At that mont, a malicious voice cut in, "Hey, the Niu Family sure knows how to play the ga, too poor to even fill their bellies, yet they still lavish their exploded burned leaves to curry favor, we certainly can’t compare with them!"

The owner of the voice was none other than Sister-in-law Wang, who had a grudge with the Mo Family.

The young girl, already anxious because Mo Yan refused to accept the exploded burned leaves, turned beet red upon hearing these words, her hands gripping the basket suddenly tightened, and she angrily looked at Sister-in-law Wang.

"Aunt Wang, what do you an by that? My parents asked to bring the exploded burned leaves here just to thank Sister Yanyan for taking us in, what’s wrong with that?"

With a covetous gaze on the basket of exploded burned leaves, Sister-in-law Wang smacked her lips, and, upon hearing the young girl’s question, cackled like an old hen, "What could I possibly an? Isn’t it just that your parents are generous and know how to conduct themselves? What’s wrong, can’t I even speak words of praise?"

"You, you clearly didn’t an it that way," the young girl was incensed beyond asure, fully aware that this woman’s words were not kind, yet she didn’t know how to retort.

"What now, you want to nitpick?" Sister-in-law Wang looked at her with disdain, pointing at the exploded burned leaves in the basket, "The Yan girl has tasted all sorts of delicacies, you think she’d fancy your worthless trinket? Better take it back and eat it yourself, save yourself the embarrassnt!"

Following that, she smiled obsequiously at Mo Yan, "Yan girl, you agree, don’t you?"

With red eyes, the young girl stared at Sister-in-law Wang, feeling both angry and ashad. She wondered if Sister Yanyan really didn’t want the leaves because she looked down on them. Yet they were the best her family could offer. Her mother had her deliver them as soon as they were prepared, not even sparing a piece for themselves to eat.

Mo Yan looked at Sister-in-law Wang expressionlessly, making her blush and lower her head in embarrassnt, then smilingly said to the young girl, who was on the verge of tears, "Exploded burned leaves are quite a delightful treat, I’m very fond of them, go back and thank your mother for ."

With that, she reached out to take the basket and picked out a leaf, nibbled it gently and couldn’t help but praise, "Your mother’s cooking skills are excellent, mine are not nearly as tasty."

"Sister, Sister Yanyan..." The young girl seed moved, her mouth agape, not knowing what to say. Seeing Mo Yan inviting others to taste as well, a warm surge filled her heart.

The others were considerate as well, coming forward to try the exploded burned leaves, and after tasting them, they all said they were delicious, lavishly praising the young girl’s mother’s cooking skills.

Whether out of overwhelming emotion or so other reason, the young girl suddenly turned and ran off, even forgetting to take the basket back with her.

Sister-in-law Wang, whose face had been slapped figuratively by the situation, alternated between green and red in embarrassnt, standing there rubbing her hands back and forth as if to soothe the discomfort of her public humiliation.

Mo Yan ate several leaves in a row, stopping only when she felt a touch of satiety. Noticing Sister-in-law Wang still standing there, she asked with so puzzlent, "Does Aunt Wang have so business here?"

"Ah?" Sister-in-law Wang, still dazed from the figurative slap, stared blankly for a mont before snapping back to reality and quickly said with an embarrassed smile, "I ca here to apologize! Earlier, because of a minor issue, there was so dispute between our two families. It was the magnanimity of the Yan girl that prevented her from holding a grudge against this uncultured person like , and you even allowed our family to move in, I really thank you for that!"

"Apologize, huh—" Mo Yan looked at her amused, dragging out the ’huh’ for an unusually long ti before taking a bite of an exploded burned leaf, crunching loudly, and made a comnt seemingly unrelated to their conversation, "While these exploded burned leaves are not so exquisite delicacy, their value lies in the sentint, and they are comforting to eat!"

At first, Sister-in-law Wang was stunned, sowhat confused, but after carefully considering the comnt, her face turned beet red, flustered with embarrassnt, yet inside she seethed with rage!
