"Crowley! Stop angering it!" Rai Hou couldn’t help but exclaim in rage.
Even he, who was usually calm and logical, was losing his cool as this was the first ti he stood in front of an actual dragon.
Thus, he failed to realize that Shye was attracting Veidrax’s attention so they could freely attack.
"At least your little invader friends have brains, unlike you, a puny human who doesn’t know his place!"
Being called a cross-eyed Void Dragon was far from pleasant, and if not for the Yon Augenn champion’s "sensible" words, Veidrax would likely have erupted in sheer fury.
Unfortunately for it, the wave of insults was far from over.
"Hah! You can’t even back up your words! You’ve missed two of your attacks on so far. I’m starting to think you really are cross-eyed!"
Although slightly panicking, Rai Hou was a smart man, and he imdiately realized that Shye was up to sothing.
Since they were safe for the mont, he took a brief pause and lost himself in thought.
This allowed him to finally discern what Shye was up to. In fact, what he thought of was even better than Shye’s initial plans.
"Everyone, Crowley is buying us ti. Let’s set as many traps as we can to delay them. If we can hold out for an hour, reinforcents should arrive—likely a regional hero or several titled adventurers." Rai Hou whisperingly explained to his slightly shivering comrades, providing a warm ray of hope in their hearts amidst the cold wintry despair.
After hearing Rai Hou’s words, the extermination party mbers managed to regather their wits, springing into action shortly after.
The traps they set were primarily movent-restricting traps from Mira and illusion traps from Rai Hou, with Walter contributing a single fla trap, even though it wasn’t particularly useful in the current situation.
Occasionally, Rai Hou would assist Shye in keeping the Void Dragon’s attention.
However, he never dared to provoke it, as he wasn’t confident in his ability to survive if it turned its wrath on him.
As claw strikes, tail swipes, and void blasts ca his way, Shye skillfully evaded them with sidesteps, backsteps, short sprints, and even brief monts of flight.
He was as nimble as a cat. This naturally annoyed the Void Dragon, Veidrax, to no end.
At this rate, it would truly end up cross-eyed, as despite relentlessly attacking Shye for ten minutes, it still hadn’t managed to land a clean hit.
"That’s it, little human! I’m done playing with you!" Veidrax raged, purple flas igniting in its eyes.
Naturally, Shye was alard.
His plan was to enrage the Void Dragon to capture and contain its attention.
However, when faced with its burning wrath, even Shye couldn’t help but tremble, his little heart shaking in anxiety despite a tough, cool, and calm exterior.
Monts later, a massive dark purple magic circle appeared before Veidrax, growing increasingly brighter with each passing second.
Then, about two seconds later, destructive purple rays materialized, snaking toward Shye as if they were alive.
In the beginning, Shye successfully evaded the void rays. However, as ti passed, more and more rays materialized, and things slowly got harder for him.
’Crap! I need to leave this damned skill’s strike zone!’
Unfortunately, [Dash Lv.5] and [Swallow Step Lv.5] wouldn’t be enough to get him out of trouble.
’Well, it’s the final floor, so I might as well go all out. Not everyone will survive, anyway…’ Shye mused, replacing the greatsword in his hand with his elental staff.
His actions naturally puzzled his party mbers and a few of the ten old n who hadn’t bothered to research Shye Crowley of the Valenzia Region beforehand, believing the Valenzians were simply overhyping his accomplishnts.
Thus, the next mont, their eyes almost popped out of their sockets as Shye disappeared and reappeared beneath Veidrax.
"HMM?!"
"DID THE YOUNG MAN JUST USE BLINK?!"
"BELFORD, WHAT’S GOING ON?!"
"LORD BELFORD, EXPLAIN!"

Naturally, Belford, the Valenzian Director, was thoroughly pleased to see the shocked and disbelieving expressions on the other directors’ faces.
However, he couldn’t fully savor the mont or respond right away, as he was still anxious and curious about what Shye would do next.
’Ninth Devastation Ray!’
Their questions were swiftly answered when a blinding tri-colored ray shot out from Shye’s staff, striking Veidrax at a lethal angle from its chest to the shoulder of its right front claw, destroying a small part of the Void Dragon’s heart.
*ROAR!*
This was naturally followed by an agony-filled roar as even for Veidrax, such a wound wasn’t sothing to scoff at, especially the part where his dragon heart was pierced.
Although it wasn’t too lethal, the wound still hurt like hell.
Promptly after, Shye sunk into a spatial tunnel, reappearing ters away from the disoriented Void Dragon.
"W-WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! HE DIDN’T EVEN CHANT!"
"LORD BELFORD! YOU MUST EXPLAIN, NOW!"
Since his golden boy wasn’t in any sort of imdiate trouble, Belford was able to montarily relax, giving him ti to enjoy the reactions of the other directors.
Then, with a suppressed smile, he spoke:
"Hmph! What’s there to explain? Haven’t I already reported the young man’s accomplishnts? I’ve also ntioned that his subclass is mage and that he was born with the [Epic]-tier talent, [Chantless Casting], just like one of our titled mbers, Frozen End."
’AHH, THAT FELT DARNED GOOD!’ Belford thought inwardly after finally getting everyone to understand how amazing his golden boy, Shye Crowley, was.
"B-But, we thought that..."
"Hahaha! What, you thought we Valenzians were exaggerating? Heh, exaggerating? We were actually holding back, keeping so of his achievents under wraps. After all, there are so ENVIOUS and MALICIOUS people out there. I had to keep him under the radar for a while so he could grow stronger without too much interference."
Hearing Belford’s words, the Kreborian Director, Barley Grant, clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his aged skin.
He was likely the one the Valenzian director had called envious and malicious.
However, he wasn’t the type to deny it.
He was, indeed, an envious bastard, and if he had known about Shye’s imnse potential—or had fully believed in what the Valenzians were saying—then Shye Crowley, despite his extraordinary talent, would never have lived to reach his full potential.
Unfortunately, it was a bit too late now, and he could only hope that Veidrax would triumph.
Barley Grant, a man rotten to the core.
