"It should be around here..."

Scanning the area with a keen eye, I uttered.

The more I walked in the direction of the south, the more familiar my surroundings beca.

Eventually, I didn't even need to think about the path, my feet seed to know exactly where to go.

I can't rember how many tis I had made this journey in the ga before, but it should have easily reached double digits as every ti I started a new save I usually chose this path as my preferred route.

...

It didn't take long until I spotted the entrance to the hidden burrow I had been searching for.

A satisfied smile appeared crept on my face as I approached the entrance, hearing a growl emanating from deep within the burrow.

"Co out or I will co in there and make you!!!"

I shouted at the top of my lungs, knowing that the creatures within the burrow would be irritated by the loud noise and co out to confront .

Taking a good dozen steps back, I leaned against a nearby tree and observed the entrance, waiting patiently for my foes to erge.

Howl...

I didn't need to wait for long. Soon a couple pairs of red eyes slowly appeared in the darkness of the burrow.

The growls grew louder, reverberating through the forest as the creatures stepped out of the shadows.

The Fenrir Wolves, as they were known in the ga, were a sight to behold.

Each one was the size of a small car, their hulking forms covered in dense, midnight-black fur that seed to absorb the sunlight rather than reflect it.

Their eyes glowed a nacing red, burning with an unnatural fire that sent shivers down my spine.

Muscles rippled under their thick fur with every movent, and their paws, each the size of a human head, crushed the ground beneath them with alarming ease.

Long, sharp claws glinted nacingly as they scraped against the earth, leaving deep gouges in their wake. Their jaws, lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth, could snap bones as easily as twigs.

They were perfect predators and now their angered sights were set on .

However, I wasn't afraid.

Although the wolves did seem far more terrifying than the ones I had seen in the ga, I was confident in my ability to dispatch them.

I don't know whether this was due to the trust I had in my Sword Genius trait or due to the countless hours I had spent fighting an army of goblins, but I was ready to take on these Fenrir Wolves.

They were considered a low tier monster, which ant that they were only slightly stronger than I was.

This fight was definitely doable.

And I didn't hesitate.

『 Shadow Step 』

Taking a step forward, I vanished into thin air, making the wolves look around confused.

Pluck...

The very next second my sword was already embedded in one of their necks, a fountain of blood erupting from the fatal wound.

⌜Devourer⌝

❖ You've killed a Lv. 25 Fenrir Wolf...

» 2 Perception

The monster didn't even have the chance to understand what had happened, its vision fading as it collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

Other wolves, seeing the demise of their pack mate, let out a bone-chilling howl and charged towards , their powerful jaws and sharp claws ready to rend apart

Luckily, after my『 Shadow Manipulation 』spell's mastery increased by a level, Shadow Step's cooldown was also reduced, allowing to instantly disappear into the thin air, avoiding all the savage attacks.

I didn't retreat, though.

Appearing on top of the nearest monster's head, I wrapped my legs around its neck and swung my sword, aiming for its eye.

Fortunately, the blade hit its mark.

Unfortunately, the stab was not deep enough and the wolf thrashed, violently, trying to throw off.

However, I held tight, refusing to let go.

In the end, I managed to plunge the sword deeper into the wolf's eye, causing it to howl in agony before it finally collapsed to the ground, defeated.

Another 'Devourer' notification popped up, informing that I had successfully absorbed so attributes from the slain wolf, but I didn't have ti to check it as another creature lunged at , its claws getting way too close for my comfort.

'Curses...'

I barely managed to dodge it.

Although I almost died, one thing beca painfully apparent during this last attack.

I was having a bit too many useless thoughts during the battle. If I don't fix this habit in the near future this will be my downfall.

"We live and learn..."

"..."

A young man with brown eyes and brown hair stared at the ground nearing towards him at a concerning rate.

To so this situation would've been scary but his facial expression was that of a person who had lost all of his emotions.

Stoic and cold.

Without any conceivable hurry or care he extended his arms, manipulating the mana around him and rotating his body so his feet were facing the earth.

The very next second he hit the ground.

Thud...

A massive crater ford around him and a big cloud of dust was also raised in the air.

Usually, people die from such a high fall, but the man simply brushed the dirt off his clothes and looked around.

"..."

Noting that the area was clear, he leaned towards his shoe and pulled out a small hidden dagger he always carried around.

It was a habit he had developed on the battlefield.

Howl...

Suddenly, the noise of a wolf attracted his attention.

Turning his head in the direction of the sound, he montarily looked at the greenery before taking a step towards it.

"Points."
