"Huff, huff, huff."

Han Qiwu glanced over his shoulder. A large moth from the cluster of five smaller ones in the mining cave was closing in rapidly.

"Forget it, I’ll just blow them up first." Han Qiwu crafted a grape grenade through the system, ready to throw it when a familiar noise echoed from the corner.

"Snort snort snort snort."

Six green slis appeared in Han Qiwu’s field of view, moving as a group.

"Perfect timing!"

Han Qiwu’s peripheral vision caught sight of a narrow crevice nearby. He stashed the grape grenade and deliberately stepped in front of the green slis.

Seeing an enemy appear, all six green slis began charging up their attacks.

Han Qiwu targeted the direction they were charging toward, dropped the Thorny Gate on the ground, and started circling around with the flutter moths.

"Boom, boom, boom."

Once the charging finished, all six green slis obediently lay themselves onto the Thorny Gate.

Han Qiwu ran over, grabbing one green sli with one hand while pulling out the Soft Blade with the other.

Stab it!

"Diudiudiudiu."

After stabbing over twenty tis, Han Qiwu finally saw the long-awaited fireball. Taking advantage of its appearance, he promptly stuffed the fireball into the green sli.

Halting his steps, Han Qiwu huffed and puffed, staring at the large moth and five smaller ones clustered together.

"Chase ! Keep chasing ! You act like you’ve never seen a man before! Ever heard of restraint? Laying eggs everywhere, disgusting!"

Finishing his rant quickly, Han Qiwu hurled the green sli in his hand at the moths.

"BOOM!!!"

...

A string of dazzling damage numbers flashed rapidly in front of Han Qiwu. anwhile, he was busy finishing off enemies with his dagger—one stab for each flutter moth.

After clearing out the moths, Han Qiwu didn’t even have ti to catch his breath.

Why?

The remaining five green slis had already slid off the Thorny Gate and were bouncing toward him.

Five minutes later.

Han Qiwu finally found a mont to sit and rest.

"Huff, puff." Han Qiwu guzzled water, breathing heavily. Killing those flutter moths was truly exhausting.

If the rewards aren’t worth it, he might as well avoid these creatures next ti.

After a short rest, Han Qiwu went over to the slis to collect the loot.

[Sli Mud] ×4

[Moss] ×1

Another piece of moss popped out!

Just one more moss to craft the incubator for sli eggs.

Next, he searched for the flutter moths’ loot.

Han Qiwu walked to the site of the explosion, and after searching for a long ti with his torch, he finally found the moth loot.

[Mining Cave Moth at]

[Usage: Feed]

[Additional Effect: After feeding, increases large egg spawn probability by 50% for three days]

[Selling Price: 50 gold]

[Notes: Mining Cave Moths are highly skilled at laying eggs]

[Moth at (Juvenile)]

[Usage: Fishing Bait]

[Selling Price: 20 gold]

[Notes: This bait is highly favored by cave fish species]

Thanks to the mining cave moth’s relatively large size, one moth dropped three portions of regular moth at and five portions of juvenile moth at.

"Not bad," Han Qiwu nodded in satisfaction.

The additional effect of moth at was quite impressive—boosting probabilities by 50% was already a dominant feature.

Though, he couldn’t understand why the eggs from these chickens had to be classified into large and small eggs.

The production rate of juvenile moth at, useful as fishing bait, was also quite high—five portions in one go.

If it weren’t for Han Qiwu’s interference earlier, there might’ve been six or seven portions now.

"Next ti I fight moths, I won’t interfere. Let those little moths hatch fully." Han Qiwu made a ntal note. After all, even if the moth population grew, it was just a matter of one grape grenade.

Oh, wait—not a grenade, but a sli.

After gathering his loot, Han Qiwu diligently resud mining.

An hour and a half later, Han Qiwu successfully reached the thirtieth floor of the mining cave.

Mining during cooldown periods is truly comfortable!

Just dig up twenty to thirty mining nodes, and you’ll uncover the staircase to the next floor. Every layer seed to have an increasing number of copper ore nodes, too.

Onward!

As the mining layers deepened, the lighting down there grew increasingly dim.

Holding his torch, Han Qiwu searched the area thoroughly for quite so ti, finding only two dumplings and four or five cave carrots—no equipnt rewards.

Glancing at the ti, Han Qiwu decided to rally himself and venture five more floors deeper while the conditions were favorable today!

[You have reached the thirty-first floor of the mining cave]

[This floor is exceptionally dark, making traversal particularly challenging. Please proceed with caution.]

Noticing the system prompt, Han Qiwu furrowed his brows and retrieved another torch from his storage compartnt.

Disembarking from the cable car, Han Qiwu began investigating this floor with a torch in each hand.

"Sizzle, sizzle."

As Han Qiwu rotated the torches, he heard the faint sound of material burning and caught a whiff of singed protein.

"Spider web? Are there spiders on this floor?" Han Qiwu heightened his vigilance, heading towards a dense mining node area within his field of vision.

Reaching the edge of the mining cluster, Han Qiwu planted one torch in the ground and switched to his pickaxe to start extracting ore.

After a bit of mining, Han Qiwu noticed the quality of this mining node area was high—nearly all the brown shale carried a copper-colored pattern, and sotis, two chunks of copper ore could be harvested at once.

"High rewards always co with high risks. The spiders here are probably a pain to deal with." Han Qiwu muttered while mining, his head constantly swiveling around to monitor his surroundings.

A lookout would’ve been nice; Han Qiwu felt like he might sprain his neck at how much he was turning it.

Mining for about ten minutes straight, Han Qiwu hadn’t encountered a single mining cave creature.

"Strange, where are the cave creatures?" Han Qiwu kept mining happily while pondering.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss."

Suddenly, spider silk shot toward Han Qiwu from his right side. Thanks to the concealing darkness, the attack was incredibly stealthy.

Fortunately, Han Qiwu had remained on high alert, and at the sound of the attack, he perford a lazy donkey roll to dodge swiftly.

"Finally showed up!" Han Qiwu planted a torch into the ground and gripped his longsword with both hands.

"Swish, swish, swish."

The sickening sound of friction ca from the spider’s legs. Its sharp tips scraped rock, leaving deep scratches on the ground.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss."

The spider seed to have found a good firing position and launched another spray of web at Han Qiwu.

"Can’t you use another attack? Stop spitting webs at ! It’s revolting!" Han Qiwu quipped while weaving to the side.

Han Qiwu knew he couldn’t let the spider continue its onslaught uninterrupted—dragging this out would make it entirely the spider’s turf.

Eyeing his target, Han Qiwu stowed his longsword and charged at the spider with a grape grenade in hand.

"Who designs these self-destruct grenades that only detonate on the ground?!"
