Tyler spun around, to see who this Blaze guy that has succeeded in capturing every single lady's attention on the table was.
"Oh..." Tyler saw the reason why. The man before him wasn't just good-looking but could be compared to a supermodel with an edge. He didn't recognize the face even though the na, Blaze, struck a bell in his mory.
'But where have I heard of that na before?' Tyler pondered.
Murmurs rippled across the table and a few nearby tables, with most of the ladies ogling at the handso CEO, who was rarely seen socializing with won except if it ant business.
Alia sat, rooted to a single spot as she held Blaze's masked stormy gaze. His eyes were a bit flared with indignation and for a mont, it seed the world had gone silent around them.
Alia drank in Blaze's captivating look, a reminder of his charming nature.
He was cladded in a signature all-black tuxedo paired with well-polished black leather shoes and a customised golden Rolex wristwatch, all of which exuded effortless charm, authority and power.
Anyone could even mistake him for one of the handso male models in the event hall. However, his masked gaze which was seething into a burning rage spoke volus of the turmoil inside of him.
"Blaze, how nice of you to join us?" Tina clasped her hand happily.
Ignoring Tina completely, which increased the intensity of gossiping around her, Blaze addressed Tyler as though he was talking to one of his subordinates in the office.
"Move aside while I talk to these beautiful ladies."
"What? Who the hell are you to tell what to do?" Tyler snarled infuriated by Blaze's rude tone.
"Shit!" Alia cursed in her heart, worried that Blaze might end up punching Tyler in the face.
Tina, seeing this as a rare opportunity to defend Blaze while marking her territory, made her way to him while speaking to Tyler.
"Mr Tyler, it seems you are not conversant with this handso man standing before us. He is my very special friend, a man dear to my heart and my..."
"Excuse ?" Blade rudely pushed Tina's hands towards Tyler as she reached out to touch him.
"Ah..." Tina gasped. She was already leaning all her weight forward towards Blaze, hoping to hug him against his earlier warning but found herself in Tyler's arms looking all flushed and embarrassed. She quickly freed herself from Tyler's embrace, mortified by the glaring pairs of eyes fixed on her.
Muffled gasps and amused whispers ca from different corners of the table and other tables nearby.
"What the hell just happened?" Joanna whispered to Nicole who was silently amused.
"Evidence to show that she was lying about everything." Nicole's tone bore a hint of mockery. "We just got the confirmation."
"Miss Steven, I do not appreciate such repulsive gestures" Blaze's cold and emotionless voice rapped in Tina's ears. "We are neither friends nor acquaintances. So be guided."
"Blaze!" Tina's weakened voice was barely audible as tears clouded her shimring eyes, leaving Tyler angrier than before. He was greatly vexed by Blaze's action and Tina's clumsiness. He didn't want anything that would ruin his opportunity to be with Alia.
"Hey, that's not cool. You don't treat won that way. She was just trying to be nice."
Blaze's scowl intensified, his heart inflad with rage and his fist clenched as he tilted his gaze briefly to look at the maggot food that had been ssing with his wife before reverting to Alia and her friends
"Ahem...." Stacy cleared her throat loudly attracting both n's attention. "Can you both please take one of us to the dance floor? Most of us here are single and available." She said, hoping Blaze would just take his wife and leave.
"Yeah!" All the ladies on the table aside Tina and Alia concurred excitedly.
Sadly both n had an eye for just one lady.
Blaze returned his slightly softened gaze to Alia.
"Alia, would you like to dance?"
"What?" Tina's jaw dropped.
"No way, man." Tyler shook his head. "I asked her first."
"Yes. I would like to dance with you." Alia's sharp response took all her friends except Stacy by surprise.
"So I was right after all." Tina echoed in her heart, her tears threatening to fall. She stared at Alia briefly before standing up and excusing herself from the table.
Joanna, who was also rendered speechless by Alia's response also stood up and followed Tina out of the hall.
From where they were seated, Jerry and Gwen watched the ongoing drama on Alia's table unfold. Even though they could barely hear what was being discussed due to the booming music, they could guess what was happening as they watched Alia rise from her seat.
"Everyone, please excuse .".Alia avoided all the pairs of eyes staring quizzically at her as she picked up her purse and strolled towards Blaze.
