Evelyn Clayton listened to this and her face turned a bit unpleasant.

Since when did this man beco so pretentious?

"You know that’s not what I ant."

Neither party was in the mood to back down.

The roar of the boat engines filled the air, creating an awkward atmosphere.

"If you think I won’t be able to protect you in the future, feel free to choose again; there are plenty of opportunities. How about Matthew Sullivan?"

The smile on Evelyn Clayton’s face gradually faded, and she no longer felt like enjoying the outing.

The two parted on bad terms.

Dragging her weary body, Evelyn Clayton returned to her doorstep only to see a figure pacing in the distance.

She frowned with a hint of distaste.

It was Matthew Sullivan again, this guy truly was like a haunting ghost.

He never used to be so attentive to her, and now, how co he even followed her ho?

Evelyn Clayton walked directly to the door with a cold face.

Seeing her, Matthew Sullivan imdiately put on a smiling face.

"Evelyn, where did you go? Why are you just coming back now?"

Though it was a simple greeting, upon closer listening, it carried an interrogative tone.

"It’s none of your business."

With that, she stood at the doorway, adopting an expelling stance.

She had no intention of letting this man step foot inside her ho.

Matthew Sullivan felt a bit awkward, rubbing his nose.

"Don’t misunderstand, I didn’t an anything by it. I’m here today because my dad asked to take you out for so fun."

"I’m not going." Evelyn Clayton’s answer was straightforward and crisp.

She only felt a churn in her stomach now.

"Matthew Sullivan, do you think that just because of your dad, I’ll obediently comply? Don’t forget, you just broke up with Iris Lockwood, and now you’re so eager. Are you trying to prove you’re no good?"

Matthew Sullivan’s face turned from pale to dark.

"Evelyn, you really misunderstood. I’m here on my dad’s behalf today, but I genuinely wanted to see you too! Just tell , where do you want to go today, and I’ll accompany you!"

The disgust in Evelyn Clayton’s eyes was undisguised: "I’m going to work at the company, you better leave too, don’t bother !"

Yet Matthew Sullivan still maintained his smile: "I’ll give you a ride!"

The vein on Evelyn Clayton’s temple throbbed. She intended to ditch this persistent man and go herself, but Matthew Sullivan remained close, even using Harrison Grant to pressure her. Reluctantly, she got into Matthew Sullivan’s car.

Originally, the man behaved himself in the car, but as soon as they got out and walked into the company lobby, he imdiately reached out to wrap his arm around Evelyn Clayton’s waist.

The unexpected contact made Evelyn Clayton frown deeply.

But considering they were in a public place, she couldn’t openly lash out, so she gritted her teeth viciously.

"Get lost."

The simple, crude word didn’t deter Matthew Sullivan; instead, it made him push further.

He grinned, looking deeply at Evelyn Clayton.

"Don’t be so rough, I’m doing this for your good, I just don’t want my dad to make things difficult for you."

As he spoke, his fingers tightened, feeling the smooth, slightly warm skin of Evelyn Clayton through the thin fabric, causing his heart to skip a beat.

This scene, observed by other employees in the company, naturally beca a topic of gossip—

"This woman really isn’t simple. She previously announced her relationship with Director Grant publicly, and now she’s entangled with her ex-fiancé."

"The world of rich people is beyond us; maybe this ga is particularly thrilling, particularly exciting."

"Clothes are better when new, but people aren’t; I would say Director Sullivan must have endured humiliation at that ti."

"Yes, I think his engagent with Iris Lockwood must have been forced, but in his heart, he always loved his childhood sweetheart."
