Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Logistics Departnt

"You’ve been on an island for five years, right? So, what do you think you can teach? What qualifications do you have that would enable you to teach university courses?" Ding Wan’er was nearly at her limit of tolerance. Did he think he was being asked how to brag?

"On the island, Peerless Divine Skill, Killing Techniques, Hundred Schools of Thought, Astronomy and Geography, Divination and Astrology, musical instrunts, chess, calligraphy, and painting, computer programming, and hacking skills are no problem at all. It’s just that I currently don’t have any academic qualifications."

Seeing the changing expressions on Ding Wan’er’s face, as though she was worried about the issue of his qualifications, Lin Feng wanted to ease Ding Wan’er’s troubles and added, "If a qualification is absolutely necessary, I can go buy one."

The more she heard, the worse it got. Upon hearing this statent, a black line appeared on Ding Wan’er’s forehead, and she lost control, her voice rising eight octaves, "What! Buy a qualification? What kind of place do you think this is? You want to buy a fake degree and co teach at my university? You...!"

"Don’t get worked up, I can buy a real degree." Lin Feng hadn’t expected Ding Wan’er to be so excited and signaled her not to get too agitated.

"A real... really..." Ding Wan’er felt like collapsing. Buying a real degree was still buying, wasn’t it?

"Mr. Lin, with your situation, it’s impossible for

to arrange a university teaching position for you. We are currently short-staffed in logistics—that’s the only job I can arrange for you right now. If you are unwilling, then I’m sorry to say, goodbye." Ding Wan’er was almost going crazy, but the matter involved her grandfather, and she finally managed to suppress her feelings, thinking to herself that this was for the best and that she couldn’t be blad. A braggart like him surely wouldn’t accept a logistics job. If he left, then all her troubles would be solved.

"That’s fine, then I’ll go report for duty now." Lin Feng didn’t react as Ding Wan’er had anticipated; he wasn’t excited, showed no reaction, and certainly didn’t refuse and leave. He simply shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, stood up, and walked towards the door, where he stopped and turned back around, "By the way, where is the logistics office?"

"Second floor on the west side, there’s a sign on the door!" Ding Wan’er was stunned for a mont before she replied. She really hadn’t expected Lin Feng to agree.

Even more unexpectedly, Lin Feng didn’t leave; he actually stayed. Despite the pompous claims he had just made, when told to go to logistics, he... he didn’t seem to care at all.

In fact, it was as if it didn’t bother him one bit. This man really was... an oddball.

Watching Lin Feng’s retreating back, Ding Wan’er sighed. What on earth was going on today, she didn’t know why she could get so infuriated by him!

And the more she thought about it, the stranger it seed. This Lin Feng...

Finally, she picked up the internal phone on her desk and dialed a number: "Director Chen? Soone nad Lin Feng will co looking for you, arrange sothing for him!"

Staring at the phone she had hung up before hearing a reply, the logistics departnt’s Director Chen, Chen Yun, was sowhat dazed, thinking to himself, the president... the president personally arranging this, it didn’t make sense.

This had never happened before. What happened today? Was she provoked by so rich young master?

Chen Yun decided not to ponder over it further. He would have to carefully consider the president’s intentions. The president directly arranging soone for a position was a big deal...

Ding Wan’er looked at the letter in her hand, thought about Lin Feng’s appearance and his words, and felt extrely conflicted. She had anticipated their eting wouldn’t be pleasant, but she hadn’t expected it to be so preposterous. Despite an initially favorable impression based on his appearance, how could things get more and more ridiculous? How could soone like him possibly share a life with her!

No, she had to go find her grandfather and tell him everything that happened today! Let him decide for her! Lin Feng was simply too unsuitable, nothing but a bunch of hot air!

Despite a thousand and one reasons for reluctance, she knew she had to inform her grandfather about the matter of the introduction letter...

In the depths of Yingbo University’s garden, there sat three ancient-style villas, among which, in the courtyard of one villa, all kinds of flowers emitted fragrances throughout the garden. An old man was happily using a trowel to loosen the soil around the flowers and watering them while humming an opera tune, living utterly carefree and comfortable. This was Ding Wan’er’s grandfather, Ding Yi, the forr president of Yingbo University.

After turning the school over to his granddaughter, he finally got to enjoy tending to his flowers without worrying about the school’s affairs!

Upon entering the yard and seeing her grandfather still caring for the plants, Ding Wan’er didn’t speak but stood there, puffing up with annoyance. Since childhood, she had been brought up with fine ladylike etiquette, which kept her from rudely interrupting others, including her own grandfather!

After a while, Ding Yi put down the trowel, turned around, and saw his precious granddaughter had arrived, and she seed a bit upset. Ding Yi asked with a smile, "Wan’er, what’s wrong? Who’s made you upset?"

Ding Wan’er shook the letter in her hand and said softly, "Grandfather, that letter has arrived!"

A letter? What letter? What kind of letter would make his granddaughter personally deliver it? Ding Yi had questions swirling in his head, then suddenly realized, could it be the letter he had been waiting for over twenty years? Excitedly, he took the letter from his granddaughter’s hands, opened it, and saw it only contained one sentence, "I am your betrothed." Below it was sketched the figure of an old man. Seeing this sketch of the old man, Ding Yi was filled with excitent—it ant that his old friend was still alive!

