Over the past two days, Alia had observed sothing different and troubling about her mother-in-law. It alerted her to the possibility that her mother-in-law could be fishing for the truth behind her pregnancy.
It all started with her innocent food craving.
Alia had simply asked her husband to get her a specific brand of yoghurt.
Blaze didn't find the request odd because Dr Ashely had approved of yoghurt as safe for his wife.
Maria on the other hand found this request odd and suspicious. This was the sa brand of yogurt she craved while she was pregnant for Blaze. It has all the complete nutrients needed for a developing child.
From that very mont, Maria started paying more attention to her daughter-in-law, a growing but hidden excitent in her eyes. She would innocently recomnd a al and watch her daughter-in-law devour it like a hungry mama bear.
Keeping her discoveries to herself and away from the couple, Maria beca extra observant and vigilant around her daughter-in-law, taking note of everything including Alia's burp and fart.
She gradually started testing out different theories without Alia's knowledge while checking out her boxes of expectations.
Whenever Alia wanted to use the bathroom, Maria would always offer to help out, even though Alia continuously turned her down, claiming she could do everything by herself.
On one faithful evening, Maria stumbled on Alia's dressing, and innocently joked about her glowing skin and her fuller breast.
From that very mont, Alia beca extra conscious of exposing her body around her mother-in-law.

Back to the present...
Maria strolled over to her beautiful daughter-in-law, who was still seated on the bed with legs hanging down, already dressed in a cread cardigan and loose pants. She gently tucked Alia's lush brown hair behind her ear, a contagious smile spreading across her lips.
"Don't you want to co and spend so quality ti with this old woman?"
Alia pouted cutely. "I want to but..."
"But what?" Maria raised her eyebrows, her shimring eyes holding Alia spellbound.
Blaze chuckled to himself, seeing how Alia had beco tongue-tied. "Welco to my world of emotional blackmail."
Maria briefly cast her son a warning glare before focusing on her daughter-in-law.
"Do you think I'm blackmailing you to co over and stay with ?"
"No." Alia shook her head.
"Then why don't you want to co?"
"Because...because..." Alia's gaze shifted to Blaze who was busy laughing while gathering her remaining stuff into a bag.
"I'll miss my husband." Alia finally said forcing Blaze to look up, his expression filled with perplexity and a deep excitent.
"Aww! How cute." Maria smiled, seeing the raw chemistry on display between them.
"Have you forgotten that your husband also has a room at the mansion? He is welco to spend the entire five days with you. Isn't that right son?" Maria asked innocently while staring pleadingly at her son.
Blaze chuckled and nodded. "Yes, mom. Nothing will give greater pleasure than to spend the entire five days wherever my wife is."
"You see, your husband has also agreed to co over."
Alia broke up in cold sweat, a shiver running down her spine as she suddenly felt trapped. She lowered her head, her heart drumming in her ears as she pondered.
'How am I going to get out of this entrapnt?'
"Alright, since you won't co to , then I'll co to you. Will that make you happy?" Maria asked, slightly worried by the way Alia's hands were trembling.
She couldn't understand why Alia had been secretive about her condition or why Dr Ashely hadn't said anything about it.
Everything she had observed about her daughter-in-law pointed to the fact that she might be pregnant. The only thing left to do was to carry out a pregnancy test and to do this, she needed to be very close to Alia.
"You want to co to the villa?" Alia asked, her voice laced with a hint of panic.
"Yes. Since you don't want to co to the mansion and stay with . Then I'll co to your ho and stay with you. I just want to be beside my daughter-in-law and ensure she's resting like the doctor ordered."
"Babe, I think we should go to Mom's," Blaze suggested, knowing how much his mother loved staying in the mansion due to the peaceful scenery.
Alia nodded reluctantly. "Okay."
"Is that a yes?" Maria asked in a thrilled voice lifting Alia's lowered head.
"Yes, mom," Alia forced a smile.
"Yay!" Maria let out a joyful cry like a child receiving her Christmas gift early. She embraced Alia tenderly and whispered into her ears. "I promise to make these five days morable for you."
A knock on the door interrupted the mother-daughter bonding ti.
"Co in," Blaze called out, signaling Pascal to open the door.
"Aunt Judith," Alia called out happily, rising to her feet.
"How is my favorite niece doing?" Judith hurried over to embrace Alia.
"I'm fine."
"I can see."
Both won chuckled before they were interrupted by a deep masculine voice.
"Dad!" Alia cried out in excitent, running into his arms and jumping in them.
"Hello, princess." Senator Gregory showered his daughter's face with kisses, an action that Blaze found infuriating.
"Mom, I'll take these things downstairs. Keep an eye on my wife." Blaze said, acting as if Alia's father was a threat.
"Okay, son." Maria smiled, knowing her son still bore grudges against the senator even when she had decided to let go of the past all for the sake of Alia.
Alia didn't notice her husband leave the room as she was engulfed in a happy chatter with her Dad and aunt.
Maria partook in the discussion after exchanging pleasantries with the senator and Judith.
"By the way Alia, I completely forgot to give you this." Judith brought out Alia's diamond bracelet from her handbag.
"My bracelet." Alia collected it from Judith beaming as if it was a new gift given to her. She kissed it tenderly and was about to strap it around her wrist when her mother-in-law stepped forward.
"Weren't you having so allergic reaction on your skin yesterday when you tried wearing that leather wristwatch to keep track of ti?" Maria pointed to the fading mark on the back of her left wrist.
"Oh, I forgot." Alia frowned, staring at the diamond bracelet in her hand.
"Let keep that for you. I will give it back to you when your allergy is gone."
"Okay." Alia handed the bracelet to her mother-in-law without a fuss.
They all continued chatting until Blaze returned and announced that it was ti to leave.
