Chapter 122: Chapter 119: Ten Thousand Flowers dical Scripture
Mu Chen was completely lost; he had no idea what it was talking about. The phantom of the giant beast, however, seed to be muttering to itself before speaking again, "Never mind. Little one, do you know who I am?"
Mu Chen quickly shook his head. He really didn’t know. The giant beast’s phantom looked at him with a disdainful yet proud gaze and said, "I am the Land Beast God, the Snow Qilin."
That single sentence made Mu Chen’s pupils shrink violently. The Snow Qilin saw the change in Mu Chen’s expression and nodded in satisfaction. "It seems you’ve heard my na. Not bad."
BUZZ...
Suddenly, crackles of thunder erupted from the black hole in the sky. The already distorted space twisted even more violently. The Snow Qilin looked up at the Azure Sky, her expression suddenly turning serious. She let out a low cry, "Damn it, I’m running out of ti."
After speaking, she turned her gaze back to Mu Chen, looking at him with a grave expression. She continued, "Little one, my ti is short, but I have many things I need to tell you. For the next little while, do not speak. Just listen."
Hearing this, Mu Chen was stunned for a mont before his expression also turned serious. "Go on."
The Snow Qilin nodded. "What is speaking to you now is a consciousness I left behind. Though it is just a consciousness, it possesses its own intelligence. This consciousness was ant to appear when I was reborn through reincarnation. The one it was supposed to speak with should have been my true self, but I never expected a little one like you to get lucky and actually form a Life and Death Contract with my main body."
"I know you want to ask why." The Beast God saw Mu Chen’s brow furrow slightly and smiled. "Although we Beast Gods are said to have lives as long as the heavens, and it’s true we have no life limit, the Laws of this world are fair. We possess infinite lifespans, but we also have imnse restrictions. Every million years, our main bodies must reincarnate once. This is true for , and it is true for Jiu Feng. Even the powerful Netherworld cannot escape this Law. Unfortunately for , my ti for reincarnation ca one hundred thousand years ago."
"To ensure the safety of my main body, I established this Independent Space before my reincarnation. Originally, an Independent Space constructed with my Beast God Power should have been impossible for anyone to enter, let alone for the Primordial Power fluctuations released by my main body to leak out. But perhaps it was the will of the heavens. One hundred thousand years ago, that old bastard Netherworld’s reincarnated body actually triggered a Venerable Thunder Tribulation. If triggering a Thunder Tribulation wasn’t bad enough, he just had to do it right near the Independent Space I had built. That was a Venerable Thunder Tribulation! A heavenly punishnt-level Thunder Tribulation second only to the Nine Venerable Thunder Tribulation!"
"I still feel a little scared just thinking about it. To avoid being affected by that Thunder Tribulation, I used a Secret Technique one hundred thousand years ago to forcibly seal myself, turning into an egg. Only by doing so could I survive the Venerable Thunder Tribulation. However, while I survived, the Independent Space I created did not. It was struck by the Venerable Thunder Tribulation, shattering ninety-nine layers of its defenses, and even cracking the final layer. Once sealed, I could not erge from the egg unless I reincarnated again. Because of this, that crack beca an opening for my Primordial Power fluctuations to leak out."
At this point, a trace of indignation appeared on the Snow Qilin’s face, but it quickly turned to indifference. "And then, that kid nad Wan Gu found a loophole and, by sheer coincidence, managed to enter this place. But it was his own bad luck that his timing was off. Otherwise, I would have stayed by his side for a few years as a reward, since he did guard
for a thousand years. But he was a disappointnt, reaching the end of his lifespan before I could even hatch. I feel no pity for his death, though. If not for him, I would have regained my freedom the mont I erged. But just as I was about to be born, you, little one, showed up and signed a Life and Death Contract with
at the very instant of my hatching. And now... your blood flows in my veins. All I can say is, this must be fate."
"So, from this day forward, I will be by your side. It’s rather ironic, when you think about it. To think that I, the magnificent Land Beast God, have been reduced to being a human’s contracted pet. If Jiu Feng ever found out, she would laugh for ten thousand years." At this, the Snow Qilin shook her head helplessly, but then a smile appeared. "However, you, little one, have quite the opportunity. But I must tell you, in my newly born state, I am extrely weak. My strength doesn’t even match that of you humans’ Martial Artists. If you want
to grow quickly, I must obtain a massive amount of energy—what you call Primordial Qi. As long as I have enough Primordial Qi, I can advance very quickly."
"Hmm, how about this. For your sake and for mine, I’ll tell you a secret. On the Extre Martial Continent, the places known to the world as ’forbidden lands’ are actually places where Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures gather. Many powerful sources of Primordial Qi exist there. If you have enough strength, you might as well go take a look. You might make an unexpected discovery."
With that, the Snow Qilin glanced at the black hole in the sky, stamped her foot on the void, and said, "It seems I spoke faster than I thought. There’s still a little ti. How about this? Since I’m entrusting the future to you, go ahead and ask
a few questions. After living for millions of years, there’s almost nothing on this continent that I don’t know."
Mu Chen was still processing everything the Snow Qilin had said. Upon hearing the offer, however, he voiced a question that had long been on his mind. "I want to know, where did all the Martial Emperors of the Extre Martial Continent go? Did they really disappear like the rumors say?"
The Snow Qilin gave Mu Chen a deep look and said, "I’m just a consciousness anyway; the Thunder Tribulation can’t kill , so there’s no harm in telling you. The truth is, the Martial Emperor experts of the Extre Martial Continent never disappeared. They went to another plane of existence. I don’t know what that place is, but they are all still alive now. If you want to know the answer, won’t you find out once you reach the Emperor Realm yourself?"