"Hehe, Wan’er, you must have seen the young man who sent that letter, right?" Ding Yi asked anxiously.

"Don’t even get

started, it just makes

angry. He’s an uneducated swindler who hasn’t even graduated from high school. After spending five years on an island, he now cos to run in my school wanting to be a teacher, claiming he can do anything and everything. I’ve never seen anyone like him!" Ding Wan’er beca extrely upset when ntioning this matter.

Hmm? But the old man is absolutely a master among masters, how could his people be like this? Ding Yi was very skeptical inside, staring at his granddaughter, and her expression didn’t seem like she was lying!

"So, did he provide any proof that what he’s saying is true? Or is it all your deduction that he’s an uneducated swindler?" Ding Yi asked.

"Well, this, he hasn’t really proven anything, but he’s about the sa age as your granddaughter, hasn’t graduated from high school, and has lived on an island for five years. And then there’s what he said..."

"What’s the man’s na, and how is he arranged now?" Ding Yi now cared more about how Ding Wan’er was handling the situation.

"Oh, that man is called Lin Feng; I temporarily placed him in the logistics departnt."

"Hmm, that works too, we’ll see. I’ll have ti to check him out, see what this young man is really about!" Ding Yi replied, but then added sothing that nearly made Ding Wan’er pass out, "Don’t expect to break off the engagent deliberately. When you have ti, try to have more contact with that young man, to build up a relationship! Do you understand?"

Ding Wan’er was already feeling utterly speechless and depressed. What on earth is good about Lin Feng? How co I can’t see anything good about him at all? Grandpa even wants

to have more contact with him; how is that possible? It’s so frustrating!

"Don’t be upset, Wan’er. Even though I haven’t t this Lin Feng you ntioned, there is one fact I know! If he has been with the old man ntioned in the letter, he must not be an ordinary person!" Seeing Wan’er’s state of mind, Ding Yi kindly added, hoping Wan’er could grasp the situation.

Ding Wan’er felt her grandfather was being too blindly optimistic. Not everyone associated with good people is good themselves. And recalling what Lin Feng had said, she felt that this person was simply unreliable, not to ntion being with him. Ding Wan’er would never be with soone who was all talk and no action.

"Oh, Grandpa, I understand. I’m going back to work now!" Ding Wan’er thought to herself, though she knew she couldn’t voice these thoughts to her grandfather; otherwise, he might beco more anxious and press her even further. She would have to gradually find a way in the future.

"Alright, go on, and co over to have dinner at your grandfather’s place when you’re free!"

"Goodbye, Grandpa!"

Watching Ding Wan’er’s retreating figure, a happy smile appeared on Ding Yi’s face. Lin Feng, Lin Feng, I must take the opportunity to check him out properly...

Chen Yun hung up the phone call with Principal Ding Wan’er and the more he thought about it, the more he felt sothing was off. The principal directly arranging for such a person seed very uncertain, not normal at all!

For the sake of safety, Chen Yun decided to start with Principal Ding’s secretary, Zhang Yu, to find out what was really going on. Otherwise, if he mishandled the situation without knowing the full picture, he might ss up. Could he even continue his job then? Many people were eyeing his position, after all – jobs that offered a little more ’oil and water’ were definitely better than anything!

Outside the Principal’s office, Chen Yun knocked on the door, pushed it slightly open upon seeing Zhang Yu, and asked cautiously.

"Xiao Yu, is the Principal in?"

"No, he just went out!"

"I have a question, Xiao Yu. What do you think is the Principal’s intention? Suddenly directing soone to my departnt – this has never happened before. It doesn’t make sense, and it has left

not knowing what to do!" As soon as Chen Yun heard the Principal wasn’t there, he relaxed because he usually had a good relationship with Zhang Yu. It was very important to be on good terms with soone close to the Principal. Chen Yun had co over, hoping to get so useful information from Zhang Yu.

"I’m not clear about this. I only know he talked to the Principal inside for about more than ten minutes; then the Principal rushed out!" Actually, Zhang Yu was also curious about what exactly happened inside.

Hearing Zhang Yu say this, Chen Yun was even more perplexed, mumbling to himself, "What do you think I should do, then? I can’t just arrange things however I want. It’s not right if I do well, and not right if I do poorly. What if I mistakenly place him, and he leaves, only for the Principal to find out? That would be a mistake... It’s so vexing!"

Ding Wan’er had just returned from her grandfather’s and was walking in when she overheard the conversation between Chen Yun and her secretary – precisely Chen Yun’s last sentence!

Already unhappy about today’s events, after coming back from her grandfather’s, Ding Wan’er had been thinking about how to persuade Lin Feng to leave so that he would leave voluntarily without creating further issues for her. And here, the mont she walked in, she encountered Chen Yun trying to scout out ’military intelligence’!

If you could get him to leave Yingbo University voluntarily, I’ll promote you and raise your salary!" Ding Wan’er, already in a bad mood, directly responded to Chen Yun’s words without paying attention to the startled Chen Yun frozen in place, and she walked straight into her own office.
