Liu Yuan, as if she had discovered a new continent, wouldn’t let Lin Yue work at all. She crouched down beside her and whispered incessantly, "Co clean, that night, who fell asleep and who stayed awake?"
Lin Yue’s face flushed to her ears.
Liu Yuan imdiately realized, "No, if you had fallen asleep, you wouldn’t be asking why that kind of tornt happens."
Her pupils dilated, and she looked at Lin Yue with a huff, "Lin Yue, you’re done for, you’ve fallen in love."
"Hey, keep your voice down!" Lin Yue suddenly looked up and glared at Liu Yuan, afraid that Gu Feng might hear what they were saying.
Liu Yuan chuckled softly to confirm, "Don’t tell , you’ve fallen for him?"
Lin Yue awkwardly said, "If you say that’s what liking soone ans, then I guess so."
Liu Yuan, "What about Gu Feng, then?"
Lin Yue, "I don’t know. Anyway, he fell asleep pretty quickly that night."
"How could he fall asleep?" Liu Yuan was incredulous, "Facing such a beautiful woman like you—every young and promising man in Jiangcheng wants to touch your divine beauty, and your figure is top-notch. Even if you were wearing an explosively unfashionable red cotton-padded jacket that night, I reckon n couldn’t restrain themselves!"
"Thanks for the complints," Lin Yue said gloomily, "I was thinking, like you said, maybe I’m not his type."
She suddenly thought of the woman on the phone call.
A woman who acted coquettishly and asked Gu Feng to pick her up from the airport.
Taking into account what Liu Yuan said, maybe he already had soone he liked in his heart.
Liu Yuan couldn’t bear to see her bestie so downcast. In her eyes, Lin Yue had always been the goddess and the unattainable dream to others from childhood to adulthood.
"We can’t really say that. Maybe Gu Feng is actually gay."
Snort.
Lin Yue couldn’t help but laugh, "Didn’t you just say that he’s oozing with masculinity within a several ter radius?"
"Maybe it’s all an act?" Liu Yuan suggested, "The more soone is gay, the more they tend to present themselves as very masculine."
She continued to self-rationalize to comfort Lin Yue, "Otherwise, why would he choose to register for marriage with you? I’m telling you, I’ve actually seen gays get married to won because of the pressure from their families and society’s judgntal eyes, but in private, they still play their own ga."
"Don’t you think it makes sense?" Liu Yuan got more excited as she spoke, "You need a marriage certificate to deal with being forced into a marriage arranged by your family to a man you don’t like, but what about him? Have you ever thought about his reasons?"
Lin Yue frowned, "Isn’t it a bit inappropriate to speculate about soone else’s life without understanding the situation?"
Liu Yuan glared, "Lin Yue, I’m saying all this to comfort you. Are you seriously not willing to hear your sister talk bad about him? You’re a goner, I tell you, you’ve fallen in love, because you’ve never interacted with the opposite sex from a young age, so you’ve given all your first experiences to Gu Feng, making it very easy for you to fall!"
Lin Yue didn’t react imdiately, "I didn’t give anything though, nothing happened that night."
"I’m not talking about that!" Liu Yuan was almost spitting blood, "I an your first ti getting up and coming back to see a male face that wasn’t your father’s; him appearing over and over again in your mind; your first ti riding in a man’s car, especially in the passenger seat; your first ti holding his arm, the first ti being led by hand by a man, feeling his warmth and the scent of cigarettes he exudes; even the first ti being alone in the sa room together—even if nothing happened, but when all your first experiences are focused on one man, it’s fatal!"
Lin Yue added in her mind: And the first ti he carried , the first ti he took to the hospital, the first ti I felt soone stay by my side while I was on a drip, the first ti going out to eat with him, the first ti I saw him take my side against his prospective arranged dates.
The first ti he fed dicine and took care of .
Maybe Liu Yuan was right, although she had known Gu Feng for only a month, all these experiences that she had never had as a woman were subtly conditioning Lin Yue to not mind the idea of ’becoming a wife’ or ’getting used to having a husband’!
"So this is what those firsts feel like," Lin Yue said with a flushed face, asking, "Then what does that first ti feel like?"
Liu Yuan’s eyes widened as she laughed in frustration, "Your husband’s room is right there, can’t you just go in and find out for yourself?"
Lin Yue actually glanced towards Gu Feng’s room, then said, "Forget it, it would be too embarrassing if he rejected ."
Liu Yuan’s eyelids twitched, "My dear, did you consider the feelings of those who developed crushes and got rejected by you growing up?"
"I’m feeling it now," Lin Yue said with mock seriousness, "So to avoid that embarrassnt, I better prepare so more first."
Liu Yuan had a bad premonition, "What are you going to do?"
Lin Yue, "I’ll try being a wife, taking care of my husband. If he doesn’t notice, it’s okay, I’m just going along with the act anyway. But if he does notice, then I can confess without the embarrassnt of being rejected."
Liu Yuan, "..."
I’m really going to cry!
