Upon hearing this, Evelyn Clayton’s eyes slightly shifted, and the hand hanging by her side tightened slightly.

"You said the Yates Family has withdrawn their support for Jas Grant?"

"What, did you think the people of the Yates Family were fools? Haven’t you been using Jas Grant as your capital, manipulating him to protect you up until now?" Sumr Monroe glared at Evelyn Clayton darkly. "If it weren’t for Jas Grant and Lynn Yates performing this drama together, you’d have been done long ago."

Evelyn Clayton looked at Sumr Monroe, finding it utterly laughable.

Facing soone like this, she saw no need to argue.

"Sumr Monroe, I don’t care how you see . But weren’t you previously infatuated with Jas Grant, unable to extricate yourself?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow, taunting as she looked at Sumr Monroe. "What, finally saw the truth, and now you want to destroy what you can’t obtain?"

Sumr Monroe’s face turned livid when her sore spot was hit: "You! Evelyn Clayton, don’t get cocky! When Lynn Yates can no longer tolerate you, you’ll be finished!"

Evelyn Clayton scoffed, her delicate face full of disdain, a faint light flickering in her phoenix eyes: "That’s between and Lynn Yates, what does it have to do with you?"

Sumr Monroe was breathless with anger, her chest heaving, unable to say another word.

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t be bothered to speak another word to her, turned to leave, but halfway through, she rembered sothing and suddenly stopped.

She didn’t look at Sumr Monroe, just lightly chuckled and said, "Sumr Monroe, if you keep viewing all relationships as transactions and don’t know how to repent, you’re destined never to et soone who truly matches your heart."

After speaking, Evelyn Clayton walked away with long strides.

Sumr Monroe stood still, her beautiful face full of incredulous rage.

Evelyn Clayton actually dared to say she wouldn’t et soone who truly matched her heart...

How dare she?!

Sumr Monroe bit down hard on her silver teeth, and after a long ti, a sinister smile appeared on her increasingly twisted face as she thought of sothing.

She took out her phone and dialed Lynn Yates’ number.

"Hello." Lynn Yates’ voice quickly ca through the receiver, carrying her usual business-like indifference, "Director Monroe, any particular reason for this sudden call?"

Sumr Monroe’s lips curled up, her tone slow and arrogant: "Lynn Yates, I want to make a deal with you, are you interested?"

On the other end, there was the sound of paper rustling, followed by a light chuckle from Lynn Yates: "Oh? Director Monroe has recovered so quickly from your ailnt that you’re already up to discussing business with ?"

A vein pulsed slightly on Sumr Monroe’s forehead: "Lynn Yates, let put it bluntly up-front, I’m doing you a favor!"

After a brief silence on the other end, Lynn Yates’ tone was unclear: "Let’s hear what Director Monroe has to say?"

Hearing this, Sumr Monroe assud Lynn Yates was interested, and a confident smile played on her lips.

"Your fiancé still has lingering feelings for Evelyn Clayton, you know. The marriage alliance between the Grant and Yates families is public knowledge, and you wouldn’t want the Yates Family embarrassed in front of the public, would you?"

...

Upon returning ho, Yara Reagan, who had been waiting for a long ti, eagerly approached, asking about the cooperation details.

Evelyn Clayton smiled and took out the contract for Yara Reagan to see.

After reading it all at once, Yara Reagan finally felt relieved and exclaid repeatedly, "Fantastic, fantastic! Evelyn, you’re simply my savior!"

Evelyn Clayton concealed the weariness in her eyes, trying her best to act as if nothing was wrong: "I’m going to sleep now. I had a bit to drink today and I’m a little tired."

Only then did Yara Reagan notice sothing amiss and looked at her, "Evelyn, what’s wrong, aren’t you happy?"

However, Evelyn Clayton had already entered her bedroom and closed the door.

Entering the bathroom, Evelyn Clayton looked at her reflection in the mirror, at her exquisitely made-up face; half an hour ago, she was still joyous about sealing the deal, but now it just seed ironic.

Was it her, who hindered Jas Grant?
