This aura was entirely unfamiliar to Rhett.
Not only did it carry an overwhelming surge of dark elental energy, but there was also a hint of an unknown force, as if from another world, exuding a strange and eerie sensation that he had never experienced before!
Suddenly, the world darkened, the space tore apart, and a towering silver-white skeleton erged as if it had crossed over from another realm.
This mighty figure stood proudly on the ground, and with just one hand, it grabbed Goldsand's whip!
"Damn it, an undead spell that only a dark grand magic master can cast!"
Why is it here? Rhett's pupils contracted sharply, and he couldn’t help but curse internally.
He then glanced at 'Leon'—without a doubt, this skeletal king was his doing!
Although there was no direct evidence, Rhett's inner suspicion was evidence enough.
Rhett had so basic knowledge of dark magic. Upon reaching the grand magic master level, a mage could use their powerful ntal strength to communicate with the underworld, signing contracts to summon formidable undead creatures!
The skeletal king was the weakest of these beings, but "weak" was only in comparison to a grand magic master. In reality, it had reached a sixth-level strength!
From the mont the space tore open to when the silver-white skeleton appeared, it was all over in an instant. The skeletal king gripped Goldsand's whip and pulled her toward it with great force, while its other sharp claw reached directly for her chest!
"Ah!" Goldsand gasped in shock, her eyes wide with disbelief, clearly caught off guard by the sudden attack.
Her body was involuntarily dragged toward the skeletal king, its chilling claws gleaming.
Seeing this, Rhett's mind raced. Engaging the sixth-level skeletal king head-on was unrealistic; he needed a diversion.
Thus, he swiftly drew his wand, concentrated his ntal energy, and after a violent surge of earth elental power, a ground spike shot directly toward 'Leon's' heart!
The spike, glowing with a yellowish-brown light, pierced the air. A flash of surprise crossed 'Leon's' face. Though his physical body couldn't avoid the strike, his spirit was far more powerful than before. He could see Rhett's casting process clearly.
The silver-white skeleton remained expressionless, abruptly abandoning its attack on Goldsand. It moved with incredible speed toward Leon, like a silver arc of lightning, and with a powerful kick, it shattered the spike just as it erged.
At that mont, Blackstar, who was using his Shadow Cloak to hide nearby, prepared to cast a Death Ripple spell!
But 'Leon' didn’t even turn his head. A cold smile played on his lips.
The skeletal king, still expressionless, turned and charged toward a seemingly empty spot—where Blackstar was hidden.
With a single punch, it shattered Blackstar's skull mid-cast. There was no ti for Blackstar to feel fear as his body crumpled, a dark mist of blood exploding in the night.
"Blackstar!" Goldsand scread, her body springing into the air as she dove toward where Blackstar's body lay.
The skeletal king's soul fire flickered in its eyes, and with a sudden leap, it aid to finish off Goldsand.
But a sharp spike ca whistling through the air, aiming directly for the soul fire within the skeleton's skull—its vital weak point!
"Hmph!"
'Leon' snorted coldly, and the skeletal king imdiately changed direction, now attacking Rhett. He had realized that Rhett was the strongest among the three and far more challenging to deal with.
Under the moonlight, the silver-white skeleton looked down upon the earth with cold indifference.
Under 'Leon's' control, its hand sliced through the air like a blade, slashing directly toward Rhett.
The silver-white bones glead ominously in the moonlight, an icy aura spreading as the strike descended with a howling wind, like a demon's roar.
Rock Shield!
Rock Armor!
Rhett was on high alert, not daring to let his guard down for even a second!
Although the skeleton was the weakest of the dark undead creatures, it still had the strength of a sixth-level earth knight.
Rhett couldn't fathom how this 'second-level knight' was wielding such advanced dark magic, but he knew that only by defeating him could he find answers. ŕ𝓪ŊŎBƐ𝙨
Otherwise, the only outco would be total annihilation, wasting a valuable simulation opportunity!
Rhett's face was cold and serious as his body beca encased in a layer of rock armor, as solid as iron. But that wasn't all—a protective rock barrier enveloped him, pushing his defense to its limits.
Yet even with these defenses, when the skeletal king struck, the overwhelming force pressed down on him!
First, the rock shield shattered into fragnts.
