
She rarely found herself in such a daze, but Rhys reacted quickly, his expression a bit more serious, "Director Clayton, since this is the situation, we should consider quickly contacting other models."
Evelyn collected herself, massaging her temples, "That’s my fault, I should have reached out to you sooner."
Iris looked a bit embarrassed, "Sorry, I didn’t know you were still going to invite . I thought since there was no news for so long, you didn’t need anymore."
"How could I bla you? It’s been , spinning around like a top, being negligent." Evelyn gave a bitter smile, "But speaking of which, do you know any models similar to you who could step in?"
Iris imdiately said, "I’ll ask around for you!"
Evelyn hurriedly added, "Walk the show first, settle the paynt afterward."
Now it was Iris’s turn to be dumbfounded, "Huh? Why’s that?"
Evelyn spoke sincerely and frankly, "Because I’m almost out of money. I need to keep so aside to pay the employees, for ergencies, can’t spend it all."
"But, but that’s not in line with market rules. If it were , you wouldn’t even have to pay , but others might not be the sa." Iris looked quite troubled, "Why don’t I lend you so money first?"
Rhys responded earnestly, "I wouldn’t recomnd that, borrowing and lending can be very troubleso. It has to enter the company’s account first, then paid to the model, and later repaynt also becos complicated."
Iris was stunned for a mont, looking at Evelyn, when suddenly an idea sparked.