However, Tyler wasn't about to lose her to this heartless intruder. He impulsively blocked her path and tried to reason with her.
"I know what you're doing, Miss Alia. But you don't have to dance with him if you don't want to." Tyler said, restraining himself from touching her on the shoulder. "We were all having so much fun before, Mr Blaze or whatever he calls himself showed up. Moreover, I was about to take you to the dance floor before his rude interruption. Dance with instead." He stretched his right hand at her.
Muffled gasps were heard across the table as everyone held their breath, afraid of what Blaze would do next.
"Mr Young, thanks for your concern but I'm fine with my choice. Now, if you will excuse ." Alia forced a smile.
"Are you seriously considering this rude stranger over or is there sothing I'm missing?" Tyler felt his pride trampled upon as he brought down his hand.
"Mr Tyler, please, let through." Alia held Blaze's inferno while pleading with him nonverbally.
Sensing trouble, Stacy stood up to help pacify Tyler.
"Fine, if it makes you happy." Tyler turned his jealous and piqued gaze towards Blaze. "If you dare hurt her the way you did Miss Tina. You will have to contend with."
Alia's face paled. She watched in complete horror as Blaze moved closer to Tyler, each silent step hamring like a warning gong in her pounding heart.
Everyone on the table and other guests, whose attention had been drawn to the two handso n, held their breath as Blaze stopped a few inches from Tyler.
"GET OUT of her path this instant before I make you disappear." Blaze's words were slow, intense and terrifying, causing beads of sweat to break up on Tyler's forehead.
"And if I don't?" Tyler replied in a challenging tone, testosterone pumping into his bulging veins and blinding his sense of reasoning.
Alia hurried between both n to stop the inevitable from taking place. She placed her hands on Blaze's clenched fist, stroking it gently to ta the awakening beast in him, an action that didn't go unnoticed by her friends and other people close by.
"Please, let's just go."
"Hmm..." Blaze gritted his teeth more infuriated that Alia was begging for Tyler. "Sure, whatever you say, beautiful." He slowly snaked his hand around Alia's slim waist and pulled her closer to his side, a deliberate action that made Alia frown and Tyler almost insane with envy.
"Alia, are you scared of this man? Don't let him bully you. I can protect you from him." Tyler was deeply hurt by the fact that Alia was choosing a brute over him.
"Mr Young, can you please stop talking nonsense." Alia snapped angrily at him, taking Tyler and the others by surprise. "You have no right to speak on my behalf. Now if you will excuse ."
She turned her attention back to Blaze whose dangerous and chilly gaze was locked with hers. "Shall we?"
"As you wish." Blaze spared Tyler one last aningful look before leaving with Alia.
But instead of going to the dance floor, they both left in the direction of the exit.
"What an asshole." Tyler took his seat feeling frustrated and furious. He picked up his class of champagne on the table and gulped down the entire content.
"Mr Tyler, it seems you have a death wish going face-to-face with Mr Blaze Anderson," Stacy said, eying the foolish man.
"Who?" Tyler was stunned.
"Blaze Anderson, the billionaire chairman and CEO of Andex groups." Adriana chid. "Don't tell you don't know him. He's not the type of man you want to pick a fight with."
"That was Mr Blaze Anderson!" Tyler echoed, fear crippling his drumming heart.
"Yes, and you've so have found your way into his naughty list. I heard that he doesn't forgive easily." Nicole shook her head, already feeling sorry for Tyler.
"Shit!"
Tyler knew that na, 'Blaze' was sohow familiar but he never expected to be standing before the renowned Blaze Anderson. He thought the man was a legendary ghost in country X.
Having been a lawyer for almost five years, Tyler had been privileged to encounter different calibres of dangerous humans ranging from die-hard criminals to ruthless cartel leaders. They all had one thing in common which was to inspire fear and reverence in people. They never bluffed and they never forgive.
He had heard n thought to be monsters in country X cower at that na, Blaze Anderson. He even thought this infamous dangerous devil was a mature man in his early fifties with grey hair and not the young handso man he just confronted.
"If that is Mr Blaze Anderson, Why is Alia with him? Are they lovers?" Tyler asked, panic lacing his tone
