Across Shye stood a familiar smiling face.
However, there was sothing different about Siegfried, and upon closer inspection, Shye finally realized what it was.
"Hey, Sieg, you're not using a tachi anymore?"
"Yeah, I finally found the fighting style that suits best so I swapped to a katana which would allow to fight a little bit faster."
"Hoh, let's see what that new style is then."
"Gladly!"
After a few more monts, an onlooker nad Dogov, who volunteered to be the referee for today's friendly spar, jerked his right arm upward.
"Fight!"
Astonishingly, Siegfried, who usually relied on his great reflexes and masterful counters, was the one who charged first this ti, catching Shye, who was also advancing forth, off guard.
Ferociously slashing his wooden sparring katana downwards, Siegfried's weapon suddenly glowed golden purple.
"Voidcutter!"
Everything was done in one swift motion, which forced Shye to defend by raising his wooden greatsword horizontally and using its flat part to block the ferocious attack.
Luckily, since they only used wooden weapons typically used for friendly spars and training sessions, the attack had no cutting power.
However, the full force was still there, and if hit cleanly, Shye would likely be staggering backward with a moderately battered body.
'Physical barrier!'
Diminishing the force of Siegfried's attack with his lone priest skill, he was able to easily deflect the attack shortly after, allowing him to charge forward once more.
Unfortunately, his opponent was already nowhere to be found, leaving Shye confused for a mont.
'Hoh, is this your new fighting style? Nice try, but unfortunately for you, I have a skill that counters all stealth techniques! Mana Pulse!'
As an azure mana pulse visible only to Shye gathered information and returned, Shye was shocked to find that even his unique-tier skill failed to detect where Siegfried was.
To make matters worse, before he could recover from his surprise, Siegfried suddenly appeared on his left, catching him completely off guard.
'Crap!' Shye inwardly cursed as his sparring partner's wooden katana viciously headed straight for his wide-open neck.
At this point, there was only one skill he could use.
'Stoic!'
A dull thud sounded as the wooden katana made contact with Shye's neck.
However, that's it, he didn't even feel hurt.
"Hoh, so he traded a bit of power for more speed, huh?" Shye mused as he reached out and successfully grabbed Siegfried's left wrist.
He then slashed his wooden greatsword diagonally at his sparring partner's shoulders.

'Power Slash!'
Winds violently parted as Shye's wooden greatswords ferociously approached Siegfried, who was completely trapped in front of him.
He believed that the friendly duel would end there, as there should be no way for his opponent to escape.
However, just before Shye's weapon struck Siegfried's shoulders, Siegfried was suddenly pulled into what seed to be a spatial pocket, reappearing on Shye's right side and slashing at him once more.
*THUD*
Another dull thud sounded as the wooden katana landed squarely on Shye's shoulders.
This ti, though, before Shye could even move, Siegfried already retreated out of range.
"H-Hey, are my eyes deceiving ? Is Crowley actually losing?"
Hearing the crowd's hubbub, Siegfried felt rather unhappy.
He knew that Shye still wasn't treating him seriously.
"Co on, you should at least stop holding back against , no?" the young man said with a confident smile, pointing his katana at Shye.
"Hahaha, my bad, Sieg. I honestly thought that our gap would be pretty big by now so I apologize for underestimating you." Shye replied with a smile, walking towards the training weapon rack and grabbing another greatsword shortly after.
Then, feeling the familiar warm energy coursing through his body thanks to his talent, [Greatsword ister (Rare)], Shye spoke again:
"Now then, shall we continue?"
Shye honestly thought that he already left Siegfried in the dust.
Yet, sohow, despite being behind, the guy's skill levels and attributes clung to him like glue.
In other words, they were still comparable and could be ntioned in the sa breath when it ca to combat.
Shye preferred it this way, though, as it would be boring without a rival to practice with in their region.
While he could leave Valenzia to find sparring partners, that would be far too much of a hassle.
He would rather train by battling high-ranking monsters to the death.
…Seeing his rival holding two greatswords, Siegfried's relaxed expression turned into one of sternness and determination.
He wanted to win.
Unfortunately, Shye, who now wields two weapons, was a different kind of beast due to the imnse attribute boost granted by an extra greatsword.
Hence, when he bolted forward, Siegfried was caught off guard.
He failed to enter a spatial pocket on ti and was forced to block Shye's attack head-on.
As a result, he was sent flying to the other end of the training hall.
'F-F*ck…that hurt…the strength attribute gap is this wide now?' Siegfried cursed inwardly as he struggled to stand up.
'And he's still as fast if not even faster than …'
Now realizing how hard it would be for him to defeat Shye, Siegfried decided to go all out.
'Seraphim's Rage!'
A massive pair of golden wings made of light suddenly erged from Siegfried's back, and this ti, smaller pairs also appeared on his elbows, ankles, and ears, not only enhancing his appearance but also boosting his attributes and reaction ti.
Furthermore, the range of his katana increased dramatically as it beca enveloped in a golden aura. This aura not only enhanced the weapon's cutting power but also made it lighter for the wielder while feeling heavier for the opponent.
He looked like an angel warrior from the tales of old.
'Hoh, so he's already maxed out the level of his trump card, huh?' Shye mused, impressed at Siegfried's appearance.
He rembered this skill.
However, back then, it only gave Siegfried a pair of golden wings, increased his attributes, and extended the range of his weapon.
It wasn't nearly as impressive as it is now.
"Prepare yourself, Crowley!"