Mu Chen pursed his lips. "Easier said than done. It’s been thirty thousand years, and not a single Martial Emperor has appeared on the Extre Martial Continent. What chance do I have?"
"If you believe in yourself, you have a chance. Alright, any other questions? Ask quickly. My ti is really running out," the Snow Qilin urged.
Mu Chen pondered for a mont, then gripped his right shoulder tightly and looked up to ask, "I want to know, is there any way in this world to restore a limb? For example... my right arm."
"Hmm?" Only then did the Snow Qilin notice Mu Chen’s empty right sleeve. She frowned and said, "Before my reincarnation, that wouldn’t have been a problem at all. I could have used a Secret Technique to reforge an arm for you. But now, I no longer have that ability. However, I do know that in a certain forbidden land in this world, there is a strange liquid. This liquid possesses an imnse amount of life force. Perhaps it can help you restore your arm."
BOOM! WOOO WOOO!
The mont the Snow Qilin’s voice fell, the black hole in the sky let out a sound like a train whistle. With a SIZZLE, a beam of black light enveloped the Snow Qilin. The instant she was covered, a look of pain crossed her face. Her phantom was instantly pulled into the black hole by the beam of black light. The mont she entered the black hole, a Brahma Sound pierced through from within.
"Little one, if I’m not mistaken, those eyes of yours are the Purple Sky Demon Pupils, aren’t they? Explore their power well. Their abilities are terrifyingly, terrifyingly potent. Also, take good care of my main body!"
The lodious voice echoed through the ruined Independent Space, leaving Mu Chen alone, staring blankly up at the sky...
’A strange liquid? A forbidden land... Just like Master said. It seems that’s my last hope.’ Mu Chen clenched his fists. He just wanted to be a whole person again. Using his will, he created a few blocks of Profound Ice and slowly made his way down.
’Purple Sky Demon Pupils, an incredibly terrifying ability...’ Mu Chen decided to focus on increasing his strength first before trying to explore them. Just then, a white fur ball leaped into his arms.
CHIRP...
Her adorable appearance was truly endearing. She seed to have been freed from the ball of light. Now, Mu Chen finally knew the Fur Ball Little Beast’s true identity: one of the Ten Thousand Ancient Beast Gods, the Snow Qilin.
"By the way, little one, I saw you suddenly disappear from in front of
just now. How did you do that?" Mu Chen asked, confused. Hadn’t the Snow Qilin’s consciousness told him that its newborn self was weaker than a Martial Artist? But the move she had just shown didn’t seem weaker than a Martial Artist at all.
"I don’t know."
An ethereal, childish voice echoed in his mind, giving Mu Chen a strange feeling. A mont ago, the Snow Qilin’s phantom had been calling him "little one," and now he was looking at the tiny Snow Qilin and calling it "little one." A thrill—a strange sort of thrill—ran through him.
"Alright, I suppose you wouldn’t know. Next, I’ll take a look at the Ten Thousand Scriptures." With that, Mu Chen flipped his wrist, and a massive golden book appeared in his hand. Because the book was so large, Mu Chen simply used his will to create a flat surface of Profound Ice and placed the Ten Thousand Scriptures on it, gently opening it to the first page.
"Ten Thousand Flowers dical Scripture."
The prologue was short, but it made the book’s imnse value clear at a glance: "A scripture by dicine Dust, recording the effects of hundreds of millions of dicinal Herbs and pill formulas."
The words of the prologue left Mu Chen overjoyed. What did he lack the most right now? Not a Cultivation Technique, not a Combat Skill, but a dicinal Scripture—one that recorded dicinal Herbs and formulas. This was like receiving charcoal in a snowstorm. Recalling the thod Venerable Wan Gu had ntioned for claiming the treasured scripture, Mu Chen cut his finger. A drop of crimson blood fell with a SPLAT onto the center of the book. Like a drop of water falling onto a calm surface, a ripple of red Primordial Power spread out from the blood.
Imdiately after, the drop of blood seed to possess Space Power as it passed directly through the surface of the book, then through the bottom of the Ten Thousand Scriptures, and fell onto the ground with another SPLAT. Mu Chen was too shocked to speak. He had never seen anything like this before. But on second thought, there were many things he had never seen in the past three years. This was just one more to add to the list...
The Central State of the Extre Martial Continent was a rich and prosperous region, the very heart of the entire continent. It was ho to countless sects and families. Any single family from here could beco a top-tier power if placed in any of the lesser empires. In this region, there were also so incredibly mysterious Hidden Clans. It was truly a place of outstanding people and abundant spiritual energy. However, the most peculiar thing about the Central State was its complex and varied terrain.
Zhongling Mountain was shrouded in clouds and mist year-round, rich with Spiritual Qi. For this very reason, powerful Magical Beasts occupied it, content in their domain. If any human got too close, they would trigger a siege from all the beasts. One must understand that every Magical Beast living there was at the level of a Venerable Beast or higher. There were even several powerful Magical Beasts that had reached the Holy Beast Realm.
However, in this desolate, uninhabited "forbidden land," a giant Bronze Cauldron sat atop the highest peak of Zhongling Mountain. A golden barrier of light perfectly enveloped it, extending for a thousand li in every direction. Such a spectacle was a rare sight even on the Extre Spirit Continent. Upon closer inspection, one would discover sothing peculiar: this giant Bronze Cauldron was actually a massive building, with people occasionally seen moving about on it. It was hard to imagine such a huge human structure existing in such a barren and remote place. But in the Central State, its na was known to all: the ultimate destination for Cauldron Masters—the Ding Palace!
