The Feiyue Hundred Percent Program Team was set to stay at the Zhoushan Hotel for filming. The northern expansion project was put on hold due to funding issues, so Cheng Qiaobei and his team ca to the Zhoushan Hotel to receive the program team. If this event was hosted smoothly, it would be crucial for enhancing the Jade Jiali brand.
Cheng Qiaobei arrived at the hotel. As soon as the car drove through the hotel gates, he noticed many paparazzi and entertainnt reporters gathered at the entrance. So even held phone stands broadcasting live, making the scene quite lively.
Wei Lai was waiting at the entrance in advance and signaled the doorman to park Cheng Qiaobei’s car in the exclusive spot in the backyard.
Cheng Qiaobei got out of the car, quickly walked up the steps, and Wei Lai kept pace, starting to report on the situation.
"Currently, five artists are scheduled to arrive at the hotel tomorrow. The local transfers and vehicles have been arranged. Since there are many crew mbers, I contacted a local travel agency to borrow an air-conditioned bus. The guest rooms have been properly prepared. I personally inspected them last night, and there are no issues." Recalling the crowd at the entrance, Wei Lai continued, "Considering the increasing number of visiting fans, we will increase personnel in security and strictly prohibit anyone without a badge from entering the working area."
Wei Lai managed things quite comprehensively. Cheng Qiaobei said, "Remind the security to upgrade the security levels; there are not only fans but also paparazzi and stalkers at the entrance. Rember, non-program team personnel are strictly prohibited from entering the floors where the artists stay. Also, remind the program team and artists that they must wear badges to enter the hotel, no badge, no entry."
Wei Lai replied, "Understood."
The two entered the elevator, and Wei Lai pressed the floor button for Cheng Qiaobei’s office.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Have two people stationed at the security passage and elevator entrance on the artists’ floor to ensure the privacy and safety of the artists and the program team. When will Zhang Qi’an arrive?"
Wei Lai said, "They haven’t contacted us yet."
Cheng Qiaobei nodded, "Pay attention to Xia Zhiqing. If she wants to change rooms, try to accommodate her requests, but rember, do not allow her under any pretext to go to the floor where Zhang Qi’an is staying."
Wei Lai responded, "Okay, I will keep an eye on that."
The entire afternoon, Cheng Qiaobei was incredibly busy. He first had face-to-face etings with the program team’s director and later had a video conference. Just as it approached dinner ti, he received a call from Zhang Qi’an’s assistant, informing him that his flight would arrive in Danjiang at 10:30 PM. To avoid fan congestion at the airport, his trip was kept completely confidential. Cheng Qiaobei imdiately contacted Wei Lai to arrange for a reliable driver to pick him up.
Once Zhang Qi’an was settled, Cheng Qiaobei finally ended his day of work, returned to his room, and tiredly loosened his tie, leaning against a chair by the window to rest.
He lit a cigarette, bit the filter, and pulled his phone from his pocket. The video ringtone was the only solace in the quiet night. Once Chen Ningxi accepted the request and he saw her face, Cheng Qiaobei finally had soone with whom he could casually chat.
Chen Ningxi glanced at the ti. It was already past eleven, and he was still in his professional attire. She asked, concerned, "Just finished?"
"Yeah." Cheng Qiaobei took off his suit and hung it aside, unbuttoning one button on his shirt, "Just arranged for an artist to check in, his flight arrived tonight."
Chen Ningxi said, "If you’re tired, get so rest early."
Cheng Qiaobei smoked, casting his eyes down to the person in the video, "How about I can’t sleep without you?"
He looked a bit roguish now, with a white shirt slightly open at the collar, sleeves rolled up, revealing strong forearms, and his long eyes slightly lowered, looking at her with a beast-like gaze eyeing prey.
Chen Ningxi laughed, "How about I co over?"
Cheng Qiaobei turned his head, exhaling smoke, "How about I co back?"
Chen Ningxi blinked, his expression didn’t seem to be joking, "Don’t ss around, it’s so late to be driving back. Even if you’re not tired, I’d be worried about your safety."
Cheng Qiaobei snuffed out the half-smoked cigarette. From Chen Ningxi’s angle, his head was slightly lowered, a prominent nose bridge and perfect jawline.
"Phew..." He blew away the last puff of smoke and lazily leaned back in the chair. "I asked the director this afternoon, and overall they’re expected to record for about a week here. A lot of people were gathered at the hotel entrance today."
"All for artists, I assu?" Chen Ningxi asked.
"Mm."
"They certainly get the news quickly."
"Hehe, they do catch on quickly." Cheng Qiaobei smiled aningfully.
So artists, to gain popularity, would arrange for paparazzi or hire professionals to take pictures, then release them through marketing accounts, buying trending topics and creating buzz almost instantly.
Today, he just encountered this. Xia Zhiqing said she would arrive at the hotel tomorrow, but sohow got the tip-off and took the flight right after Zhang Qi’an. She called him to send soone to the airport, and Cheng Qiaobei, knowing exactly what she was up to, deliberately arranged for another car to fetch her, despite her intentions of having her and her assistant return with Zhang Qi’an’s team in the business car.
As soon as she got in the car, she told the local guide the itinerary was confidential, but before getting off, she was fully made up and posed for several shots at the entrance before going in. He wagered that tomorrow’s trending searches would definitely include gossip about her and Zhang Qi’an.
"What’s Zhang Qi’an like?" Chen Ningxi was curious.
Cheng Qiaobei replied, "He’s quite genuine and very polite."
Chen Ningxi laughed, holding her chin, "Does he look handso in person? He seems pretty handso on TV."
Cheng Qiaobei raised an eyebrow, "What do you an by that?"
"Not , I’m asking for soone else." Chen Ningxi covered her mouth, laughing.
Cheng Qiaobei squinted, tapping her head on the screen, "Look at you, acting like a married woman. No matter how handso he is, he’s not your husband, and he doesn’t earn money for you to spend. I’ll give you another chance; ask another question."
Chen Ningxi laughed so hard she rolled on the bed, "Okay, I’ll rephrase. Is Zhang Qi’an as handso as you?"
"Tsk—" Cheng Qiaobei smirked, unbuttoned two more buttons, "Not as handso as , just not as handso. If you don’t buy it, co over and bite now, co, bite here."
Seeing his exposed collarbone, Chen Ningxi really was a little teased.
As they chatted away, a call ca in on the screen. Seeing the number, his eyebrows furrowed, "Honey, hold on, a call is coming in."
Chen Ningxi said, "Go ahead, take care of it."
Cheng Qiaobei turned off the video and answered, "Hello?"
A gentle voice ca through the receiver, "Hello, Chairman Cheng, it’s , Xia Zhiqing."
Out of courtesy and upbringing, Cheng Qiaobei maintained the deanor expected of a man and replied gently, "I recognize your voice. It’s late, is there sothing you need?"
Xia Zhiqing said, "Chairman Cheng, I brought so specialties from my hotown, hope you don’t mind, so snacks. Which room are you in? I can have my assistant deliver them to you."
"Oh, no need to bother, keep them for yourself." Cheng Qiaobei replied.
Xia Zhiqing insisted, "Chairman Cheng, I specially packed a suitcase full, there’s enough for the whole team."
Cheng Qiaobei couldn’t refuse the gesture and said, "It’s too late, no need to trouble your assistant, I’m about to patrol with Wei Lai, I’ll get them on the way."
There was a mont of silence on the other end, "...Oh, okay then."
Cheng Qiaobei breathed a sigh, buttoned up his shirt again, put on his suit, and walked towards the door, dialing Wei Lai’s phone number.
"Co to the tenth floor."
