Lu Jing turned around, her face imdiately turning pale, and she clenched the little girl’s hand tighter without realizing it.

"Mommy Lu?" The little girl felt a bit of pain and couldn’t help but cry out.

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it’s Mommy Lu’s fault, I hurt Yaoyao."

Lu Jing quickly ca to her senses, apologizing to the little girl and even crouched down to blow on the sore spot a few tis.

It wasn’t really that painful; it was just an instinctive reaction:

"Mommy Lu, what’s wrong?" she asked.

Lu Jing felt anxious and shook her head:

"It’s nothing, nothing, isn’t Yaoyao hungry? Shall we order so food?"

It’s better not to say too much to children; luckily, she changed the subject.

Now they didn’t even need a paper nu; everything was ordered through WeChat by scanning the QR code on the table.

"Mommy Lu, Yaoyao wants to eat this, this, and this."

"Okay, we’ll order all of them."

...

At that mont, on the other side.

Not far, just in the opposite private room.

Gu Xiyue paused at the door for a few seconds before she managed a smile and pushed the door open:

"Aye...

Oh, where is Auntie?"

Jiang Ye was sitting in the chair, his head slightly bowed.

When he heard movent, he just slightly lifted his eyelids.

Half of his face was still hidden in shadow, but his eyes glinted sharply:

"She left," he replied coldly.

Mrs. Jiang had taken ti out of her busy schedule to visit her eldest son, but before they could even eat, she had to leave due to urgent business at the company.

However, she took another elevator down, so they hadn’t run into each other.

Gu Xiyue’s expression turned stark upon hearing Mrs. Jiang had left, and her face stiffened a bit:

"Well, let’s eat then."

There was a clear sense of trying to please and being extrely cautious.

The man tapped his knuckles lightly on the table twice and slowly said:

"Gu Xiyue, I’m staying here now, but it’s not to have dinner with you."

His handso face bore a smile, but the words he spoke were utterly devoid of compassion for Gu Xiyue.

Having won the Actress award, she managed her expressions well, aside from that mont of weakness just before.

"Aye, did you pull my endorsent?" she asked.

"Yes!"

"Why?"

Her question was sharp.

Yes, why indeed?

The man’s gaze turned icy cold, his expression chilling:

"You should ask yourself, Gu Xiyue. Think back carefully about what exactly you did to Lu Jing six years ago?"

Jiang Ye’s question struck like a bolt from the blue, freezing Gu Xiyue from head to toe, her face turning pale due to a spasm in her heart.

After a while, she managed to regain her voice:

"Aye, what are you talking about? How could I possibly have done anything to Lu Jing? I’m not even close to her!"

Jiang Ye had been watching the woman in front of him, and it was clear he noticed the changes in Gu Xiyue’s expression.

If she really hadn’t done anything, her reaction wouldn’t have been so intense.

His gaze shot towards her coldly, with a dangerous glint.

Just then, Jiang Ye’s phone on the table pinged, indicating an incoming email, followed imdiately by a WeChat ssage:

Young Master Jiang, everything you asked for is here!

Jiang Ye swiveled his chair and picked up the phone from the table.

He held it, his fingers clearly defined, but did not look at it imdiately, instead he asked with deep implication:

"Do you know what the contents of this docunt are?"
