"Stay right there!! You will fall!"
"Ayla!! Are you even listening to ? I said stay right there. Are you even going to listen to ", a voice kept following a little girl.
"No no you can never catch ", that girl smiled and started running again.
"What if I catch you?" the voice said.
"Umm then I will listen to whatever you say", she said but while following the little girl there were already at the terrace.
"Ayla, you know right mom is scared of heights?" That voice sounds sick.
That little girl stopped.
"Ayla, my little girl co back to mom please", she sounded dizzier than before while the little girl slowly ca toward the voice.
"I’m sorry mom. I know I shouldn’t have co here. I know you get scared seeing height but...
"I’m such a bad kid right?" That little girl was on the verge of tears when she got hugged by the person.
"No you can never be a bad kid", the voice replied while another voice called out.
"Ayla!! Breakfast is ready"
"Coming!!!" both said at the sa ti.
"Ha ha, we do behave the sa. That is why we are both Ayla." Ayla said while carrying little Ayla on her shoulder.
She carefully ca down while a known face was presented at the dining table.
"Woah I can’t believe you two always behave like this early morning making lose my morning sleep", it was Kylie.
"Sorry Kylie", Ayla replied.
"Sorry, Aunt Kylie. It was all little Ayla’s fault that you didn’t get to sleep well", she said with a pout while Kylie pulled her to her lap making her have breakfast with her.
"If you both behave so cute then how could I even get angry? This is so refreshing, unfair you know", Kylie pouted.
"Ok let kiss you and your anger will go away", she said and kissed her cheek while Jennifer started complaining.
"What about ? Where is my share of kisses? Or did you forget we had a deal that you will kiss every morning and night?" Jennifer said.
"Ahh Aunt Jennifer, nowadays you started keeping lots of notes related to . What if one day I will find a secret diary in which you wrote even more embarrassing things about ? What should I do? Ha Aunt Jennifer is scary", she started acting and both Jennifer and Kylie started tickling her making her laugh out loud but Ayla looked out of it.
Her expression looks formless as if she doesn’t even belong in this place.
"Ayla, you ok?" Kylie looked at her.
"Ayla, you co to play with ", Jennifer took little Ayla away while Kylie sat in front of her to see her situation.
"What is happening to you?"
"Did you again get the dream?" she asked.
Ayla nodded.
"Why don’t you take therapy? You know it has already been five years since you gave birth and still, you aren’t able to co out of your depression."
Ayla again didn’t say anything.
"Ayla, are you listening? I’m telling sothing", she asked again while Ayla only looked at her.
"Just look at yourself, what have you beco? Look I m not saying you are weak or anything as every woman goes through the depression stage after pregnancy but now it has been so freaking long so you have to co over from this and look at her beautiful face", as she said Ayla looked at the direction of little Ayla while the corner of her mouth widened giving her a little smile.
"She looks so alike to him", she said Kylie was startled.
"When did you start rembering him?" she asked.
"He was always on my mind. Like he is roaming on my mind for 24*7 as if he is resting on my head", she smiled again.
"Ayla", Kylie called out.
"Why don’t you return to him?" she asked.
Ayla started laughing.
"Return to him?"
"Yeah", Kylie replied.
"You know I still haven’t forgotten how I saw him when I went to tell him that I’m pregnant. I still didn’t forget how the shock kept on building through my spine giving chills each second my eye was stuck on him. Every second hurt till when I heard that the one he was searching for in na of mine was not but soone else."
" I couldn’t even reciprocate the feelings you know", Ayla said but she kept on looking toward her daughter who kept on smiling.
"What if it is a misunderstanding?"
"Misunderstanding? Then where was he when I waited a month at my parents’ place? Where was he? Ha I too took my ti making my decision but I couldn’t even give dad worse worry so I decided to leave. And here I m", Ayla said.
"So you are not depressed any more?"
"No, I just beca calm."
"So you’re just not talking?"
"Ha ha yeah", as she genuinely smiled Kylie wrapped her arm around her.
"Thank God you have beco normal. God just how long it has been since I’m dying to see this smile of yours. Each ti I see your daughter smile I wish for you to smile and here you did. Welco back Ayla. I missed you so freaking much", Kylie cried out loud while Jennifer noticed them and ca toward them.
"What’s going on between you two?" she asked.
"Why are you bawling your eyes out, you little shit?"
"Ayla, she isn’t troubling you right?"
Jenny kept on asking while Kylie turned to her and said, "She is back."
As she said Jenny hugged her just the way Kylie did.
"Ha, you guys forget !" another voice interrupted them.
"Who’s going to forget a little brat like you", Ayla said and pulled her closer.
"Ah mom, you are holding too tight!! Loosen up! Loosen up! You have grown so strong", she talked like an adult.
"Yeah yeah my grand mom", Ayla replied but soon her phone rang.
She got up from her seat and walked toward her phone when she found it’s her dad who was calling.
"Dad?"
"Why so early today?"
She was thinking but eventually she received the call.
"Dad?"
"Yes baby, how are you?" he asked.
"Ah I’m ok why you ask? Didn’t we just talk yesterday?" she asked.
"Yeah but I feel like talking to you so I called you", she replied while she could sense sothing was a bit off.
"Dad, are you ill?"
He stayed silent.
"Dad, are you trying to hide that you are sick?"
"It’s nothing baby, just a bit cold which will vanish soon", he started coughing.
"Dad, I’m coming now", she said.
She didn’t even wait for him to finish his sentence but hung up on him.
"What happened?" Kylie asked.
"I have to return", she said.
"Return? Where?"
"Ho", she said while little Ayla ca toward her.
"Ho? Isn’t it our ho?"
"No, there is another ho", she said and carried her.
"You won’t regret returning right? Like if you return your parents will know about Ayla’s existence then what will you say? Who is she? What’s your relationship with her? And if she is yours then who is the dad? What will you say when she looks so much like him? She even talks the way. She even whines like him." they said.
Ayla thought for a while but she eventually decided she will return.
"Good that’s the Ayla we are waiting to see", they said while Kylie started booking her ticket.
"Won’t you guys co with ?" Ayla asked.
"I can’t take leave from my job. But don’t worry I will eventually be there soon even if it will take to change my work to your place", she said while looking at her daughter.
"Yeah yeah I know it’s all for this little brat."
"Of course I have grown attached to her so much", she said while pinching her cheeks.
"Ouch Bad Aunt always pinch my cheeks!!"
"Those are mine right?"
"No they are not yours. I will give them to grand pa", she said.
"Grandpa?"
"Of course mom always talks to her dad so isn’t he my grandpa? Aren’t we going to him? So when I will go I will give him", she smiled showing her teeth.
"If she knows the aning of having dad then she sure knows she has a dad too right?" Ayla thought while her entire body started shivering.
"No no I will not let anyone even co closer to my Ayla. She is mine. She is mine to keep, she is mine to protect I will not let anyone even touch her let alone take her away", Ayla kept on mumbling but it was not audible to anyone.
"Ayla, you ok?"
"Yeah I’m all ok. I’m going to pack up my bags. You play with her ok?"
Kylie nodded while Ayla left.
"Hope, I never see him", she mumbled again.
"I will never let it happen."
