Ever since she learned she needed Rejuvenation Pills to recover from her injuries, Gold Coins had been tight. So, Mirror Mirror had eagerly started finding all kinds of random little quests for her.

The Beastn all looked very surprised.

So, An Jin had Xi and the other Beastn bring out half a bag of grain from the storeroom. Using the sa thod as before, she made a big batch of popcorn for the little cubs.
Many Eagle Beasts were perched on the nearby branches. They would occasionally tilt their heads and preen the feathers under their wings with their beaks, but their eyes never blinked. They remained on high alert, scanning the surroundings for any sign of movent.
CHIRP~ ’What just hit in the face?’
The Black Eagle blinked, utterly confused, but it remained as still as a statue, its posture as unyielding as a soldier’s.
A few pieces of popcorn had landed on the ground below it.

The eagle next to him got hit too.
’But the Chief taught us we have to be completely focused on patrol! We can’t be distracted by anything, or we’ll be punished!’
So, even though the aroma wafting up from below was so tempting it made them gulp, they simply stared straight ahead, remaining perfectly still.
But when a fourth piece of popcorn bounced off its head, the Black Eagle let out two aggrieved coos. It finally couldn’t take it anymore, shifting its talons on the branch and peering down.
"CHIRP CHIRP! CHIRP!" The cry of the Eagle Beast beside it suddenly sharpened.
You’re getting distracted on patrol! Careful the Chief doesn’t catch you! Chirp chirp—the Chief’s coming! Straighten up, now!
The two Eagle Beasts instantly froze, as motionless as bronze statues.
An elegant, graceful Golden Eagle flew in from the distance. It landed directly on the ground and transford into a tall, imposing man. A flicker of confusion appeared in his deep, jade-green eyes as he strode toward An Jin and the others.
"What are you all doing here?" ’I saw black smoke rising from this direction and thought sothing was on fire.’
Song Yi’s gaze fell on An Jin. Her face was still pale and haggard, and her usually rosy lips had lost their color, leaving them a faint pink. She exuded a sense of heartbreaking fragility.
