Heaven’s POV
My thoughts drifted away from Dylan and moved to Damian and what Felix had told .
Felix had told that Damian was in a bad place. He said that the Alpha hadn’t eaten any food. He hadn’t even touched a drop of water. Felix said Damian was doing this because he felt guilty. He was punishing himself for what had happened.
I sat on the edge of my bed and stared at the wall. I couldn’t get that image out of my head. Damian, sitting alone in his study, starving himself because he felt bad for hurting .
I took a deep breath. I made a decision. I needed to go see him. Even though I wasn’t sure it was a good decision.
He had told at the garden that I shouldn’t co near him because he don’t want to hurt . I wanted to let him know that I wasn’t angry with him anymore.
Well, that wasn’t entirely true. It wasn’t that I wasn’t hurt. I was still hurt. My heart still felt a little bruised. But I also understood the situation. I knew that he was under a lot of pressure. I knew that the circumstances forced him to do things he didn’t want to do.
I wasn’t trying to make excuses for his bad behavior. I wasn’t saying that what he did was right. But I accepted it. It is just what it is. And I couldn’t stand the thought of him hurting himself by not eating.
I stood up and smoothed down my dress. I needed to be strong.
I left my room and walked down the long hallways of the Mansion. It was empty and I didn’t see a single maid in the hallway. I made my way all the way down to the kitchen to get so food for him.
When I pushed open the kitchen doors, the room went totally quiet . The kitchen was busy with maids preparing als, but as soon as I stepped in, everyone stopped what they were doing.
The maids were staring at . Their eyes followed my every move. It felt strange to be her since I hadn’t stepped my legs down here since i stopped being a servant, Now things were different. Now, I was Luna
I could feel the change in the air. They weren’t looking at with pity or anger anymore. They were looking at with respect, and maybe a little bit of fear. It was a heavy feeling to carry on my shoulders.
I looked across the large kitchen and saw Mia and Bia there too and I gave them a small smile.
They smiled back and maid began Murmuring.
They knew the situation between them and I and they were probably surprised that I would even smile at them and they would smile back.
When normally I would always keep my eyes down and Bia and Mia would give disgusted look.
They would insult infront of every maids until they laugh at while I cry.
But thing were different since they had admitted that they were wrong and asked for my forgiveness. And I was glad that thing were better now.
I ignored the whispers and focused on my mission. I walked over to the counters to prepare a tray of food for Damian.
I thought about what he would need. He hadn’t eaten in a long ti, so he needed sothing strong. I took a plate and placed so red at on it. Wolves need at to keep their strength up. I added so fresh, green vegetables on the side to make it healthy. I also grabbed a handful of nuts and placed them in a small bowl.
I poured a tall cup of cool water. I arranged everything neatly on a wooden tray. It looked good. It slled delicious. I hoped it would be enough to tempt him to eat.
I lifted the tray. It was a little heavy, but I didn’t mind. I walked out of the kitchen, leaving the whispering maids behind .
I walked up the stairs towards Damian’s study. My heart started to beat a little faster. What if he shouts at ? What if he tells to leave?
As I got closer to the big wooden doors of his study, I saw Beat Felix step out.
He looked tired. His shoulders were slumped, and he looked like he hadn’t slept much either. He saw coming and stopped in his tracks. He looked at the tray of food in my hands, and then he looked at my face.
"What are you doing here, Luna Heaven?" he whispered. He whispered like he was afraid to make too much noise.
He stepped in front of the door, blocking my path.
"Alpha Damian doesn’t want to see anyone. He is in a bad mood." He said
I didn’t react. I just lifted the tray higher so he could get a better look at it. I wanted him to see that I was just bringing him food. I just wanted to make sure he didn’t starve.
Felix looked at the food, then he looked back at . He sighed, then shook his head.
"He doesn’t want to eat," Felix said. "I tried. He refuses everything."
I tilted my head to the side and gave him a pleading look. I tried to tell him with my eyes that I needed to do this.
Felix looked at for a long mont. He must have seen the determination in my face. He must have realized that I wasn’t going to turn around and walk away.
He finally gave up.
"Okay, fine," he said, stepping aside. "But this is all on you. If he gets angry, don’t say I didn’t warn you."
"I understand," I thought to myself.
He moved out of my way and walked down the hall, leaving alone in front of the door.
I took a step toward the study, but then I stopped.
Suddenly, I started having double thoughts.
Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe Felix was right. If Damian wanted to be alone, maybe I should respect that. Maybe I should just turn back around, give the food to the guards, and go back to my room.
My heart pounded in my chest. I felt nervous. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to face him yet.
But then I looked at the food on the tray. It was getting cold. I had walked all this way. I was already here so I might as well just go in.
I took a deep breath to steady my shaking hands. I nodded to the guards standing by the door.
The guards didn’t say a word. They reached out and opened the doors for .
I walked in. The study was darker than usual. I saw Damian sited at his desk focused on what was on the table.
I stood by the corner without am saying a words. I waited for him to acknowledge .
