He was fuming inside, clearly realizing his own tone was off, yet this woman didn’t even know how to coax him a little.

Just as he was about to hang up, he heard the voices of two won speaking on the other end of the line.

"In my opinion, finding a rich guy to spend your life with isn’t too bad."

Lily sighed as Nora Northwood smiled without saying anything, and at that mont, the call ended.

Jasper Sinclair’s eyes darkened; he knew this woman was scheming!

His grandmother was really muddle-headed, picking a woman off the street to be her granddaughter-in-law without knowing her for long, wasn’t she afraid of being deceived?

With a cold sneer, he wanted to see how this gold-digging woman would keep up the act!

At the barbecue restaurant, a drunken Lily was slumped over the table mumbling.

Nora sighed; the little girl was completely passed out.

She quickly took out her phone and ssaged Aaron Lowell to co and pick her up.

Before long, Aaron hurried over, flustered.

"Sorry I’m late." He had been at a Sinclair Family banquet earlier, and upon receiving the ssage, he didn’t dare delay and rushed over imdiately.

"You’re not late, don’t worry, Uncle." She smiled, stood up, and packed Lily’s bag.

Nora initially planned to settle the bill but was told at the register that Aaron had already paid.

"How could we let you treat us to a al!" She felt a bit embarrassed, and tried to give the money back to Aaron.

Aaron smiled and stopped her: "You can treat next ti we get the chance."

No rush, it’s good to have a reason to et again.

He helped Lily into the back seat, closed the car door, and watched as Nora turned to leave, quickly stopping her.

"Let’s go together, I’ll take you ho. It’s not safe now that it’s dark."

Nora waved her hand: "No need, I’ve already called a car, and it’s here. I’m heading back first, Uncle."

She pointed to a car parked by the roadside. This ti, Aaron didn’t insist, simply nodding and asking her to let him know once she got ho.

After agreeing, she turned and left.

When she got ho, seeing Jasper Sinclair sitting on the sofa with an awful expression, she was slightly taken aback. Could it be that work didn’t go well?

"You’re back?" He glanced at her, and his tone wasn’t pleasant either.

"Yes, I ca back as soon as it was over." Nora hung up her purse: "Did Mr. Sinclair encounter trouble at work today?"

Jasper didn’t respond, rely gave a cold snort and turned his head away.

After a while, he blurted out, "Rember what I said this morning, there won’t be kids between us, and don’t think of using a child to please grandmother!"

Without knowing why he was being awkward, whatever ca out of his mouth turned into hurtful words.

Upon seeing the hurt in Nora’s eyes, his heart gave a sudden jolt.

But having spoken, there was no way to take it back.

With tightly pressed thin lips, his already irritable mood worsened a few degrees.

"Mr. Sinclair, I think we need to talk."

"I originally chose to register with you because of the 188,000 betrothal gift, but there’s an IOU between us, and I owe you nothing."

"If you’re not happy with this marriage, we can divorce. The IOU is still with , and I’ll pay it back eventually, but if you want to live well with soone, shouldn’t you stop with the harsh words?"

Nora poured out everything she wanted to say today.

She straightened her back and looked directly at Jasper Sinclair, her eyes full of defiance.

Feeling guilty under her gaze, knowing himself that what he said was unpleasant, he touched his nose without uttering any harsh words.