Then, the rock armor cracked with countless fissures.
Under the imnse pressure, blood trickled from the corner of Rhett's mouth. He t 'Leon's' cold, indifferent gaze and heard him say:
"Give up your resistance, and I’ll spare your life."
"Hmph, dream on!"
Rhett responded with a cruel smile. He could no longer hold back; he had to use his trump card!
His ntal energy began depleting rapidly, and the earth elents in the air started swirling in a complex, dynamic pattern.
The next mont, the sky blazed with a dazzling yellow light!
"Spike Rain?" 'Leon' was shocked. "Impossible! How did you master an eighth-level spell?"
Rhett's expression remained unchanged. His cold gaze locked onto 'Leon' as he thodically completed the spell.
The light in the sky grew brighter as a terrifying aura spread. Earth elents condensed into solid form, and countless spikes hovered in the air, ready to rain down!
Swish, swish, swish, swish!
Spikes descended like a torrential downpour, seemingly gentle yet brimming with lethal intent!
Clink, clink, clink, clink!
The silver-white skeleton's defense was formidable. The spikes struck its body with the sound of tal clashing.
"Tch, why should you be the only one allowed to cast advanced spells?" Rhett sneered, though he remained vigilant.
He had carefully avoided targeting Goldsand with the Spike Rain spell. Sensing sothing amiss, she had quickly moved aside, even taking the severely injured mbers of the evil alchemist group with her as hostages.
Despite her sorrow over Blackstar's death, the radiant rain of light in the sky captivated her, leaving her in awe.
anwhile, 'Leon' summoned the skeletal king to shield him from the falling spikes.
But a skeleton, after all, was still a skeleton. With its many gaps, it couldn't protect him as thoroughly as a shield.
Rhett controlled the spikes to strike through the gaps, still managing to wound Leon.
Thud, thud, thud!
Two spikes penetrated through the skeleton's gaps, pinning 'Leon's' feet to the ground, immobilizing him.
Another spike pierced through his chest, stopping just short of his heart—a deliberate choice by Rhett to keep him alive.
Blood gushed from the three wounds, like a fountain staining the ground red.
Yet, the most surprising sight was 'Leon.' Despite his horrific injuries, his expression remained unchanged, as if he had lost the ability to feel pain.
But when he looked at Rhett, the cold indifference in his eyes was replaced by surprise and curiosity.
"Spike Rain—have you taken a Saint-level bloodline potion?" 'Leon' quickly deduced. He had considered many possibilities, but only a bloodline potion could explain Rhett's power. No one else could achieve such feats!
"Yes." Rhett admitted without hesitation, glancing briefly at Goldsand before refocusing on 'Leon.' He asked, "The advanced dark magic you used earlier—how did you do it?"
Taking advantage of the simulation, Rhett intended to extract as much information as possible. Everything else was secondary.
Blood still flowed from 'Leon's' wounds, but he seed oblivious, replying calmly:
"Swear loyalty to , and I’ll share more secrets with you. Otherwise, you’ll et the sa fate as your companions."
Swear loyalty? And beco a monster? Rhett had no interest. After a mont's thought, he reached into his pocket, smirking as he pulled out an object:
"Tch, isn’t it related to this?"
He held a crimson orb between his fingers. Though it differed in hue from the purple-red bead from earlier, the connection between the two was unmistakable!
"How—how do you have a Blood Source Pearl?" The fourth-level mage trembled in fear, unable to suppress a gasp of shock!
His gaze toward Rhett was filled with dread. He had thought Rhett was just an ordinary fifth-level magic master, but who knew he was such a formidable opponent, capable of casting eighth-level magic!
If Rhett hadn't shown rcy earlier, even the cult leader’s possession would have been crushed.
It was terrifying!
Noticing the fourth-level mage's reaction, 'Leon's' expression shifted slightly. His brow furrowed—clearly, this Blood Source Pearl hadn’t co from them.
"Have you destroyed one of our other branches?" 'Leon' asked coldly.
"Of course not. I’m not that powerful.
In fact, I got this bead from one of your traitors. Speaking of which… you should be thanking ."
"Thanking you? Very well," 'Leon' replied with a slight smile, his tone softening. "Join my organization, and I’ll cultivate your talents. Soone who has taken a Saint-level bloodline potion is a rare find, even among my ranks."
