"A new, evolved theory that erges from the mix. It answers all of the contradictions and unanswered questions we have faced so far. Let list them one by one...

"One, what is the source of power behind the circle of laws? What exactly keeps such a massive design active?

The answer is the qi, constantly being extracted from the ridians of the sealed cultivator, whose realm of cultivation is very, very high.

"Two, Why is such a Holy Land so desolate, filled with skeletons, rotten corpses, and terrifying zombies? And why is it so brutal towards the explorers? Why would anyone design an inheritance site here, out of all places?

The answer is that it wasn’t originally intended to be an inheritance ground, to begin with. These tests had never been planned by the authorities of the sect, who had possibly vacated this place or died long ago. Soone else arranged it all after the desolation of the Holy Land.

"Three, what is the aim of designing such a gigantic, yet contradictory chanism? The creator of the jail could certainly not be so dumb.

"The answer is that the contradictions only appeared when the prison was turned into an open trap. Imagine it all sequentially now.

"A thriving sect suddenly falls under a great threat, a danger that they fail to counter. The entire sect is decimated. But in one corner of its territory, there is a prison sealed so perfectly that the disaster does not affect it much, except perhaps weakening its defenses a little.

"A powerful cultivator is sealed in this prison, and he sees the opportunity to finally escape. He begins to manipulate the chanisms of the prison slowly, planting loopholes and contradictory elents in the laws that were keeping the prison intact.

"Since nobody is alive in that sect, nothing can stop his influence from growing. He scavenges through the ruins and collects the precious relics and apparatuses used by the sect to recruit disciples. He adds these elents into the massive chanism that’s keeping him sealed within his prison.

"Now, to all outsiders, it appears that the prison itself is an inheritance ground, and breaching and breaking through its walls is a way to earn a legendary legacy. So people flock in, spending days and weeks damaging the prison’s sealing chanisms, all while the prisoner lies in wait at the center."

With each passing second, Mu Ran and Xuanyuan Zhou were feeling colder and colder inside. From the mont Han Xuhan had started explaining his theories, both of them had been busy trying to keep track of his scatterbrained chains of logic.

The more they listened, the more they felt that Han Xuhan was a bigger oddity than either of them. Both of them had their own guesses regarding the secrets in the land of laws. It wasn’t that hard to figure it out since they had their own sources of information as well as the inconsistencies being rather obvious.

But Han Xuhan’s imagination-based deductive theories were on a whole new level of insanity...

"After this point, we can focus on the third stage, the place where it all went full kaboom," Han Xuhan continued his intricate explanation without stopping at all, as if he wanted to seize every second of his final monts.

"When we began this conversation, you asked how I saw through the trap inside the test, Brother Yun. Honestly, I never saw through anything, to begin with!"

"What?" Zhao Weiqing was startled out of his reverie.

"It’s true," Xuhan nodded.

"Do you think I’d be sitting here with my hands and feet bound if I really knew the true nature of this inheritance ground? I’d have escaped ages ago!

"Everything I’ve said so far is all part of my overly active imagination. Sure, they make sense, but that doesn’t an they’re true. I don’t have any solid information to rely on, I don’t have the ability to verify my guesses. At that ti, I treated those theories as nothing but my baseless, subconscious worries.

"But right when I saw the contents of the third test, I started feeling conflicted. I’m a fairly greedy person, but the language of laws isn’t sothing worth risking my life for. If there was really anything wrong with this inheritance ground, the third and final test should be the ultimate pivot point.

"At that ti, I thought about it for a while, and realized that there was actually no need for to take the risk, to begin with, hehehe!"

Han Xuhan started snickering again, arousing everyone’s interest.

"Why is that?" Zhao Weiqing asked. But he had a faint feeling that he’d receive a ridiculous answer from this madman.

"It’s because both my martial siblings, as well as you, my friend, took part in the third test before ! If there wasn’t anything wrong with the third test, you guys would definitely bag a technique or two relying on your aptitude.

"Now, whatever my martial siblings get, I can get my hands on it because of our relationships. As for the legacy that you might get, couldn’t I demand a copy of it based on the contract of equivalent exchange between the two of us? You were, and still are, heavily indebted to based on that deal, don’t you rember?

"So why would I need to take all that risk? I could just sit outside and wait for the treasures to fall into my lap! Hahahaha!"

"...." Zhao Weiqing sighed wordlessly. He really had seen that one coming. Xuanyuan Zhou finally couldn’t hold back her disbelief and interjected.

"So, you’re telling , that you managed to evade the trap because of so random whims and your innate cowardice?"

Han Xuhan’s smug laughter disappeared as he gave her a disdainful side-eye. Being called a loser by soone who had fared even worse than him.... If this young lady wasn’t his golden thigh, he’d teach her a thing or two about insulting people.

"You’re wrong," Zhao Weiqing said in his stead. "He hasn’t explained the whole story yet. He did enter the platforms. He did it twice, in fact, and failed both tis. I suspect he’s trying to hide the reasons with this ridiculous act."
