Alia returned ho feeling more drained and anxious than ever after receiving Blaze's text ssage. She was mad at herself for getting carried away and Pascal for reporting her to his boss.

Now, because of her, a young and famous man's life could be at risk.

Every attempt made to contact Blaze was t with a cold silence. She could tell he was really mad at her because he wasn't taking her calls or replying to her text ssages.

After taking her bath and eating sothing light, she retired to bed for the night, her thoughts in chaos.

Then an idea hit her.

Picking up her phone, she dialled Marcus's number. Luckily for her, he picked on the first ring.

"Good evening, Madam." Marcus's tone was cheerful and polite as always.

'Madam!' Alia felt odd at being addressed with such a title. She preferred when she was simply addressed as Miss Shawls.

"Good evening, Marcus. How are you?"

"I'm great, ma'am. I trust you also doing okay."

"Yes. Thank you." Alia cleared her throat before asking.

"Are you by any chance close to Mr Anderson?"

"N-No ma'am," Marcus replied. "Is there any problem ma'am?"

Alia spotted the hesitation in Marcus's voice and said.

"There is no problem but can you do a favor?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Can you put the phone on speaker mode?"

There was another hesitation before Marcus replied,

"Okay, ma'am."

There was a slight pause before Marcus spoke again. "Is now on speaker mode ma'am."

"Thank you. I want you to pass this ssage to your boss for , quoting exactly by my words."

"Okay, ma'am."

Alia inhaled and exhaled to stifle her anxiety before speaking in a calm and soothing voice.

"Blaze, I'm sorry for the way you feel right now. You completely misunderstood what you saw. First of all, I have no idea who sent flowers and I don't waste my ti daydreaming about secret admirers when I have a company to run. Secondly, I admit that I made a new friend today and I don't rember the contract denying from making friends. Lastly, I understand you're a very jealous man and I also understand that I may have been overly excited when I hugged Mr Henry Gordon. But you can be rest assured that there is nothing more to it. I just happened to be one of his biggest fans. Please, don't do anything stupid. He is just an actor."

There was a long deafening silence before Blaze's deep and cold voice echoed in Alia's ear.

"Go to bed."

The call disconnected leaving behind a beautiful smile on Alia's face. She slipped the phone under her pillow, her cheeks glowing red as she ntally pictured his stoned face scowling at her.

She heard her phone buzzing under the pillow and picked it up thinking it was Blaze. But to her surprise, the call was from an unknown number.

"Who could this be?" Alia thought out loud, staring blankly at her ringing phone screen. She hesitated a bit before swiping the phone to the right.

"Hello." She said, pressing the phone to her ear. But instead of a response, she heard the low dreadful sound of soone, possibly a male snarling in the background like a Tasmanian devil.

Alia's body stiffened, goosebumps covering her exposed body. But she summoned the courage to speak with authority.

"Who is this? Speak or get off my phone."

"Alia..." The deep, raspy and callous voice of a predator rapped in her ear. "Run...run...run, while you still can. Because no one is going to save you from when the ti cos. You owe a life and you will pay with blood."

Beads of sweat broke up on Alia's forehead as the call disconnected. She tossed the phone on the bed, her hands trembling. She quickly climbed out of the bed as if the sheet were covered with stinging red ants, her heart pounding and her breathing heavy.

"Who could this be? And why did he say I owe him a life?" Alia's panicked mind couldn't think of anything at the mont. She couldn't tell if this was Jerry's or her evil family's handiwork. But then this person sounded like soone on a revenge mission and would stop at nothing until he got what he wanted.

Alia picked up her phone again as the thought of informing Blaze crossed her mind. But that would only disrupt his business activities. So she dropped the phone again feeling more miserable. She started pacing up and down the room, brainstorming on what to do.

"You can take care of yourself, Alia. You don't need anyone to do that for you. You are a strong girl." She reassured herself.

Taking in a deep breath to stifle her anxiety, she rechecked all the locks on her door. Then she ard herself with the small gun Blaze gifted her for self-defence. She turned off all the lights leaving only the bedside night lamp on. She climbed on the divan and tried to keep awake, all her senses on the alert for any intruder. But at so point in the night, she dozed off when fatigue and weariness kicked in.

By the following morning, Alia opened her eyes drowsily as her phone alarms kept ringing out loud repeatedly. She climbed down from the divan, turning her neck from side to side which seed a bit stiff. She massaged her throbbing forehead as she stood up to get her phone.

When she found it on her bed, she picked it up and turned off the alarm only to find another missed call and a text ssage from Blaze.

"Shit!" Alia hurriedly scanned the ssage, her heart slamming against her chest as she read.

[Blaze: Why didn't you inform or your bodyguards that soone called and threatened you last night? Do I need to remind you that you are my wife and I am responsible for you at all tis? Whatever you do today, avoid eting up with any of your friends and go straight ho after work. I will see you tomorrow.]

"He knows? How?" Alia was left in a daze. "Is it possible that he has tapped into all of my calls?"
