Chapter 66: Chapter 63: Nine Waves Technique

But when he recalled the oppressive feeling of that slash, a cold sweat broke out on his back, and the hairs on his arms stood on end. The power of that strike was simply imnse. He even felt that it was more intense than the pressure from his Master’s own Secret Techniques.

However, before Mu Chen could dwell on it, the nine-colored figure nodded at him again. Mu Chen froze, a bad feeling suddenly washing over him. Sure enough, the nine-colored figure abruptly swung the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan in a profound arc before leaping into the air. It raised the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan high above its head. Instantly, the golden light on the fan’s surface faded, and a green glow covered it completely. Primordial Power gathered from all directions, converging on the fan. Waves of Primordial Power erupted from its surface. At the sa ti, four massive green words floated up from the fan and hung in the sky.

"Nine Waves Technique: Death Thorns"

The words flashed. The nine-colored figure plunged downward, fan in hand, and ruthlessly stabbed the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan into the ground. With a sharp DING, the ground beneath Mu Chen’s feet instantly turned green. He imdiately sensed sothing underground, but before he could react, thorny vines erupted from the earth, trapping him completely.

Almost subconsciously, Mu Chen unleashed all his Primordial Power. But no matter how he struggled, the vines only grew tighter. As the thorns pierced his flesh, Mu Chen could feel his Primordial Power being rapidly drained away. His body weakened until his vision went black once more. When his sight returned, he found himself standing in the sa spot, just as before.

The scenes were like an illusion, yet they felt so real. Mu Chen couldn’t help but wonder, ’Is this really a Combat Skill? Can a Combat Skill like this truly exist?’ He found it hard to believe. ’If I possessed such power,’ he was certain, ’I could stand at the very pinnacle of this world.’

The nine-colored figure across from him remained still, one hand holding the fan, the other clasped behind its back. Seeing that Mu Chen had recovered, the figure nodded at him once more. With a flick of its wrist, the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan spun around its body, and a pale blue light covered the fan’s surface. Five massive, light-blue words materialized in the sky.

"Nine Waves Technique: Water Curtain Celestial Splendor"

Primordial Power surged violently as massive waves rushed toward the nine-colored figure, instantly enveloping it and forming a giant sphere of water. Suddenly, countless streams of Sword Qi and other Primordial Power attacks materialized and bombarded the sphere. However, when these Combat Skills made contact, they only caused the water’s surface to ripple, failing to penetrate it at all. This was a powerful Defense Combat Skill.

This ti, Mu Chen wasn’t the target of the attack, and he breathed a quiet sigh of relief. He was truly terrified of the power unleashed by these Combat Skills. The sensation of being torn to shreds in an instant was absolutely horrible, even if it wasn’t painful.

The curtain of water gradually receded, and the nine-colored figure appeared before Mu Chen once more. It was as if its Primordial Power was an eternal, inexhaustible spring, allowing it to unleash Combat Skills as easily as swinging a sword. The figure nodded at Mu Chen again and slowly lowered the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan to its side. In an instant, the pale blue light vanished, replaced by a fiery red that engulfed the entire fan. Tongues of fla licked up from its surface, and the ambient temperature instantly shot up by several degrees. And just like before, five red words flew out from the fan.

"Nine Waves Technique: Phoenix Dance Nine Heavens"

The nine-colored figure made no superfluous movents. With a forceful wave of its right hand, a sea of fire instantly materialized before Mu Chen. The inferno, like a Demon unleashed from hell, lunged at him with massive claws. Mu Chen was smarter this ti; he simply focused on experiencing the Combat Skill’s power without trying to resist with his Primordial Power. The sea of fire surged onward, but halfway to its target, it suddenly transford. A colossal Fire Phoenix appeared, and the mont it did, it threw its head back and let out a piercing shriek.

"SCREECH!"

After its cry, the Fire Phoenix’s body flickered and divided into nine identical phoenixes. They locked onto Mu Chen from all directions and charged.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

Nine trendous explosions rocked the space. After detonating, the Fire Phoenixes rged back into a raging sea of fire, filling the entire Void Space with flas. The mont the first Fire Phoenix reached Mu Chen, the explosion incinerated him, turning him to ash before he even had a chance to scream.

His vision went black, then cleared again. Mu Chen took a deep breath. There was still no pain, but the searing heat and the violent explosion had made his heart tremble. He understood that if this Combat Skill were ever aid at a city, that city would be annihilated in an instant.

The nine-colored figure stood as before. It nodded at Mu Chen, then leaped into the air again. The fiery red on the fan’s face silently receded, replaced by a yellow glow. Streams of powerful Primordial Power converged on its surface, and Mu Chen imdiately felt a sense of imnse weight from the figure. Six yellow words floated up from the fan.

"Nine Waves Technique: Mountain Collapse and Earth Split"

The na alone suggested this attack was not to be underestimated. And indeed, the nine-colored figure snapped the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan shut and brought it crashing down with the force of a mountain splitting in two.

"BOOM!"

A trendous roar echoed out, and the resulting scene made Mu Chen’s jaw drop in horror...

