"Alright, honey, I’ll listen to you. Don’t get angry over people like them, it’s bad for your health and could affect the baby. People as lowly as them can’t afford the consequences."
The man was trying to appease Sue.
Sue ca from a good family; her father was a departnt manager at a publicly listed company. The man had put a lot of effort into winning Sue over, and Sue had a bit of a spoiled personality, so he usually put up with it. Now that Sue was pregnant, he served her like a lapdog.
Despite this, his father-in-law disliked him for not being very capable, not even able to secure a private ward. If his father-in-law found out Sue was being wronged here, he would likely scold him again.
So the man had to take Sue’s side, stabilizing her mood. As for Ivana Monroe and the other pregnant woman, the man disregarded them. All the families here were from the lower tiers of Ravenswood, and Sue’s family background could beat them both, with nothing to fear.
"Does having money make you special? Does it an you can just hit people?" The woman on the right was livid, disgusted at the man for insulting them as lowly people to please his wife: "You’re lowly yourself, how dare you call others lowly? The days you spend at your wife’s house can’t be good either!"
"Who did you say isn’t having a good ti?" The woman’s words clearly struck a nerve with the man, and he grabbed a glass, hurling it at the pregnant woman on the right.
"Ah~"
The pregnant woman on the right didn’t expect such a violent reaction from the man, and she huddled, scared, as the glass zipped over her head and smashed onto the ground. Her face turned pale with fright, and she trembled all over.
"Serves you right."
Sue didn’t stop the man and gloated at the trembling pregnant woman.
"Tell clearly, who’s not having a good ti?"
The man shouted again at the pregnant woman, Sue’s "serves you right" sounding like encouragent. He had been feeling wronged at Sue’s house and couldn’t vent on Sue. Now, with the pregnant woman on the right cowed, it seed he had found an outlet.
The pregnant woman on the right didn’t dare speak anymore; she was genuinely scared. The man was a madman.
"Ding~"
Ivana Monroe pressed the button by the bed to call for a nurse.
"What are you doing?"
The man suddenly grabbed Ivana’s wrist, nacingly glaring at her, as if waiting for Ivana to show frightened submission.
"Can’t you see? I’m calling for a nurse. You’d better let go of now, or bear the consequences yourself."
Facing the man’s vicious gaze, Ivana’s calm expression surprised him a bit.
The man was a bit flustered, thinking about the nurse arriving soon. He was confused, fundantally soone who bullies the weak but fears the strong. If the nurse ca and saw how he was treating the other two pregnant won, what if they called the security?
"What consequences? Honey, don’t be afraid of her; she’s just bluffing you. Give her a couple of slaps. We’ll pay for hitting people; my family has plenty of money. If she calls the police, we’ll just treat it as paying for her dication!"
Sue backed the man from behind.
The man felt like he had taken a calming pill: "Honey, you’re absolutely right."
The man raised his hand to Ivana Monroe, unceremoniously saying, "Woman, you brought this on yourself."
After speaking, he swung his hand intending to slap Ivana’s face.
The ward door suddenly flew open, and the man’s hand froze mid-air. He turned to see who had arrived, and suddenly, a handso stranger caught his wrist.
"Ah~ it hurts~" The man cried out in pain, feeling as if his wrist bones were about to be crushed: "Sir, I haven’t offended you, have I? Please let go of , or I’ll call the police. My wife’s family is very wealthy..."
The man releases Ivana, grimacing from the pain.
Crack!
The man’s wrist was crushed.
Leon Keane’s handso face was grim. Not letting the man off, he punched him, knocking him to the ground, causing him to gush nosebleed.
"Honey~"
Sue was scared out of her wits, wanting to lift the blankets to help the man but seeing Leon exuding coldness, she retreated, crying, "Hitting people is against the law; don’t hit my husband anymore."
Leon stepped on the man’s face, turning to Sue and saying, "Hit soone, pay up. I’ll compensate for your dical expenses to buy dication."
Sue was astonished, staring at Leon’s exceptionally handso face. The words that ca out of his mouth filled her with dread.
What does he an? Why not say compensate her husband’s dical expenses? But "yours"?
Others arrived.
It was a nurse responding to the call and Fawn Rhodes returning from shopping.
The nurse didn’t notice the man being stepped on but saw Leon’s handso face and an intimidatingly cold expression: "What...what’s happening?"
"Get out."
Leon shouted at the nurse.
The scared nurse hurriedly left.
Fawn’s heart jumped, but she didn’t leave because she understood that Leon’s expression likely ant the woman on the left bullied Ivana.
"Ivana, what happened? Did she bully you?"
Fawn asked Ivana.
Before Ivana could speak.
Leon said: "
She instructed her husband to slap Ivana."
Fawn dropped everything in her hands: "What?"
Fawn was trembling with rage; this pregnant woman was way too over the line.
Leon added: "Now you have a chance to get revenge for Ivana."
Fawn understood; she was keen on doing just that.
"You can’t hit . Do you know who I am? My dad is a manager at Eternity Group and knows plenty of bosses in Ravenswood. If you touch a hair on , my dad won’t let you off."
Fawn chuckled in anger, realizing she was extrely arrogant outside because of her father’s status?
"What’s your dad’s na?"
Fawn didn’t rush to hit her.
"My dad’s na is Leonard Levine."
"Leonard Levine, you say? Leon, did you hear that?"
"Yes."
"Le...Leon Keane...can’t be the one at the pinnacle of Ravenswood’s hierarchy...how could that be..."
Sue was stunned by Leon’s na.
"Yes, your guess is correct, it’s him; you’ve offended Young Madam Kane."
Slap~ slap~
Two loud slaps landed on Sue’s face, instantly reddening and swelling her cheeks.
"Wow~"
Sue sobbed, not knowing whether from pain or fright?
The nurse summoned a doctor.
This ti, not only a doctor but also the director ca over. He was from the ward of the grand matron. Hearing that the dical staff found Ivana staying in a common ward, his face turned white, almost firing the person then and there.
Young Madam Kane, how could she be in a common ward?
Seeing a woman bawling inside the ward, the director was a bit baffled.
"Remove this woman for ."
Leon coldly instructed the director.
"Yes, President Kane, clearing right away."
The director led the doctors and nurses to swiftly wheel Sue’s bed out.
Leon lifted his foot off the man’s face, leaving a shoe print on it, chin dripping with nosebleed, not daring to make a sound as he scurried away after rising from the floor.
