Chapter 54

~Serissa’s POV~

I blinked.

"You used to be proud. Elegant. Now you sound like a desperate parasite trying to cling to whatever shadow you think you still cast."

"I..."

"Save it before I forget who you are and do sothing YOU... will regret." I blinked, my jaw falling. "And don’t ever talk about Spring like that again."

I stared at him, stunned.

"She’s got more honour in her than you’ll ever be able to fake." He stepped around , muttering, "Pathetic."

And just like that, he walked off, shoulders squared, without a backwards glance.

Heat flared behind my eyes. I clenched my fists so tight my nails pierced my palms. My breathing quickened.

Two girls and a guy walked past, whispering not-so-softly, "That’s the girl, the Princess tried to seduce Tyrion again. Hasn’t she embarrassed herself enough?"

I growled, flashing my fangs, and the trio scattered.

Let them run. Cowards.

I needed a win.

Then I saw him—Storm.

Golden-blond hair that brushed past his shoulders, eyes like frozen skies, and lips that always looked just seconds from a smirk.

Perfect.

Storm wasn’t easy, but he was powerful, respected. If I couldn’t get Tyrion back, then I could at least wrap Storm around my fingers. Play the long ga. Maybe even humiliate Spring in the process.

I strutted over to him, flipping my hair back and letting my lips curl in a sly smile. He was leaning against the railing near the stairs, looking bored.

"Finally," I purred. "The wench released her claws from you, huh? Thank goodness. I was starting to think she’d sunk them in too deep."

Storm didn’t smile.

He slowly turned his head and gave a long, blank stare. Then his lip curled.

"If you’re trying to get my attention, Serissa, congratulations. You got it." His voice dripped with disgust. "Now kindly remove yourself from my space before I throw you over the railing."

My smile dropped completely.

Storm did not waste another second in my presence as he turned away without waiting for a response while I stood there, cheeks burning and my ears ringing.

They’d regret forgetting who I am.

"Aiisshh!!"

My heels clicked against the hallway floor like gunshots, each step harder than the last as I stord back to my dorm.

I didn’t want to play any ga again. All I wanted was to vent. My hands trembled at my sides—not from fear, but fury.

Storm had looked at like I was sothing rotten.

His blue eyes, once bright with amusent whenever I spoke, had darkened with disgust the mont I opened my mouth.

"Finally, the wench removed her claws from you, huh?" I’d said to him. "Thank goodness. I was beginning to think she’d chained you up for herself."

He hadn’t even humoured .

Instead, he’d narrowed those glacier-blue eyes and said, "You’re embarrassing."

And walked away.

Embarrassing.

?

I shoved the dorm door open so hard it banged against the wall. The bitter taste of humiliation curled in my throat, burning hotter than any insult Storm had ever thrown before.

Sothing wasn’t right. Sothing deeper than rejection or envy. I could feel it crawling under my skin, wrapping around my bones like a hex I couldn’t undo.

Inside, Delilah was lounging lazily in her chair, long legs crossed as she leaned back like royalty without a crown.

Her pleated skirt hugged her thighs, partially covered by sleek black thigh-high stockings.

She wore her signature heeled boots, the kind that clicked with intimidation, and topped them with our school’s sweater over a pristine white inner shirt.

Her glossy phone sat in her manicured hand, one pink nail tapping against the screen absently.

As soon as she saw , she lifted her head, her gaze unimpressed. "Hey."

I didn’t answer. Just marched to my side of the room and threw my bag onto the bed.

At tis like this, I wanted to be on my own, but Mum claidthat if I shared a room with soone, then it would help the people see how down-to-earth their princess was.

Bullshit.

What business did a royalty have with the lower-ranking lords?

Delilah arched a brow. "Why do you look like hell ruined your day before it began?"

"That’s because it did, Lilah. It fucking did," I snapped.

Delilah blinked and slowly set her phone down. "Okay. Damn. Who pissed in your smoothie?"

I turned to face her, seething. "Everyone. Tyrion. Storm. This cursed school. Everything is upside down and sohow... sohow that witch invading werewolf, Spring Kaine, is still walking around like she owns the moon!"

Delilah didn’t flinch. "You’re loud, girl. Chill. You’re acting possessed."

"Maybe I am! Because nothing makes sense anymore! The charm I used on her was supposed to drain her aura gradually. Make her falter, lose control. And now I’m the one spiraling."

Delilah tilted her head. "You hexed her?"

"I barely even scratched the surface of her soul," I hissed. "It wasn’t ant to bounce back! What did I do wrong? Where did I go wrong, huh?"

Before she could reply, a soft knock echoed at the door.

I groaned. "What now?"

The door creaked open and a nervous junior stepped in, her petite fra almost swallowed by her oversized blazer. Her eyes imdiately dropped to the floor when she saw .

"Y-Your Highness," she stamred, bowing low.

"Speak. Don’t waste my ti," I barked.

The girl flinched under my voice.

Delilah sighed and stood. "Lani, just talk to . What’s the matter?"

Lani looked like she’d rather vanish, but she turned to Delilah quickly. "I-I was doing laundry duty for the seniors and... I found sothing strange in Her Highness Serissa’s uniform pocket."

Delilah narrowed her eyes. "Strange like... what?"

"It pricked . Just a little," the girl added quickly.

My blood froze.

"What exactly did you find in my pocket?" I demanded, walking to her and grabbing her arm before she could recoil. "Tell everything. Now."

"I—I was washing and—"

"Skip to the prickling," I snapped.

She nodded rapidly. "I saw this small object—a pin maybe—it was thin and sharp. It didn’t look like an office pin. Like... it wasn’t supposed to be there."

I felt the blood drain from my face. My heart kicked against my ribs.

"Oh shit..."
