Chapter 3: Chapter 3 I’m Your Fiancé

After spending a few days at ho, Lin Feng took care of his parents every day, keeping them cheerful all the ti. He helped his mother tidy up the house, happily accompanied her on shopping trips, and played chess with his dad. In the evenings, he cooked delicious als for his parents, delighting them so much they thought they could die happy! They felt that their son had truly grown up and was no longer the prodigal son he had been! Their hearts were filled with joy! They were extrely satisfied with Lin Feng as he was now!

As the days passed, Lin Yiwen and Zhang Lan were especially happy. With their son by their side, they had not a single worry. The couple had once set everything aside just to look for their son. Now that Lin Feng had returned, they began to think about starting so kind of business, considering that they had spent all their money and made every sacrifice in past years to find their son, and now their savings were running low. Life had to go on even though their son was back.

After discussing it, they decided to use the remaining money to set up a shop and start a new, stable life. What was in the past was in the past; the amount of money didn’t matter as long as the family was together!

However, they were at a loss as to how to arrange their son’s future. They didn’t want him to be involved in small business with them, believing that a man should go out and make his own way. But since Lin Feng had just returned and beco so filial, they couldn’t bring themselves to broach the subject!

Actually, even when his parents were talking inside the house, Lin Feng could hear them when he wasn’t consciously controlling it. Knowing what his parents were thinking, he took the initiative during dinner that night and said, "Mom and Dad, I’ve decided to go out and find a job tomorrow, so you don’t have to worry about !"

Zhang Lan was also very happy to hear this and imdiately inquired about what Lin Feng planned to do. Thinking of the old man’s letter of recomndation, Lin Feng did not hide it.

University professor! Zhang Lan and Lin Yiwen were stunned. Lin Feng hadn’t even graduated from high school, how could he possibly be a university professor?

Zhang Lan looked at her son with great puzzlent, "Son, how can you possibly beco a university professor? You haven’t even graduated from high school, have you?"

"Unleashing Your Creativity. I’ve always been an optimist, and I suppose that is rooted in my belief that the power of creativity and intelligence can make the world a better place..." Lin Feng recited a passage in English casually, trying to dispel his parents’ doubts about him.

But it was this offhand remark that completely shocked Zhang Lan! As a business elite, Zhang Lan was also fluent in English. The sentence her son had just said was from the world’s richest man, Bill: "Unleashing Your Creativity," an article deed essential reading for every successful manager!

She did not expect her son to be able to recite it, and his pronunciation was absolutely authentic Arican English! Zhang Lan was so stunned by her son’s impressive performance that it took her quite a while to co to her senses.

Looking at Lin Feng incredulously, she asked, "Where did you learn your English? When I forced you to go to the United States to study, you only learned a few swear words, but now... how did you manage to learn so well?"

At that mont, Zhang Lan’s heart was full of questions. She thought about the five years her son had spent on the deserted island, wondering how he could have possibly learned such authentic Arican English?

Cooking skills, English, all of this seed too illogical.

If one didn’t know any better, they might have thought that Lin Feng had gone away for five years of advanced study and just returned.

"It’s nothing much; there was a ship that passed by the island that had crashed. I found a computer on board and learned by myself from the computer..." Lin Feng replied honestly, though he unintentionally left so details out.

Zhang Lan and Lin Yiwen were at a loss for words as everything seed too miraculous and unexpected.

For soone who had lived on an island, to learn to such an extent just from a computer?

Zhang Lan and Lin Yiwen found it hard to believe, almost incredible.

But the facts were right before their eyes, and as parents, they couldn’t help but think that their son must have suffered greatly on the island, which filled them with sorrow...

"Have you decided which school you’re going to?" Zhang Lan knew that society wouldn’t make you a university professor just because you spoke well, but she didn’t want to discourage her son, so she asked cautiously.

"I have a letter of recomndation here that introduces

as a university professor!" Lin Feng answered his parents honestly!

A letter of recomndation? How could her son have one so soon after returning? He had barely been out of her sight these past few days; where did this letter co from? This ti, both Zhang Lan and Lin Yiwen looked at their beloved son with questioning eyes, hoping he would give them an answer!

"A strange old man insisted on taking

as his apprentice and wrote

this letter of recomndation to be a university professor." Lin Feng felt a bit uncomfortable under his parents’ scrutiny and gave them an answer they could barely accept!

"Is that really the case?" Zhang Lan asked. She did not believe in such coincidences, as her experience as a successful businesswoman taught her that there is no such thing as a free lunch in this world; everything has a cause and effect!

"Mom, everything I’ve told you is true. Besides, once I secure a job at the university tomorrow, you’ll believe , won’t you?" Lin Feng didn’t want to dwell on this issue any longer and brushed it aside.