Not common? That ans there are others. They can’t be underestimated, but even so, I would never join your wretched organization. Who knows when I might end up losing my mind... Rhett stroked his chin, thinking that through, but considering this was a simulation, he could afford to play along.
After a mont of contemplation, he said:
"Joining you... isn’t impossible, but you have to lay out all the secrets of your organization. You must also explain everything about the Blood Source Pearl.
For example... how you cast advanced magic and how you managed to possess this body.
After all, I don’t want to beco so mindless monster without even knowing how it happened."
Upon hearing this, 'Leon’s' expression turned cold. "In that case, I might as well kill you."
He saw potential in Rhett, but that didn’t make Rhett irreplaceable.
Ultimately, everything was for profit. Cultivating soone like Rhett was only useful for future tasks, but excessive curiosity could cause more trouble than it was worth—more harm than good.
Sensing the change in 'Leon’s' deanor, Rhett calmly and confidently said:
"If you kill , you might regret it..."
'Leon' sneered, "Wishful thinking. Do you think you’re soone special? Just a small—"
Before he could finish, 'Leon’s' eyes suddenly widened, and his voice stopped abruptly. His gaze fixed straight ahead.
A faint yellow silhouette slowly erged from Rhett’s body, surrounded by swirling sand, its form simple yet exuding an impressive aura.
It was the Sand Spirit!
"This... could it be... a Sand Spirit?" 'Leon’s' breathing grew heavier. He had seen much in his life and made an educated guess, murmuring softly.
"That’s right!" Rhett’s lips curled into a confident smile. With the simulation backing him, he could freely test his plan. He continued, "If you’re willing to reveal those secrets, you know exactly what it ans for to join your organization while controlling a Sand Spirit, don’t you?"
"Sand Spirit?!" Goldsand gasped, covering her mouth, her eyes filled with shock as she looked at Rhett.
Even 'Leon' froze, a rare flicker of excitent in his gaze. He licked his lips and said, "Very impressive! But what are its abilities?"
Rhett didn’t answer imdiately. Instead, he countered with a question:
"One question each. You answer first—do you control a Blood Elf?"
'Leon' chuckled lightly. "Yes, not only do I control a Blood Elf, but I can also tell you that I managed to possess this body using the Blood Elf’s power."
He was willing to share this secret, having genuinely developed an interest in recruiting Rhett. As a fellow spirit wielder, he knew all too well the potential spirits held. He wasn’t afraid that Rhett would refuse; even if he did, Leon would track him down and drag him back, bound and shackled!
Possession through the Blood Elf? Rhett found it hard to believe, exhaling slowly. The Blood Elf’s abilities were indeed extraordinary...
He looked at 'Leon,' shrugged, and said, "Alright, my Sand Spirit’s abilities pale in comparison to yours. It can only accelerate the growth of magical plants and beasts and improve soil quality."
"Inferior?" 'Leon' shook his head with a smile.
Seeing this, Rhett’s curiosity was piqued, and he asked, "Is there more to it?"
"I can tell you’re only in your forties, and you’ve probably only had the Sand Spirit for about ten or twenty years?" 'Leon' said casually.
Ten or twenty years? More like a fraction of that... But Rhett kept his face calm and said, "Yes."
'Leon' looked satisfied, saying confidently:
"Let share a secret with you today. The power of a spirit grows stronger with ti.
The Blood Elf has been with for over a thousand years. Its abilities have undergone trendous changes!"
Over a thousand years? This guy must be a Saint-level powerhouse! Goldsand’s eyes filled with fear as she looked at 'Leon.'
In this world, extraordinary individuals generally lived longer than ordinary people, which was considered normal.
Low-level extraordinaries had lifespans only slightly longer than average people, typically living between 100 and 200 years, depending on specific circumstances.
Mid-level extraordinaries could live between 200 and 400 years.
High-level extraordinaries usually had lifespans ranging from 400 to 800 years.
Factors like strength, individual constitution, chronic conditions, and injuries all influenced lifespan, so it wasn’t an absolute figure locked into precise numbers.
Only Saint-level powerhouses experienced a qualitative leap in their life force, with lifespans reaching beyond 3,000 years.
