"My dearest Lulu, have you missed ?"
Lu Jing smiled. It was the first ti she had smiled so casually since she returned to the country.
"Missed you, how could I not? How did the lawsuit go?" she asked.
"Of course I won! Otherwise, only over my dead body!" The tone was particularly through gritted teeth.
Lu Jing glanced at the ti on the bedside table. It was nearly two in the afternoon, and she didn't plan on sleeping anymore, so she got out of bed.
"Did Xiang Zheng have anything to say?"
Actually, she was quite envious of her best friend, who lived so carefree!
Want to get married, then get married; want to have a child, then have a child; now wanting a divorce, she got it just like that.
Not to ntion Lu Jing being envious, probably, most girls were extrely envious.
"Humph, he wouldn't dare!
Lulu, whose best friend are you really? Are you actually speaking up for that scumbag?"
Lu Jing laughed and shook her head:
"Alright, alright, I'm on your side. So when are you coming back? Let's celebrate!"
Over the phone, Dai Changwan sighed:
"Although I've won the lawsuit, there are just too many loose ends to tie up. Imperialism is really a pain, and it might take half a month more.
By the way, how are you?"
Lu Jing paused for a mont before responding:
"Just the sa, what else could I be?"
But Dai Changwan didn't quite believe that:
"Don't try to fool , co clean, you've seen him, haven't you?"
Lu Jing's heart skipped a beat: Six years and still not able to remain unfazed!
Although she didn't answer directly, Dai Changwan understood very well over the phone:
"What are you being stupid for? There are so many good n in the world, not like they're all extinct save for him!
Lulu, you're not still thinking about him, are you?"
Lu Jing shook her head and said with a wry smile:
"How could I? He has a fiancée, and they're very happy together."
Though she said this, only Lu Jing herself knew what her true feelings were when she ntioned 'fiancée'.
At this mont, there was an obvious sound of teeth grinding on the phone:
"That would be Gu Daping, right? Lulu, tell , if her fans knew what she was really like back then, would they still support her like this?"
Lu Jing clearly understood the implication in her best friend's words:
"Awan, there really is no need for that. Gu Xiyue was not the main issue back then; it was the problems between him and !" Her eyes dimd as she said the last part.
"You're just soft, if it wasn't her problem, whose was it? Wasn't she the catalyst?"
Indeed, if it weren't for Gu Xiyue's appearance, Lu Jing might not have made the decision back then, and the outco might not be what it was now.
But, the reality was: There are no ifs!
What's done is done, with no chance of regret!
"Forget it, forget it, let's not talk about such nauseating people. There are so many excellent young talents out there, I'll introduce you to so when I'm back, and you can pick whoever you want!"
Pfft~
Lu Jing almost choked: "You act as if you're picking radishes or greens at the market!"
"Well, that's the idea!"
Sweat...
Afterward, the two friends chatted for a while before ending the call.
However, after hanging up the phone, Lu Jing just stood there, her expression frozen with deep lancholy. It felt as if sothing had trickled to the corner of her mouth and into her mouth, tasting salty...
She didn't know how long she had been standing before she ca to her senses and went to the kitchen to cook herself a bowl of noodles.
...
In the orthopedic ward, there was a suspicion that the central air conditioning had broken down. From the afternoon, one could feel gusts of cold pressure in the corridor.
By the evening, it was even worse, feeling like you were in a giant ice cellar.
