Evelyn Clayton scoffed, "How can I trust you? You have no credibility with ."
"What use would there be in deceiving you? What I want is a long-term partnership."
"But I see no sincerity in you."
"I can’t speak for other things, but I am definitely a partner who keeps his word. As long as you abide by the contract, I will give you a return beyond the contract."
Jas Grant confidently smirked, as if he was sure Evelyn Clayton wouldn’t refuse.
And indeed, Evelyn Clayton was wavering.
Thirty million in compensation, plus Jas Grant’s promise, after considering it, she compromised.
In fact, she also had her own motives, considering that Jas Grant’s connections weren’t small, which could expand their studio’s client base.
Jas Grant could use her, and she could use Jas Grant. That’s a win-win.
"Alright."
"It’s a deal."
Jas Grant opened the food box, placing it in front of her.
The food was still warm, and the aroma was tantalizing.
Evelyn Clayton glanced at the dishes, surprisingly, they were all her favorites.
"There’s a charity banquet at the company tomorrow night. Accompany ," Jas Grant casually draped his hand on Evelyn Clayton’s chair.
Noticing his action, Evelyn Clayton imdiately jumped up.
"What are you doing?" Evelyn Clayton dodged warily.
Jas Grant directly pulled her by the shoulder, "Don’t overreact. I’ve arranged for many reporters tomorrow. You need to refine your acting skills."
"My acting is great, it’s you who affects my performance." Evelyn Clayton slapped his hand away.
"Then let test you now." Jas Grant picked up a piece of at and offered it to Evelyn Clayton, his tone gentle and lingering, "Co, impromptu performance."
If she didn’t know it was a rehearsal, Evelyn Clayton would almost think Jas Grant had changed.
She grudgingly ate it, even showing a standard smile, revealing perfectly aligned eight teeth.
"Delicious."
On the other side, Yara Reagan guessed they were done talking and returned with coffee.
Just in ti to see the scene of Jas Grant feeding Evelyn Clayton, nearly causing her to shriek.
"Sorry, am I interrupting you?"
Hearing the voice, Evelyn Clayton imdiately pushed Jas Grant away.
"Not interrupting, we were just rehearsing."
"Rehearsing, huh~" Yara Reagan laughed aningfully.
Jas Grant thoughtfully handed her a napkin, "You two eat. I’ll leave you to your girl ti."
Before leaving, Yara Reagan waved goodbye to Jas Grant.
Evelyn Clayton had no intention of bidding farewell to him, but Jas Grant reminded her, "Please cooperate, it’s part of the rehearsal."
"Travel safely, then." Evelyn Clayton said with a blank expression, but deliberately pinched her voice.
It’s rehearsal, right? Then no matter how disgusting, he has to endure it.
Jas Grant chuckled frivolously, "Good girl, I’m off."
Good girl? Who knows how much he’s criticizing inside!
Evelyn Clayton sneered.
Big bad wolf! Pretending to be decent in front of Yara Reagan, but only knows how to wield the contract to threaten her behind the scenes.
Sure enough, as soon as Jas Grant left, Yara Reagan pressed her shoulder, "Honesty brings leniency, resistance brings severity."
Evelyn Clayton couldn’t resist Yara Reagan’s interrogation, so she had to recount the entire story, including the contract.
"Miss Yara, I’ve confessed everything, can I eat now?"
"Wait a sec."
Yara Reagan squinted at her, suddenly letting out a strange laugh, "Jas Grant went through all this trouble, could it be that he likes you?"
With those words, Evelyn Clayton almost spat out her rice.
"Yara Reagan, are you crazy? Soone like Jas Grant, his favorite person is himself, he can’t possibly like anyone else."
"That’s not necessarily true." Yara Reagan examined her eyebrows and eyes, "He’s willing to go so far as to give compensation and wants you to continue with the contract. Can’t you see it?"
"Enough, don’t talk nonsense."
So resolute was Evelyn Clayton, that Yara Reagan said nothing further.
But in her heart, she still had a lingering doubt, does Jas Grant really only see the profit?
