Hearing Mo Hong’s family’s shaless words, Mo Yan, who rushed over in a hurry, almost laughed out of anger. She pushed through the crowd and walked in, standing in front of the mother and daughter of the Mo Wu clan.

Upon seeing Mo Yan, Mo Wu’s mother and daughter seed to have found their backbone and excitedly leaned over:

"Yan, Yan girl!"

"Yan Sister!"

Mo Yan gave them a comforting smile, then turned her gaze to the troubleso mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, seeing their complexions suddenly turn ugly, she scoffed and said, "I was wondering who was causing trouble. It turns out to be you two! So what, Mo Yongxi failed to harm and suffered retribution instead. Are you so afraid to seek revenge on that you want to destroy my little stall’s business to let off steam?"

Ever since Mo Yongxi’s attempt to harm others backfired and he was "struck by divine punishnt," the villagers grew to fear Mo Yan a bit more, daring not to make any small moves behind her back, and that included Mrs. Hong and her family. However, theirs was not reverence, but fear, convinced that Mo Yan was possessed by a demon and used "sorcery" to grievously injure Mo Yongxi.

Mrs. Hong was extrely wary of Mo Yan. Despite hating her to the extre, she no longer dared to insult her as freely as before, and had to counter based on Mo Yan’s words, retorting, "Hmph, that little stall was clearly Wu’s, how did it beco yours? Don’t think you can fool this old woman by colluding; I won’t be deceived."

Mo Yan didn’t want to waste words with her and directly took out a piece of paper from her sleeve, actually from the Space, and unfolded it in front of everyone. The bottom left corner of the paper bore a striking red seal, underneath which the na "Mo Yan" was signed.

After paying the taxes and managent fees for the stall at the Governnt Office, the official in charge issued Mo Yan a receipt. Originally, Mo Yan thought it was useless and carelessly placed it in the Space, never expecting it would co in handy today, and used it quite effectively to slap Mrs. Hong’s face.

The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were illiterate and, staring at the receipt, had no idea what it was. Yet among the onlookers were those who could read, and they read out the content written on the receipt disjointedly, causing a wave of noisy discussions to arise around them:

"The signature on the top is surnad Mo, yet this woman’s surna is Wu. It seems that she didn’t lie; she was really just helping soone."

"Mhm mhm, there’s an official seal on the receipt. You can’t fake that."

"Ah, indeed, you can’t just listen to one side of the story, we may have wronged this woman before!"

"..."

The few bystanders who had accused Wu’s mother and daughter the most viciously earlier were embarrassed. Unwilling to lose face and apologize, they slipped to the back of the crowd and stayed silent.

Other people, however, considering what Wu’s had said earlier, began to suspect the true intent behind Mrs. Hong’s mother and daughter causing such a scene. But after the previous embarrassnt, and since the matter had little to do with them, they simply stood there watching the commotion, not speaking.

Hearing the surrounding people’s discussions, Mrs. Hong and her daughter-in-law knew things were bad, but they had been observing for several days now. They knew that the stall was doing good business and could earn quite a bit of Silver Coin, and they had already been longing for it. Now they had finally put on this act, it was not in their nature to leave without gaining any advantage.

As expected, Mrs. Hong spoke up again, "Even if they were just helping, they could earn two portions of wages. But they never brought the Silver Coin back ho. How do you explain that?"

This ti, Mo Yan didn’t need to step forward to help, as Mo Wu stood up by herself, her gaze fixed on Mrs. Hong, her voice trembling slightly, "Mother, Tie Tou is already nineteen this year, and Dani is also seventeen. At such an age, they should have already married, but we are poor, with nothing but a few broken thatched cottages to our na. Our main house’s six people cram into one room, a laughing stock if spoken about. In this state, with what could Tie Tou take a wife, and what can Dani have for a dowry?"
