Capital City,

Ivan’s higher Arcane University.

Principal’s office.

"He will be here soon..."

Thomas looked at that ti as he leaned his back against the couch.

"Hmm, yeah, the tea you made is quite good by the way..."

Reynald sipped the tea while sitting beside him.

"Er... is it really necessary to sit right beside ? Can’t you sit sowhere else?"

Thomas was annoyed that Reynald sat down right beside him while the other couch was entirely empty.

He doesn’t like soone stronger than himself being so close to him, as that makes him feel cautious.

"Oh, co on, I left the other couch empty just so that Jareth can co and take a brief rest you know... he’s been to such a dangerous place after all..."

Jareth barely spent a week inside the wailing hills area, and after coming out, he sent a ssage back that he will be making the return trip soon.

Even though he ca back early, he had without a doubt entered a forbidden area filled with many uncontrollable phenona; he would likely be tired from such a trip.

"Ugh, don’t make excuses. With that guy’s level of strength, I wonder if anyone can even make him feel exhausted at all. he ca back without a single injury from the Abyss Altar Area you know..."

Thomas shook his head at Reynald’s words.

*Shing!*

Just when Reynald was about to make so other excuses, the automatic door of the principal room opened and Jareth walked inside.

The mont he entered the room, the atmosphere in the room tensed up instantly, the light flickered several tis, and the air vibrated on its own as the flow of mana was disturbed by Jareth’s presence.

Not only Thomas, but even Reynald felt suppressed by that presence, and they both were shocked to the core.

Jareth didn’t care about their shocked expressions and walked over to the couch.

He snatched the tea from Reynald’s hands and gulped it down.

"Phew~ That was one exhausting trip. I don’t think I will be going on such an expedition any ti soon..."

Reynald frowned a bit and asked in doubtful voice,

"Last ti I saw you... I don’t think you were strong... how co your aura has beco so much stronger all of a sudden, almost as if you have surpassed the grade-1 realm itself..."

"I don’t think that old coot had such a powerful aura either..."

Reynald hadn’t sensed this kind of powerful aura ever before; not even the previous principal, who had lived for over a century, had this powerful of an aura.

"It’s nothing; I just managed to break through my bottleneck by sheer chance... Also, I am still just a grade-1 mage; I can’t break through the next realm either..."

"Likely only Mark can do that..."

Jareth shook his head and denied imdiately.

"Hoh, so you did sense the specialness of my son heh..."

Jareth’s eyes narrowed at those words as he replied in a calm tone,

"Indeed.... But don’t be mistaken, he’s my student before he’s your son."

Thomas could almost see sparks colliding between Jareth and Reynald when the topic of Mark was ntioned.

Reynald was proud of his son and refused to let anyone else take him. Jareth, on the other hand, was very aware of Mark’s potential, and thus he trained him personally; he wouldn’t let Reynald have Mark either.

After knowing the real truth of this world, Jareth has finally understood one thing: Mark is special.

Jareth has beco a torchbearer of ’Hope,’ and Mark is that ’Hope.’

All those extinct races, all of their destiny, and all of their hopes culminated into one, and all of that manifested into the form of a talented child who can one day create a new future for this planet.

As long as Jareth manages to open the portal and succeeds in bringing Mark with him, he will be able to bring the combined destiny of all the races outside the sea of miasma.

This way, new and more possibilities will open up for a better future.

...

"Ahem! Co on, you two! Stop being so childish; Mark is a kid with his own independent mind; he will choose whoever he likes more..."

"Stop ntioning this topic now... Let’s get back to the main topic..."

Hearing Thomas, Jareth stopped staring daggers into Reynald’s face and leaned his back against the couch as he relaxed and spoke calmly.

"Truthfully speaking, there’s not much to report. I didn’t find a single mber of the false do cult in the wailing hills area even after I searched through the entire area for them..."

"The entire area is almost comparable to hell on earth; it’s near impossible for weaker mbers of the cult to survive in that kind of place..."

At Jareth’s words, Reynald narrowed his eyes and asked,

"Does that an that so higher-up of the cult, or perhaps their leader, might have entered the wailing hills?"

To that question, Jareth didn’t give a straightforward answer.

"As I said, I couldn’t find any of them, but I did find a bit of traces that might be related to them... also, I have already dealt with the entire tribe of the wyverns living there so we don’t have to worry about them for now..."

Thomas was shocked by Jareth’s words.

"You slaughtered all of the miasma-infected wyverns on your own!? You have beco really strong; that’s impressive!"

Jareth waved his hand at those words and replied calmly,

"Don’t be happy so soon; like I said, I have a feeling that the false do cult is definitely brewing up sothing big... we need our armies ready for any possible situations that may arise..."

Jareth was going to get busy with his device, and he might not be able to take care of other matters for a while; that’s why he was subtly hinting that Reynald should put the military on alert.

Also, once Jareth completes his device, he will take Mark and leave. If Reynald is gone to the frontlines at that ti, it would be easier to simply kidnap the little guy and disappear without a trace.

Moreover, with his warning, the nation might take the threat seriously and deploy so troops to protect the borders.

That way, even if the false do does not do anything, the troops might be more prepared for a possible apocalypse that will co soon.

After reading all the mories of the other races, Jareth now knows that it’s impossible to hide from the sea of miasma, and Zion’s plan will fail miserably and might even cause trendous suffering.

Now that he knows this, he does not have to engage with Zion in a battle of ideologies.

Originally, he was not sure if Zion’s ideology was worthy or worthless, but now he knows that it’s completely dog sh*t and will only bring them damnation.

"Sigh, those sick freaks, they are always causing trouble for ... okay, I will talk with the governnt and arrange the military..."

Reynald took Jareth’s warning seriously and decided to involve the military.

"I still have a lot of things to do... I learned a lot of things in this trip and I need to digest all my new skills. you two take care of the rest; I am leaving..."

After chatting for a bit more with the two, Jareth got up to take his leave.

He did not want to waste even a single day and was dying to start working on his device as soon as possible; thus, he took his leave early.

While walking through the corridors of the building, Jareth looked at the peaceful scenery outside and sighed to himself.

’The ti of the final decision is getting close... I hope to live in this peace for bit more before I make my decision... but I have no ti, sigh...’

Without wasting anymore ti, Jareth took his car and headed ho right after.