Seeing the look in his parents’ eyes, Lin Feng was speechless. He understood that this was how parents felt; no matter how old the child was, they would always be a child in their parents’ eyes. Pity the hearts of all parents in the world.

The next morning, Lin Feng took out the letter of recomndation and the address the old man had given him: Tianhai Yinbo University, President, Ding Wan’er.

Tianhai Yinbo University, which rose to prominence over the past few decades, is a world-renowned private university. With the support of several super conglorates and frequent academic exchanges with nurous prestigious universities internationally, it boasts 53 doctoral programs.

Many of the world’s renowned scientific research results occur within this institution each year, making the university arguably the best in Tianhai City in terms of facilities and faculty strength. Nationally, it stands out as well, far surpassing many public universities.

The students attending this university are all top scholars and excellent students. Those who graduate from here are the absolute elites of various industries. In the eyes of parents, as long as their child can attend this university, they need not worry about their future career or family!

After asking for directions to the principal’s office, Lin Feng headed straight for the office building, making his way to the principal’s office located on the top floor.

"Knock, knock, knock." Lin Feng knocked on the door politely.

"Co in!" An pleasant female voice answered from inside, and upon opening the door, he saw a beautiful girl sitting in an office of about twenty square ters.

"Hello, I’m Zhang Yu, the principal’s secretary. The principal is busy in her office. Do you have an appointnt? Who are you, and what do you need?" Zhang Yu asked as per her usual routine.

Lin Feng replied casually, "I don’t have an appointnt. I’m here with an introduction letter to see her. Could you please ask her?"

"Please wait a mont, I’ll contact her." Zhang Yu politely offered Lin Feng a seat while sizing up his attire and manners. Finding him quite presentable and knowing the principal was not busy with anything particular, she didn’t obstruct him much and proceeded to use the internal phone on her desk to contact the principal.

"Xiao Zhang, what’s the matter?" In a spacious office spanning over a hundred square ters, designed with elegant simplicity and a refined taste, Ding Wan’er saw the internal phone flash, asking her secretary.

"Principal, there’s sobody here without an appointnt who wishes to see you!" Xiao Zhang reported carefully.

"If he doesn’t have an appointnt, ask him to leave. I’m very busy! No ti!" Ding Wan’er thought it was just another rich heir coming to bother her without reason, an occurrence that happened every few days.

"Oh, by the way, principal, he says he has an introduction letter." Xiao Zhang hurriedly added, just as Ding Wan’er was about to hang up.

"Hmm, an introduction letter, what... did you say introduction letter?" Ding Wan’er, who had been deeply imrsed in work, suddenly raised her head. An introduction letter? Could it be that person that grandpa had ntioned since her childhood? That letter?

It was the first ti Ding Wan’er felt panic. In her mind, she had hoped this letter and person would never surface, to prevent anyone from disrupting her life. Thus, whenever an introduction letter was ntioned, she would get nervous, as it was a matter she had to attend to.

Although Ding Wan’er had not ntioned it to her secretary, the secretary was clever enough to sense this habit of her boss.

Despite feeling sowhat uneasy, Ding Wan’er consoled herself with the thought that after all this ti, there had been nearly a hundred introduction letters, if not eighty, and they had all been routine. Today was likely no exception, so why should she worry over nothing?

"Let him in," Ding Wan’er eventually said, calming herself down.

"Okay!" Xiao Zhang hung up and rose to tell Lin Feng, "You may go in now!"

Upon entering, Lin Feng imdiately noticed a woman whose beauty couldn’t rely be captured by the word ’beautiful,’ seated in the large office, looking at him. Her presence and poise were not things that simple beauty could describe.

Of course, first and foremost, she was stunningly beautiful, which ca off as sowhat arrogant to Lin Feng, and he was surprised. In his mind, principals were typically elderly, so he wondered how this principal could be so young and beautiful. Then he quickly shrugged it off, reminding himself that beauty didn’t relate to him since he was just there to work.

"Hello, I am Principal Ding Wan’er. What can I do for you?" she asked.

"My na is Lin Feng. I have a letter here for you!" Although surprised by Ding Wan’er’s youthful appearance, Lin Feng swiftly adapted, pulling the letter from his pocket and handing it to her courteously.

Despite her concerns, Ding Wan’er, having managed a university for many years, opened the letter with composure.

The mont she read its contents, her heart was thrown into tumult.

Sure enough, what was bound to co had co, for the letter contained a simple ssage, "I am your fiancé."

"I am your fiancé, I am your fiancé..."

Ding Wan’er felt her head might explode with the revelation that the day she had dreaded had actually arrived—that person...
