"Sorry, I didn’t say it very well just now." Jasper Sinclair took the initiative to apologize.

It was rare to see him apologize, and the anger in Nora Northwood’s heart was not as intense.

Reaching out to tuck her long hair behind her ear, she handed the food she brought back to him: "I don’t know if you’ve eaten, but I brought so back for you."

It wasn’t anything expensive, just ordinary mixed rice.

If it were in the past, he definitely wouldn’t even glance at it, let alone eat it.

But today, for so reason, he instinctively scooped a spoonful into his mouth.

"This tastes terrible," he quietly comnted, yet in the next second, he scooped another spoonful and ate it.

After eating, the two sat quietly on the sofa, looking at each other without knowing what to say.

"You..."

"You..."

They both spoke at the sa ti, and Nora paused for a mont, then looked up at him: "You go first."

Holding a cushion, she curled up at the edge of the sofa, looking at Jasper Sinclair.

Her wet eyes were full of curiosity, and her hair, draped over her shoulders, was still damp, making him subconsciously swallow.

After realizing what he was doing, he coughed lightly to regain his composure.

"It’s nothing, I just wanted to ask, did sothing good happen today? How co you suddenly decided to eat out?"

At the ntion of this, Nora felt sowhat helpless.

"What’s good about it, it’s just a stomach full of anger." She said while taking a sip of water from her glass: "Went to The Sinclair Group today to deliver flowers, which should have been a good thing, but the more I think about it, the angrier I get."

Delivering flowers to The Sinclair Group? Jasper raised his eyebrows slightly, could it be that the flowers at the venue today were arranged by Nora and her team?

At the ti, he even told the person in charge to pay more, what was there to be mad about?

With his arms crossed, he leaned back on the sofa, a barely noticeable disdain appearing on his eyebrows.

To him, this was a typical case of greed, and he wanted to hear how she would justify it.

"Originally, it was agreed that after delivering the flowers and arranging them, we would be paid three thousand dollars, but in the end, when it ca ti to pay, they reneged and only gave two thousand."

"For such a big company like Sinclair Family to do sothing like this, it seems nothing is right these days."

Sighing, she drank all the water in her glass and was about to get up to refill it when Jasper Sinclair stopped her.

"You say your wages were shorted a thousand by The Sinclair Group?" He hadn’t expected this kind of thing to happen.

"Yes, you don’t believe it either, do you?" She spread her hands, saying with so helplessness.

Returning from the kitchen, seeing Jasper still in that state, she couldn’t help but find it amusing.

"Actually, if you think about it, it’s understandable." She spoke again, sitting on the single sofa beside him, her expression carrying a touch of helplessness: "There are all kinds of people in society, and they at least gave us two thousand. If they hadn’t given us even that, we would be in for it. The Sinclair Group is large and prosperous, if we caused a fuss, we wouldn’t necessarily end up well."

She continued talking to herself but didn’t hear Mr. Sinclair respond for quite so ti.

Presuming he didn’t like listening to her mumblings, she shrugged and stayed silent.

Jasper Sinclair really didn’t speak; he just couldn’t believe mbers of his company dared to cheat him like this.

Either way, Nora Northwood had beco officially linked to him, and ultimately, she was his responsibility.

Besides, even if it wasn’t Nora, an ordinary person shouldn’t face such treatnt, as he always behaves with principles.

"I’ll look into the matter for you," he said aloud.
