*~Aurora’s POV~*

The doorknob turned slowly, dramatically and a tall, mysterious figure stepped into the room.

He was very tall. Even though I was standing, I still had to crane my neck upward just to et his gaze. He was taller than the triplet brothers by far.

His dark blue eyes glimred with sothing ancient, and his skin was even paler than the other demons’. His long, silver-white hair flowed down past his waist, gleaming faintly under the dim light.

He looked... ethereal. Too mystical to be real.

Are these even normal creatures at all?

Heather was still smiling, completely unbothered, while I...paralyzed couldn’t even move. I just stood there, frozen like a statue.

The tall figure walked past with graceful, effortless strides and leaned down to lift Heather into his arms.

I snapped my neck around to watch, helplessly. Heather imdiately clung to his hair just like she used to with her mother and my heart skipped.

What was Heather doing?

She held tightly onto him, her tiny fingers buried in his silken strands, and he gave her a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Hello, you," he said, his voice smooth, quiet, and eerily calm. Then his gaze shifted to while he cradled Heather against his chest.

He had just walked in, taken her, and she... she wasn’t even crying. Not a single tear. Heather never let anyone carry her not my sister, not her grandmother. Yet here she was, smiling in his arms as though she’d known him forever.

He turned to leave, and I finally found my voice.

"Who are you and what is she to you?" I demanded.

He paused, slowly turning his head back toward . "Oh, I forgot you were here," he said lightly. "But I thought I’d already acknowledged you."

He smiled faintly, his expression unreadable. "I am George—the Demon Lord. I’m sure the others must have ntioned ."

His voice was cold, each word rolled out like ice, sending chills down my spine.

"I... uh..." I stamred. "Drop her."

He tilted his head, feigning confusion. "Who?" he asked, his tone mocking.

"That baby! Drop her, she’s just a baby!"

"Are you talking about Heather?" He looked down at her, still smiling in his arms, then back at . "I’m afraid I can’t grant that request. But if you have another one, feel free to ask."

"Let us go! Drop her and let us go!"

"I’m sorry," he said again, still in that icy calm tone, "but I can’t grant that either. You know, your request is rather hard to grant, Lady Aurora."

His words dripped with sarcasm.

"You need to drop her this instant!" I shouted. "What do you even want with a baby?"

He exhaled softly. "No, I don’t want anything from her—and it’s not what you’re thinking. You could simply say that Heather is one of us."

"One of you?" I repeated, frowning.

"Yes," he replied. "She is almost like us—considering she carries a special kind of blood within her."

"A special type of blood?" I echoed. "Are you even aware this girl has a twin brother—and parents—none of whom are anything like you?"

"Oh, yes," he said, almost amused. "Her twin brother—Christian, isn’t it? He leans more toward the strength of a werewolf. But Heather..." His eyes softened as he looked at her. "She leans toward the magic of the witch and the Crescent. That’s why she’s almost like us. You share a lot in common now."

He looked back at . "I hope I’ve answered your questions. Am I free to go now, Lady Aurora?"

"Go, my foot!" I snapped. "Drop her now, you pervert!"

He smirked, completely unfazed, and started walking toward the door.

"I’ll stop you!" I growled through clenched teeth.

He didn’t respond. Not until Heather began to cry.

Her tiny hands reached toward , stretching, trembling. She didn’t want to leave .

He hesitated at the doorway, Heather’s cries echoing through the room.

"Oh, looks like it’s not only she’s familiar with," George said, glancing at Heather, who was still reaching for . "I suppose she doesn’t want to leave you here to rot... all by yourself."

He walked past and gently set Heather back in her basket before turning toward again.

"Take care of her," he said simply.

"She was angry," I muttered under my breath.

"I can tell," he replied. "I’d better go get so milk for her. She wants her mother’s milk."

As he turned to leave, I reached out and grabbed his wrist—but my hand slipped right through his arm as if he were made of smoke.

"What the—?" I stared at him, confused.

"I’ll go get so food," he said calmly. "You just stay here with her. Don’t cause any trouble—you’ve caused enough already. I can see the damage you’ve done."

And with that, he walked off, leaving swallowing hard in the silence.

Then suddenly...a sound. A small rush of air beside Heather’s basket.

I spun around, startled—and froze.

My eyes caught a mini version of Cayden on the bed next to Heather.... Christain!

He was standing right there beside her, holding Heather hand protectively. Heather instantly stopped fussing and started laughing the mont she saw her twin brother.

My eyes darted around the room. "What, how did he?"

Did he just teleport to wherever his sister was?

No one else was there. No demons, no parents.

Then I noticed a faint silhouette by the window.

I rushed over and yanked the curtain aside—Leon.

He was clinging to the window fra, half inside, half out. I threw the window open and he climbed in with a heavy breath.

"What are you doing here?" I hissed. "How did you even find this place?"

But he do not say anything, he just rushed to and pulled into a soft embrace. My gaze buried in his chest.

His warm scent entering my nose. I wanted to push him offf but I can’t. I wanted this... I missed this scent that manage to calm down despite whatever I’m going through.

But I found the strength and pushed him off.
