"I feel like a fish."

Edwin looked up from his plate, his brow furrowing slightly as he nodded in agreent. "The fish here is indeed good," he said thoughtfully, his hand gesturing toward the nu. "What kind of fish do you want? Take a look; they have a great variety."

Serena’s lips twitched with amusent, and she let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. "No, Edwin," she replied, her tone laced with humor. "I don’t an I feel like eating a fish." She leaned back in her chair, her gaze steady on him as she clarified, "I ant that I feel like a fish, with the way you keep staring at like I’m in so kind of glass tank."

Edwin blinked, clearly caught off guard by her explanation. He opened his mouth to respond but then closed it, his expression embarrassed. "I am just trying to make sure that you’re eating well. You seem to be losing weight."

Serena sighed," I don’t know what you an by eating well, but I assure you I am not starving myself. As for losing weight, I think it might have sothing to do with all the cocktail of dicines I have to take."

Edwin nodded and looked down at his plate again after sending hers a cursory glance. She was barely eating and didn’t even seem to realise it. The truth of the matter was that she was not eating well. the suspicions were getting thicker. What was going on? Were the reports he received false that she could almost be considered a glutton?

A hearty appetite, they had said. A woman who enjoyed her als. Yet here she was, nibbling at her food as if it were a chore.

Edwin sighed. He’d thought that she didn’t like the als that his chef was making. But she didn’t much at the hotel or even at this michelin starred place. He sighed and looked at her again. He really didn’t know what to say to her. At this mont, he truly thought of himself as foolish for not having spent ti with her before leaving.

Just then, a tall, handso man erged from the kitchen, carrying a small, intricately plated dish.

With a warm smile, he went to stand in front of Serena and placed the dish in front of her with a flourish. She looked up into the grinning face as the man began, "Serena, right?" he said,"I’m Luca, the head chef here—and an old friend of Edwin’s. He told he is bringing his little sister for dining here tonight, so I couldn’t resist whipping up sothing special for you."

Serena looked at the man and then at the dish he had placed in front of her. It seed Edwin had brought her here fully prepared to make her eat like a pig.

Serena offered a polite smile, ready to decline, but the fragrance from the dish hit her before she could utter a word. The aroma of lted cheese and fresh herbs wafted up, and her stomach betrayed her with a soft grumble which had the chef laugh in amusent.

"Ah, I think that’s a sign you should try it," he said, gesturing to the dish. "I promise it’s worth it. It’s one of my own dishes—a ricotta and herb souffle with just a touch of magic. Only I know the magic ingredients in this dish. Okay, and another friend but he promised to make it only for his lover."

Serena hesitated for a mont, her fingers brushing the edge of the plate as she leaned in closer, inhaling deeply. The rich, inviting scent was too tempting to ignore and there a familiarity to it that she did not wish to ignore... "Alright," she said softly, picking up her fork. "Just one bite."

The first taste was heavenly. The light, airy texture of the souffle lted on her tongue, the flavors perfectly balanced between creamy and savory. A soft, involuntary moan of appreciation escaped her lips, and her eyes widened in delight. This was the most amazing thing she had eater, ever. Or at least ever since she could rember waking up.

"Wow," she murmured, her voice filled with genuine awe. She glanced at Luca, "This is incredible. Thank you."

Luca grinned, clearly pleased with her reaction. "I’m glad you like it. It’s not every day I get to impress soone with such refined taste."

Serena nodded appreciatively and quickly took another bite, savoring the harmonious blend of flavors. A pleased smile spread across her face as she turned her attention back to Luca, who had now made himself comfortable at the table.

"It’s the cayenne pepper," she remarked thoughtfully, her voice confident yet casual. "That subtle kick of heat—it’s what’s giving it the perfect spiciness and balancing the creaminess."

Luca’s eyes widened in surprise, his brow lifting in admiration. Even Edwin couldn’t hide his shock. From everything he knew about Serena, she had never been much of a cook.

Edwin’s gaze darted to Luca, silently seeking confirmation. His friend’s expression said it all: she was absolutely right. Luca leaned forward, a curious grin tugging at his lips. "How in the world did you know that? Cayenne pepper is my secret ingredient," he admitted, almost grudgingly. "I’m usually so careful about masking it in the flavors. Even seasoned chefs don’t catch it easily."

Serena shrugged her entire being focused on the food, though there was a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes as she looked and answered. "I don’t know," she replied, "I think I might have seen soone make this before. It just... feels familiar sohow."

Luca shrugged and answered," This is not fair. You are telling that soone has already created and made this masterpiece for you before? This will not do. You have to co back here again so that I can try my other recipes on you, in case you’ve had them in the past as well."

Edwin grimaced at his friend. Serena would not take kindly to that, but to his surprise, Serena actually looked up and nodded," Alright. I would like that. But you have to feed sothing tasty like this always."
