"Amy, don't let what happened this evening bother you too much. They already have a trail on the credit card the lady used to shop for her clothes. They will apprehend her in a matter of minutes and you will get your stolen underwear." These were Stacy's last reassuring words before they both parted ways for the evening.

Though completely weird, It sounded amusing when they both talked about the stolen bra. They even laughed out their hearts hoping to overlook the weirdnesses of the theft or the creepy ssage that the female stalker was trying to pass across.

Currently, lying on her bed, in the safety of her ho, Alia found it difficult to close her eyes. She was hunted by the thoughts that out there, soone with evil intentions towards her may have successfully gotten away with spying and stealing from her.

It has been more than four hours since the incident. Still, Pascal and the people he contacted haven't given her any positive report about the lady with a dual personality.

According to Pascal's last report, they discovered that the credit card the lady used to purchase her clothes was stolen from a gullible old fool. It was also deduced that the lady, whose face have now been made known to the investigating detective, was completely different from the lady who had stolen the credit card. This simply ant that the lady at the boutique was wearing one of those realistic female latex masks, making her real identity a mirage.

Turning and tossing restlessly on her bed, Alia kept suffocating herself with clashing and frightful thoughts until weariness finally set in. She was tornted by nightmares for most of the night.

By the following morning, she was feeling lethargic and irritable, with a banging headache.

Pushing every ugly thought to the back of her mind, she took so aspirin and so rejuvenating tea to boost her energy level. Then she got ready for work and left for the office, occupying herself with lots of activity until it was 3:00 PM.

Alia's phone rang as she was clearing her desk in readiness to leave. She recognized her stepmother's unsaved number in one quick glance and hissed.

"What does the evil witch want now." Alia cursed under her breath as she swiped the receive button sideways.

"How may I help you?" Alia demanded in a deadpan tone.

"Hello Alia, I hope you haven't forgotten about the surprise birthday party we are planning for your dad later this evening or have you changed your mind about coming."

"No. I haven't forgotten Regina and I haven't changed my mind. Is that all?"

"No dear. There is one more thing I'd like to remind you." Regina's relaxed voice only fanned Alia's fury. For all she knew Regina could have been the person behind yesterday's incident.

"I'm listening." Alia scoffed, trying to maintain a calm voice.

"Do not forget to bring your plus one, preferably your charming husband." Regina purred the husband part excitedly.

"Whoever I choose to bring along shouldn't be any of your business, Regina. You should focus on pleasing your husband rather than nosing around my affairs."

Alia hung up, hissing. She knew her stepmother would be raining insults on her at the mont. But she really didn't care. She quickly reached out to Stacy over the phone asking the latter to et up with her at the Shawls mansion.

Afterwards, she left the office for ho to get ready for the evening event.

anwhile, at Shawl mansion, invited guests slowly began to arrive in pairs, adorned in expensive and elegant evening wear, bearing different gifts in their hands. They were received at the entrance by the mansion butler and thoroughly scanned by the security personnel present.

The hostess was nowhere in sight. But her adorable daughter and her elegant son-in-law, both cladded in matching safari blue outfits, stood in for her, receiving guests into the mansion while waiting patiently for their main target. They were also assisted by Pearl, who was secretly looking for the next rich old man to dupe with her fake love.

Other invited mbers of the Shawls family gathered in small groups discussing in low voices and socializing with other influential guests.

Upstairs and behind closed doors, within the comfort of her bedroom, Regina was enduring another round of futile sex with her infuriating brother-in-law, who had entered her room under the disguise of checking up on his sister-in-law.

She had earlier tried to dissuade him to no avail. Instead, he threatened to expose her evil atrocities first to her daughter, who was ignorant of her biological origin.

Frustrated, Regina was forced to give in to Matt's selfish desires. She didn't know how long she would be able to keep up with his continuous blackmail as she was getting fed up with his reckless sexual orgies. She thought about killing him before he had a chance to expose her dark secret. But the smart fool had a backup plan in case he died of any unnatural course. Hence, she was forced to endure his insatiable sexual rough handling while she cunningly tried to get information out of him.

