Mi Jing didn’t deny it; the An Mingyuan from the past indeed deserved Ruan Pianran’s deep affection. But the past is the past, and the present is the present. Ruan Pianran, as the person involved, might not be able to distinguish this clearly, but as an observer, Mi Jing saw it very clearly.

"Ruanruan, people change, especially n. Once they turn their back, it’s like they beco a completely different person!" Mi Jing wasn’t trying to be a wet blanket; she wanted to remind Ruan Pianran and didn’t want her to get hurt.

"But Mingyuan hasn’t changed!"

Ruan Pianran instinctively defended An Mingyuan, almost like it was a reflex. But as soon as she spoke, a wave of uncertainty surged up in her heart, secretly asking herself, has he really not changed?

"Yes, he hasn’t changed. He only goes back to Cili once a year for the New Year. It’s not because he doesn’t care about you, but because he’s busy with work, very busy, extrely busy, so busy that he doesn’t have ti to co back and see you! And also, he never ntions marriage, not because he doesn’t want to marry you, but because he wants to give you a better life, a better future, a more perfect family. And he’s sharing an apartnt with a female colleague to save money, to save for your beautiful future, not because he likes soone else or doesn’t care about your feelings."

Mi Jing finished this long string of words in one breath, without a single pause, all in one go.

Seeing the despondency flash across Ruan Pianran’s face, Mi Jing was well aware that she was being a bit pushy. But when soone hasn’t recognized the reality or is deluding themselves, they need to be struck awake; otherwise, the consequences could be endless!

Ruan Pianran took in Mi Jing’s words, feeling a mix of bitterness and excitent. Bitterness, because An Mingyuan understood her even less than Mi Jing did, and excitent, because she had such an understanding and caring friend. Although Mi Jing’s words were tinged with sarcasm, she didn’t mind.

She didn’t have many friends, and soone like Mi Jing was unique, so she cherished her even more.

With a sigh, Mi Jing softened her tone, looking at the silent Ruan Pianran, "Ruanruan, you once said that the biggest promise and praise a man can give to a woman is to marry her. But what about An Mingyuan? No matter how good he once was, he didn’t give you what you wanted most. I’m not trying to persuade you to break up with An Mingyuan, but I hope you can see things more clearly. It’s not wrong to trust soone, but it shouldn’t be blind. Loving soone with all your heart doesn’t an you should forget to love yourself."

With this, Mi Jing paused and then smiled, "After saying so much, the most important thing I want to say is this—no matter what happens in the future, you still have , a friend who will never abandon you."

She wasn’t trying to preach or be overly emotional. She just didn’t want to keep everything inside. Sotis, things remain unsaid, and though the listener may understand, saying them out loud leaves a deeper impression and touches the heart more.

Good friends should be honest with each other, without the need to placate or avoid sensitive topics. Mi Jing truly cherished Ruan Pianran, understood her pain, and was acutely aware of the tragedies she had endured, which made her care for her all the more.

"Mm." Ruan Pianran smiled and nodded.

"Then co to my house. We haven’t seen each other in a while. My parents are always thinking of you. My mom even said that if you need it, she’d introduce you to soone, maybe marry soone in Jin City, and keep company." She had co here simply to help Ruan Pianran with her luggage, but now feelings had been stirred again. To lighten Ruan Pianran’s mood, Mi Jing changed the subject, "But don’t worry, I’ve already refused for you. Honestly, my mom has a lot of options, but they’re not exactly quality. Plus, my sister just got divorced, and she’s started searching for a suitable man again."

"Haha, Auntie is still so charming."

Ruan Pianran laughed out loud. Her usually cold face now brightened with a stunningly beautiful smile. The heavy atmosphere gradually dissipated, and the two of them left the apartnt, laughing and chatting, heading back ho for dinner.

The winter night always arrived early. The city was lit up with bright neon lights. The top-level club "Ink" in Jin City was as grand and magnificent as ever. However, tonight, the normally rigid doorn stood even more rigidly, their expressions subtly hinting at nervousness.

"What are the Fourth Young Master and Fifth Young Master doing here?" Doorman A exchanged glances with Doorman B.

"Waiting for soone, I guess?" Doorman B responded with an unsure glance.

"Who is so important that the Fourth and Fifth Young Masters have to act as doorn? Anyone who doesn’t know would think today is a special day, having the two of them here as a façade is really nerve-wracking!"

As the doorn were puzzling over this, a Chery drove up. The two doorn’s eyes widened; they had never seen a car worth less than a million yuan drive through here in their two or three years at "Ink’s" entrance. Who was so naive to drive a Chery here?

The two doorn were about to step forward to stop the not-so-imposing Chery, but they heard Fifth Young Master say, "Fourth Brother, don’t you think you should get Fourth Sister-in-law a better car?"

Suddenly, the doorn quickly retracted the steps they had taken, standing perfectly still, not daring to move. Although the Fifth Young Master’s tone carried so disdain, they clearly heard the words "Fourth Sister-in-law." That was Fourth Young Master’s wife’s car. Even if they were given a huge tank, they wouldn’t dare to stop it!

Whew! Fortunately, Fifth Young Master’s words reminded them!

While the doorn silently thanked Chu Chen, Shen Lingxing’s eyes darkened as he asked, "Are you planning to give her a car?"

"If Fourth Sister-in-law needs it, sure!" Chu Chen, always generous and the most straightforward of the five brothers, didn’t sense any hidden implications in Shen Lingxing’s words and responded cheerfully.

"Do you have so much money with nowhere to spend?" Shen Lingxing asked coolly. He thought, the real estate title from last ti had already made Mi Jing extrely grateful to Chu Chen. Another car...

It would be unimaginable!

"..."

I do have a lot of money! You already know that, right?

Chu Chen muttered to himself, but even he couldn’t miss the jealous tone in Shen Lingxing’s words, so he smiled and said, "Fourth Brother, don’t overthink. I would never have any improper thoughts about Fourth Sister-in-law!" Please don’t let the jealousy pour over . Buddha bless, I am innocent!

"Then are you short of money for food?" The implication was, his wife was treating friends to dinner, why was he tagging along!

"..." Chu Chen was speechless.

It was the first ti he realized that his fourth brother could be so petty! He even got jealous of him. How innocent he was, becoming such a scapegoat!
