Chapter 52: The winner
After recovering so of his KI, Ed made his way to the flag. Along the way, he t up with Ellie who looked a bit injured albeit nothing too serious.
"It looks like you won your fight as well" Ellie didn't look surprised at all. It seems like she could guess how strong Ed really is after his fight with Norris.
"It looks like it was the sa for you. I guess it was an easy fight" Ed wanted to humor Ellie a little and praised her.
"Of course it was!" Ed couldn't help but smile at her response. The both of them continued their way to reach the flag. A little while later they spotted it with a man standing next to it.
"There might be soone else standing watch near the flag so one of us should attack while the other waits. In case no one appears we can both advance" Ed laid out another plan that seed logical.
Although Emilia not being here could an she was fighting soone, Ed didn't dismiss the fact that she just couldn't find the flag. Another theory was that no one made their way to their flag.
"I'll be going first and you could follow afterward" Ed decided that he would move first since he was not injured at all and could use so ranged attacks.
"Alright, but I'll be going for the flag even if you were losing" Ellie accepted while smashing her fists together indicating her fighting spirit.
Ed moved first and rushed at his opponent from his blind spot. He wasn't increasing his speed by his movent skill but only using the stealth effect. However before he could reach the flag, his opponent reacted and drew his sword while turning towards Ed. The two of them engaged in a close ranged battle since the man seed to lose the advantage he had after being ambushed
On Ed's team' side, Hayato was now engaged in a ranged fight with a girl from C class. It was the last missing person from their team. Although Hayato was injured, he had Stephanie's support which acted as his shield and thanks to his overall abilities, he was more than enough to stall the opponent. However, that was all he could do, stall. If this was to continue for a while he would definitely lose.
His fight lasted for a while before he started losing his QI and breath. Stephanie was about to eat through her QI reserve after using magic for so long.
"It seems it's ti to end this" The girl seed to sense them weakening and decided move closer and finish them off. Hayato saw this and braced himself; he would protect the flag at all costs. He believed Ed would win in case he reached the flag so he would buy as much ti as possible.
However before the girl could get to them, soone rushed in from the forest and attacked her. It was Emilia who was missing up till now.
"It seems like it was the right decision to get back!" Emilia brought out a rapier and started fighting the girl. The latter also used her sword and the two of them started fighting. Emilia seed highly skilled in swordsmanship as her thrusts were sharp and fast. The girl used her all in order to follow the attack patterns.
After fighting for a while, Emilia started using magic as well and burned the right hand of her opponent. This caused her to lose her grip on the sword and eventually give up. At first, she wanted to engage in a ranged magic fight, but she had used a lot of magic while fighting Hayato and Stephanie while her opponent seed unhard. This ant that Emilia did not fight at all and was in top shape.
"You okay Hayato? Stephanie?" Emilia turned back to check up on her teammates.
"I'm good"
"I'm alright thanks!" Hayato replied naturally while Stephanie seed as nervous as always.
Back at Ed's place, he was now overwhelming his opponent with his sword skills alone. His opponent could use earth as well as wind magic but that ant nothing for Ed. He was now proficient enough to dodge and slash with no ti in between. His eyesight had also improved enough to have an overview of the battlefield. The reason Ed didn't finish his opponent off was to draw out his enemy in case one was hiding.
However, after not appearing for so long, Ed simply decided to end the fight now. "Ellie!" He called out to his teammate while using fire magic to surround his enemy. There was no reason to finish him off since getting the flag ans the ga's end.
"You don't have to tell twice!" Ellie rushed out and grabbed the flag in less than 2 seconds after Ed's shout. As soon as they got the flag a siren sounded off to mark the end of the mack-battle.
Ed stopped his magic and his opponent got out with a wry smile on his face. "If you're this strong why bother hide your strength and go to E class" He couldn't help but ask Ed this question.
"It's simply more fun this way, don't you think?" Ed only told him this before making his way back to the rest of his team. Along the way, he t up with Leon and gave him so of the pills he had concocted. He didn't give him the potions but this was still enough to heal most of his minor injuries. They also t up with the girl that fought Ellie and Leon put her on his back. Soon enough they were at Ed's team's area and Leon took back his two teammates while heading off back to C class.
"Are you okay Hayato?" Ed noticed that Hayato had been injured while Emilia and Stephanie looked fine.
"I'm alright. I just let my guard down. Good job making us win." Hayato was scratching his face while smiling.
"It was a team effort! Take these" Ed also gave Hayato so pills which were a bit stronger than the ones he gave Leon. Hayato instantly felt better and thanked Ed.
The team returned back to the monitor room and the rest of the class was overjoyed.
"Great job out there!" "Good job winning" "Not everyone from our class lost!" Most of the class was glad that Ed's team won. However, so proud nobles didn't admit that Ed's team was better than them.
"Yes yes, good job. Now let us talk about your rewards" Harry intervened in ti to stop the class's noise and started talking about the rewards he had ntioned before.
