The next day.
When Gu Feng got up and passed by the kitchen at ho, he unexpectedly saw breakfast on the table.
He walked closer and noticed a note on top.
It read: "I went to the office, this is the breakfast I prepared for you. Mom said she will periodically check if I am doing a good job at ho. If you wake up late, rember to heat it in the microwave. If you don’t like it, just throw it away."
There was also a cute pouting cartoon face drawn on the note.
Seeing that the corn soup and bread were still warm, Gu Feng sat down and began eating.
Shortly after, the doorbell rang.
As he prepared to answer the door, he instinctively used his right eye to preview the scene behind it.
Soon, he opened the door and saw a woman—Zhong Li.
Returning to the present, Gu Feng continued chewing his bread and after pondering for a while, stood up to open the door for Zhong Li.
Outside, Zhong Li in her short skirt and long legs looked at him and asked, "Can I co in?"
Gu Feng nodded and stepped aside to let her in.
Zhong Li walked gracefully into the house, and seeing Gu Feng head towards the kitchen, she dropped her bag on the living room sofa and followed him.
Seeing Gu Feng’s simple al, she said, "How can this breakfast possibly be nutritious? Let make sothing for you. Just sit for a while; it won’t take long."
She smiled, rolled up her sleeves, and prepared to check the fridge for ingredients.
But Gu Feng said, "No need, I think this is quite good."
Zhong Li stared at him blankly, and Gu Feng grinned jokingly, "This wild boar isn’t used to the fine bran you cook."
Zhong Li could only stand there and changed the subject, asking, "Auntie (Yu Ling) has been here, hasn’t she?"
Gu Feng nodded, "Was it you who told her?"
Zhong Li nodded, "How is it? Is Auntie satisfied with this daughter-in-law?"
"Quite satisfied." Gu Feng was also surprised; this ti his mom really liked Lin Yue as a daughter-in-law. When leaving, she repeatedly urged them to have children soon and asked her and Gu Feng to return to Beijing to greet the elders.
"This is sowhat surprising to . Miss Lin actually passed a test that many of your previous rumored girlfriends couldn’t." While saying this, Zhong Li glanced around the main and side bedrooms.
She ticulously noticed that the room Gu Feng had left open seed to have nothing belonging to a woman.
This detail revealed a lot of information, causing her lips to curve upward, and she said, "But passing Auntie and Uncle’s test is useless, she can’t get through your test."
"Three years since we last t, and you’re still the sa," Gu Feng teased as he looked at Zhong Li, "Haven’t married yet?"
"Who am I to marry if you won’t co and take ?" Zhong Li rolled her eyes at him.
"I’m married, just not to you," Gu Feng responded with a smile. "You can’t expect to divorce her and then marry you, can you?"
"I don’t mind," Zhong Li confidently approached Gu Feng, lifted her chin proudly, and looked at him, "Considering your current situation, it might be difficult for you to return to the army, but if I insist on marrying you, with my parents’ help, and joining both families, it could be possible."
Her slender fingertips traced Gu Feng’s collar as she breathed softly, "So, don’t make wait too long."
With that, she walked gracefully to the sofa, picked up her bag, and after throwing a aningful glance at Gu Feng, she turned and left.
Gu Feng didn’t see her out, instead, he just sat in the kitchen, continuing to eat the breakfast Lin Yue had made for him.
He burst into a sudden, quiet laugh: "Can’t go back? Then I’ll just wait for you to beg to return."