Just then, a knock on her bedroom door startled the cheating couple who were still in the middle of sexual ecstasy.

Like a thieving rat scrabbling at the sight of a cat, the cheating couple untangled from each other's embrace and jumped out of the bed.

"Discharge whoever it is," Matt whispered, picking up his pants and shoes from the floor and dashing into the bathroom.

"Coward!" Regina hissed, pulling her panties up and straightening out her gown. She picked up her perfu and sprayed it on her body to mask Matt's scent on her. Then she took in a deep breath before answering the door.

"Pearl!" Regina frowned. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at the door welcoming guests, alongside Gwen and Jerry?"

"I was until soone showed up with her best friend instead of a husband," Pearl replied, craning her neck to see if Matt was inside her sister's bedroom as usual. She couldn't help wondering why these two kept taking risks doing their dirty business inside the senator's house. What if they get caught?

"Do you say the tramp ca alone without a man?" Regina eyes lit up with evil excitent.

Alia inhaled deeply, calming her spiking nerves as her gaze fell on Gwen and Jerry, standing not too far from the main entrance talking to another couple and laughing heartily. She clenched and unclenched her fist by her side, trying her best to avoid any unnecessary open confrontation.

"Rember, ignore them. That's the only way to put them in their place." Stacy whispered into Alia's ear as she climbed up the slightly elevated step and made her way towards the entrance of the mansion.

"Miss Alia, it's so good to see you. Welco, ma'am." The older butler greeted excitedly with a polite smile.

"Thank you, Sam."

The newly employed security with the scanner who didn't know Alia very well ca forward to check her.

"What are you doing?" Mr Sam snapped at the young athletic man in a black suit, employed by Regina.

"I was going to scan her and the gift she was holding, sir." The young man replied.

"Don't you know this is...."

"Sam, get the maids to serve the guests more drinks. I just got word that Dad has left his office." Gwen said, stepping forward, intentionally cutting him off.

"Yes, madam Gwen." Sam bowed politely and left.

Alia chuckled bitterly at Gwen's deliberate attempt at undermining her authority in her father's house. "Excuse !" She pushed past the security man who was about to follow and challenge her.

"Manuel, let her be. You can check the other guests. She's family and her friend is covered." Gwen gestured authoritatively, exuding the aura of the mansion owner.

"Yes, ma'am."

Gwen didn't give Alia any breathing space as she signalled Jerry, who had positioned himself strategically ahead of Alia.

"Look who we have here. It's my beautiful sister-in-law." Jerry said loudly in a flattering tone, grinning devilishly in his heart while attracting everyone's attention gathered in the lounge area.

"Hello sister-in-law." He attempted to embrace Alia, acting as those they had reconciled their differences.

Alia quickly sported an aloof deanor, putting her hand forward while staring at him as though he was a complete stranger.

"Excuse ? Are you sohow mistaking for soone else? Please, this is my father's house. Keep your shenanigans outside the door and your hands to yourself."

Jerry placed his hands down acting as though he was not affected by her cold words and insult. He stopped her again as she was about to walk away from him.

"Alia, you don't have to remain bitter towards my wife and for the rest of your life. At so point, you just have to forgive and let bygones be bygones. Like it or not, I'm your brother-in-law now and your closest family mber."

"Is that so?" Alia maintained her indifferent composure, ignoring the side murmur and rude comnts directed at her. She could tell Jerry and Gwen had done a good job gaining everyone's favour.

Moreover, most of the invited guests were mostly Regina's social friends and a handful of the Senator's business partners.

"Brother-in-law, my ass." Stacy snickered muttering under her breath.

"Excuse ?" Jerry snarled at Stacy's rude remark. But before he could do anything to lose his temper, Gwen ca by his side and held his arms tenderly.

"Amy, Jerry and I have been talking," Gwen said, leaning her head on his shoulder. "You are soon going to beco an aunt and we were hoping you and your husband can beco the godparents to our unborn child." She concluded stroking her flat stomach.

"Ah!" Wild gasps echoed around the two sisters as Alia's hands slowly balled into a fist.
