Ever since moving into the front yard of the Mo Family’s residence, the Wang Family had been discussing making an apology to the Mo Family, to resolve their past grudges so that they would have an easier ti asking for favors in the future.

But as the saying goes, "He who takes soone’s money becos soft-spoken." If one is truly sincere about apologizing, naturally they would bring a gift to show sincerity. The Wang Family did have so nice things, at least so chickens which they were too reluctant to consu themselves, so how could they bring themselves to give them to the Mo Family?

Just when they were about to make the visit, they saw the Niu Family bringing over Exploded Burned leaves. Sister-in-law Wang started scheming, trying to curry favor with Mo Yan by stepping on the Niu Family. Not only did she receive a slap in the face figuratively, but her plotting was exposed on the spot, which was even more embarrassing than a literal slap in the face.

Even though she was filled with resentnt for Mo Yan not giving her due respect, Sister-in-law Wang did not dare to openly tear her face with her and had to shalessly continue, "Auntie is sincerely here to give Yan girl an apology. If Yan girl feels the sincerity is insufficient, shall Auntie kowtow to you?"

Having said so, her knees weakened, and she was about to kneel down.

Lixiu was quick to react and stepped forward to pull her back up, speaking in a disapproving tone, "Sister-in-law Wang, what are you doing? You, as an elder, wanting to kneel before Yan girl, a junior, isn’t this deliberately shortening her life?"

Sister-in-law Wang looked at Mo Yan in panic, shaking her head repeatedly, "Yan girl, please don’t misunderstand. Auntie is genuinely here to apologize to you. Auntie is just foolish and doesn’t know how to speak properly; you mustn’t take offense!"

Mo Yan didn’t want to argue with her any further and dismissively waved her hand, "How could I, a junior, possibly take offense at Auntie? Auntie, please feel relieved to go back."

Upon hearing this, Sister-in-law Wang’s face lit up with joy, and she overstepped, asking, "Does this an Yan girl has forgiven Auntie and your uncle for the foolish things we did before?"

The corner of Mo Yan’s eye twitched, and she responded ambiguously, "What’s in the past is in the past. Auntie need not dwell on it."

"That’s great, that’s great! Yan girl really is a generous and good-hearted young lady," Sister-in-law Wang thought the past grievances had been glossed over, and she began to flatter Mo Yan with a beaming smile.

However, this level of flattery was quite foolish, making the listener internally uncomfortable.

Mo Yan couldn’t be bothered to haggle with her and sent her away with a few words.

"This Sister-in-law Wang is really interesting!" Lixiu said with an inscrutable tone as she watched Sister-in-law Wang’s departing back.

Mo Yan laughed it off, "It’s better not to deal with greedy and petty people like her; it saves one from unnecessary trouble."

Lixiu nodded in agreent.

As soon as she turned around, Sister-in-law Wang’s face dropped. She stord back to where she lived. Seeing Wang Dali lying in bed like a corpse, her heart beca even more blocked up. She yanked the blanket off his body and punched him hard in the back, causing Wang Dali to jump up from the bed and bellow, "What are you going mad about?"

Upon hearing him, Sister-in-law Wang beca even more infuriated, "Yes, your wife has gone mad to have gone apologizing to that damn girl!"

"You, you keep your voice down," Wang Dali quickly jumped off the bed and covered her mouth, cautiously looking out the door to see if anyone noticed, then let go and said viciously, "What’s with all that noise? Are you hoping that everyone hears you? If you piss off that girl, our whole family might as well freeze to death outside!"

Just as Sister-in-law Wang was about to explode again, she heard his latter words and fell silent. She looked resentfully at the well-sealed house, consud with envy. Why couldn’t such a nice house be hers?

Wang Dali wasn’t concerned about what she was thinking. He asked anxiously, "Didn’t you go to offer an apology? What happened in the end?"

It wasn’t until he ntioned it that Sister-in-law Wang’s anger surged up again, "What happened, you ask? You tell what could have happened? I dean myself to apologize, and I slap my own face by doing so, you tell what happened?"