The instant the closed Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan slamd down, an invisible shockwave of overwhelming power completely shattered the space in a hundred-ter radius around Mu Chen. His body, along with the shattered space, broke apart into countless fragnts.

His vision went black again. When Mu Chen ca to, the nine-colored figure didn’t nod this ti. It simply stood there, motionless. After a long mont, it finally nodded at him. With a flick of its hand, the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan snapped open with a sharp WHOOSH. A faint green light covered its surface, and a hurricane-like wind swept out. Once again, five words appeared in the air.

"Nine Waves Technique: Ten Directions Kill"

The words flashed, and the nine-colored figure began to spin rapidly. It continuously waved the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan, unleashing streams of light green Qi Force that resembled Wind Blades. These blades ford and fanned out from the figure, covering an area several thousand ters in radius. It was safe to say that anyone standing within this range would be utterly shredded. Ten Directions Kill—it was truly a slaughter in all ten directions.

After the technique was complete, the nine-colored figure’s spinning body slowly ca to a halt. It didn’t pause for a mont. The color on the fan’s surface quickly receded, and a pure blue erged. Primordial Power surged out once again. In stark contrast to Phoenix Dance Nine Heavens, the surrounding temperature instantly plumted. A cold current blasted from the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan, shrouding the area in a layer of ice mist that obstructed all vision.

"Nine Waves Technique: Ice Prison Cold Mist"

Mu Chen only saw these five words for the brief instant they flashed. He was now completely enveloped in the ice mist. The temperature inside was low, but it didn’t feel as powerful as he had imagined.

Suddenly, a cloud of mist right next to him stirred. White ice crystals began to form with a soft HISS, growing into a patch of sharp ice spikes. Like the spines of a sea urchin, the spikes suddenly shot out. Caught off guard, Mu Chen felt a gash open on his face. This was only the beginning. Before he could react, the mist all around him began to sprout sharp ice spikes. In an instant, his body was pierced by countless spikes from all sides, like being run through by ten thousand arrows. The sight of his body, covered from head to toe in dense spikes, was absolutely horrifying.

The entire area enveloped by the mist had transford into a field of ice spikes. His vision went black, and once again, Mu Chen’s body was restored to pristine condition. A drop of cold sweat slid down his cheek. ’The attacks of this Nine Waves Technique are just too bizarre,’ he thought. ’There’s no way to defend against them.’

"Nine Waves Technique: Thunderous Roar of the Nine Heavens"

The first thing Mu Chen saw when his vision returned were six silver words floating in the air. Then, the nine-colored figure gripped the handle of the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan with both hands. With a sharp pull, the fan split into two parts. Thunder Light surged across their surfaces, letting out a sharp CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

Next, the nine-colored figure flashed to Mu Chen’s side. It slipped its hands through the rings on the two fan sections and began a brutally fast close-quarters assault. Its speed was like a flash of lightning, and each strike was accompanied by a blinding flare, making it impossible to keep one’s eyes open.

Mu Chen was slashed backward again and again, his body reduced to dust in the span of a single breath. When his vision cleared, the nine-colored figure was already standing opposite him, the two fan sections having recombined into one. A terrifying aura erupted from the figure, and under its pressure, Mu Chen felt as if he were gazing up at the heavens themselves.

A gray aura slowly seeped from the nine-colored figure’s body. It faced Mu Chen and held out its right hand. The Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan, already closed, floated silently in front of its palm. Suddenly, a gray curtain of light erupted from the center of the fan. As the light passed, the fan split into two parts. One set of ribs pointed straight up, while the other pointed to the side. One of the sections began to rotate slowly around the ring at the hilt. With each rotation, a wisp of gray aura seeped out and drifted into the sky, slowly forming four blurry, gray words.

"Nine Waves Technique: Mastering Nothingness."

As these four words flashed, Mu Chen suddenly felt an imnse pressure from all directions. This pressure pinned him firmly in place. Not only was his body completely immobile, but his consciousness was also frozen in its last mont of thought. Control over space and ti—this was Mastering Nothingness.

Mu Chen was trapped for a long ti before he ca to his senses. This ti, the nine-colored figure did not unleash another Combat Skill but simply stood there quietly. Then, the ethereal voice once again echoed in Mu Chen’s mind.

"The Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan has nine forms in total. When separated, they manifest as nine powerful Combat Skills, which fall into five categories: offensive, defensive, control, close-quarters, and Deceitful Skill. Each form has the power to destroy heaven and earth, but they can only be used when the nine corresponding Attributes have been cultivated to their absolute peak. When combined, they beco a single, fluid Combat Skill set. The nine separated forms have been demonstrated. What follows are the nine Combined Forms."

As the voice faded, the nine-colored figure began to move. With twists of its wrist, the Nine Spirits Profound Jade Fan traced a series of bizarre patterns in the air. The figure now moved like a combat sprite, nimble and elegant. With slashes, thrusts, and parries, it wielded the fan in an impenetrable flurry. Each strike flowed seamlessly into the next, forming an unbroken chain, a perfect fusion of offense and defense.
